Discover Boating Memories This Summer

I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Discover Boating. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

If you've been on my blog at all, you know that we enjoy spending time in/on the water.  We bought a house on the lake two years ago and remodeled it just so that the water could be in our back yard.  We started going out on the boat in April and are still going strong.  We have family/friends over most weekends and have made some amazing memories already this summer.  This is one of my favorite pictures - my two oldest kids spending some quality time with my brother on the water tube.

One of our favorite things about summer on the lake is the fireworks.  There were several big fireworks shows for July 4th.  One was the weekend before, there were many people shooting the weekend of, and then there was even a huge show the weekend after.  Even before we lived on the lake, we took the boat out for these awesome displays and my kids talk about each year often.  We take my parents and/or siblings out with us and make it a family affair.  We get to sit, chat, and watch the sunset until it is time for the fireworks.  They timed this display to various patriotic songs on a local radio station.

Being on the water and going out on the boat keeps our entire family active.  I like that instead of sitting in front of the tv, we are out swimming and playing most of the day.  Evan(my almost 7 year old) managed to break his arm on the monkey bars a few weeks ago.  Thankfully there is an awesome product(which I will be sharing with you soon) that helped keep his cast dry so that he could still enjoy swimming and tubing on the lake.  Unfortunately he can't wakeboard or kneeboard the rest of the summer, but at least he can still get in the water.

If you enjoy going out on the boat, or are wanting to, DiscoverBoating.com has great resources and educational tools for boaters of all levels.  I am so thankful that we have the boat and all of the memories that come with it.  If you're thinking about it, check out this spousal conversion kit.

I haven't been out on a boat in ages. I remember going out as a little girl and it was so much fun!

My son broke his arm one summer right before we had a tubing trip planned. I'm glad you found a product so your son can still enjoy the water!

We love being on the water, but we've never tried tubing! My Dad used to have a boat when I was a kid, so I know exactly what kind of memories you are talking about! FUN!

I have always wanted to go tubing. I am so glad there is something that protects your son's cast so he can still have fun on the water this summer.

Gosh, I haven't been boating in years, I grew up on Long Island, so it was part of every summer as a kid!

I would totally get on a tube and go for a rip around the lake but until the kids are better swimmers they will just have to wait. Granted we don't have a boat or a lake... LOL!
Looks like you guys had fun!

My family had sailboats when I was a kid, so we were on the water all the time. I'm married now with a toddler, and we haven't had an opportunity to get out boating again, but I'm dying to do so! I've been looking into kayaks, because I really enjoy kayaking.
