Disney's Maleficent - Now Available On Blu-ray Combo Pack, Digital HD, DVD and On-Demand

Disney sent us a copy of Maleficent to facilitate this review.

I love all things Disney and have been excited about the release of Maleficent.  It is now available on Blu-ray Combo Pack, Digital HD, Disney Movies Anywhere, DVD and On-Demand - just in time for the Holidays.

Synopsis -
Explore the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain in this wickedly fun twist on the classic “Sleeping Beauty.” In an unforgiving mood after a neighboring kingdom threatens her forest, Maleficent (Angelina Jolie) places an irrevocable curse on the king’s newborn daughter, the Princess Aurora. But as the child grows, Maleficent finds herself becoming fond of the girl. And as the conflict between the two realms intensifies, Maleficent realizes that Aurora may hold the key to peace in the land. Journey beyond the fairy tale in this soaring adventure that is “visually arresting, brilliantly designed” (Andrew Barker, Variety).

Our Thoughts-
To be honest, I was a little worried that Maleficent might be too scary for my littles.  Even with a PG rating, I decided to watch it first without them.  There were a few times where I sucked my breath in, but I felt like it was fine for them to watch.  Later that night, we all watched it together.  It even prompted us to talk more about being greedy and what it can do to you.

Before watching the movie, remember that this is Maleficent's side of the story.  It won't match up to exactly what happened in Sleeping Beauty and some of the characters are different than you'd think, but it is amazing.   We all enjoyed the movie - I personally liked her 'crow' the best.  If you're a fan of Disney like we are, be sure to grab a copy of Maleficent to learn her side of things.  It would make a fantastic gift for the Holidays!

I really want to see this! My boys think it is a "girly" movie. Hopefully I can change their mind and have them watch it with me!
