Marmaduke DVD Review And Giveaway

Sometimes you just want to watch a movie that will make you laugh. Marmaduke is one of those movies.


An all-star cast of voice talents, including Owen Wilson (Marley & Me), George Lopez (“The George Lopez Show”), Kiefer Sutherland (“24”), and Fergie (The Black Eyed Peas) lend their voices to the dog-out-of-water tale about what happens when the lovable oversized pooch is unleashed in an idyllic seaside town.

When Marmaduke (Wilson) moves to a new neighborhood with his family, the super-sized teenage dog soon discovers he just doesn’t fit in—literally! Marmaduke can’t help being a one-dog wrecking crew, causing fur-flying chaos wherever he roams. But, with the help of his friend, Carlos the Cat (Lopez), Marmaduke may just get out of the doghouse, fall in love, and surf off into the sunset.

Hubby was working late so I decided to eat dinner with the kids in front of the television. The movie had me rolling on the floor within a few minutes of it starting. Evan immediately says, "That puppy can talk!!" while Isaebella(who loves animals) kept saying, "HEYYYY Puppy!".


Evan thoroughly enjoyed the DVD and it even held Isabella's attention for a little while. My mom called while we were watching it and wants us to bring it over tomorrow. I know my mom and sister will love it as much as we do. My husband will get to see it tomorrow too.

If you are looking for a movie that will keep the whole family entertained and laughing, Marmaduke fits the bill!

The only thing that I don't like on these is the drawstring on the top. We will wear these more when winter gets here because long pants will cover the string. The drawstring makes it where the shoes fit snugly, but I think it looks a little silly.


I really wanted these Thrasher shoes for him for summer. They would match most of his clothing, and they would be even easier for him to put on and take off by himself.


The quality of these Shoes is fantastic. I can tell they are going to last him as long as they'll fit. He has already put them through a lot, and they still look new!

We normally go to the beach several times during the summer, but we didn't make it as much this year. We load up the car with all of the necessities for a day at the beach including products to keep the sun off of our children.

Unfortunately, we haven't been to the beach as much and haven't used it there. It arrived one day before someone was coming to look at the house(our house is for sale), so it got put in the garage and was forgotten about for several weeks. I'm sure we'll get tons of use out of it now between play dates at the park, beach days, and camping!

It comes in a easy to use carry bag. When folded up, it doesn't take up much room at all-perfect for traveling.


Here is what it comes with. The umbrella, bag, and a smaller bag with stakes and other accessories.


Here it is with one flap down, and the other flap still up. The flaps attach to the side of the umbrella, or can be brought down to create more of a "tent look".


The flaps both have two rings to be staked down to the ground.


Each side has a flap that you can unzip to expose a vented area so that air can flow through.


Here is a view from the back with one of the vents open and one zipped shut.


Using this knob, you can make the "handle" as long or short as you'd like. That makes it where the Sport-Brella will sit up as high or low as you need it to. When not in use, the bottom part goes up into the top part.


I posted about Evan hopefully playing sports earlier today, and I think we will be using this often! I used to take Evan to my brother's baseball games and I wish we would have had something like this. The kids can play with their toys on the ground, but still be in the shade.

It will be perfect for building sandcastles under at the beach-or for taking naps! We plan on camping soon and this will definitely be something we take with us. I'm sure any family can think of several places they would get good use out of the Sport-Brella!.

We had the kids' birthday party in our backyard so seating was a priority. I wanted to have comfortable chairs and swings scattered around the yard so parents could mingle and watch their children play.

They came well packaged and it didn't take my husband very long at all to put together.


The regular sized chair measures 30"W x 37"D x 37"H and the junior sized chair is 19"W x 24"D x 28"H. Both chairs are available in 8 different colors to match whatever you need. My house is white, so I asked for both chairs in white.


I've had them for a few months now and they are holding up extremely well. My only complaint is that the slats feel a little too far apart. My granddad used to make Adirondack chairs and the slats where always extremely close for maximum comfort. I admit that it looks better with the slats further apart, but I can feel the spaces when I'm sitting in it.

Not only do they look great in my yard, but they also make good photo props. If I put Isabella on the ground, she quickly crawls away. If I have her in the chair, she usually stays put for a little while.

I wish you could have seen Evan's face when he first saw this adorable Sid the Science kid figure. He got so excited when he learned that Sid "talked" to him. Sid comes with the “The Sticker Chart” DVD episode and Evan has watched it over and over again. The Sid figure, was good enough, but the DVD was a pleasant added bonus. Here he is holding Sid and watching the DVD.


The recommended age is 36 months - 6 years, but even Isabella loves Sid. She learned to press on Sid to make him talk and between my two kids, Sid is always talking. It takes 2 AA batteries to make him run(they're included) and I'm surprised we haven't had to change them yet. To make Sid talk. they simply press on his chest.

When my aunt saw the set she said it reminded her of heirloom quality toys. I agree. The wooden castle and all the pieces scream quality. My only problem is that our horses don't stand straight. It seems that two of their legs are shorter than the others.

The Dollhouse measures 13.5" x 10.5" x 7" and is meant for children over 3. Even though Isabella is just over 1, she *loves* these fold up houses. I sit with her and show her how to place them in the chairs and move them around the house. She'll grab one of the people and say "HEY baby!!". I was very impressed with the amount of furniture that it comes with. The cabinets in the kitchen even open and close.


When the kids are done playing, I simply close the house or castle and they fold up nice and small. They don't take up a lot of room, yet they provide a ton of entertainment. The handles at the top allow me to carry them around the house or to easily take to the car if we want to take them with us to grandma's house or wherever else we're going.


We often open them both up to make one big play area. The kids move the furniture and characters around from one house to the other. Evan loves to open and close the doors on the houses and the door inside of the castle. Isabella just enjoys moving the people around and sitting them in the different chairs.


They play with these sets every day and I look forward to years of fun from them.

When I was looking through old pictures for Evan's birthday post, I stumbled across some videos that I took when he was Isabella's age. It reminded me of his little quirks at that age and I couldn't believe how fast time had flown by. I was so good about taking videos of him every week, but I haven't been taking as many lately.

I have a Flip Mino that I use a good bit, but it doesn't have as many features. Here is a picture of the two side by side. As you can see, the Flip SlideHD is a little larger and is heavier. I hate that it is larger because space is limited in my diaper bag, but the slide feature is the reason that it can't be as small.


All of the options are on the touch screen. There are no buttons to push, just a screen. How cool is that?!?


I love the slide feature. You can record any moment and then watch it over and over again on the 3-inch widescreen. Evan loves having me take videos of him being silly and then we will place it on the table and watch it.


If you slide your finger across the black strip on the bottom, you can quickly scroll through the videos that you've taken. As you see, they even have the date that they were taken and the length of the video displayed above each one. Once you find what you want, simply touch the video and it will start playing. The video will take up the whole screen when it starts playing.


To charge or get the videos off of The Flip SlideHD, simply push the button to expose the USB connector. Plug it into your computer and you're all set. You don't have to worry about cords or anything else when trying to charge it-you just need a computer.


Here are a few videos so that you can experience the quality. This first one was taken outside so it was sunny. The quality is definitely more clear and crisp on the videos that I download. The ones that I load into youtube don't seem to look as clear for some reason.


This one was taken in a restaurant so it was somewhat dark(I was feeding Isabella a lemon).


We have had so much fun with The Flip SlideHD. I have been able to take great quality videos without lugging around a huge camcorder.
