Homemade Laundry Detergent UPDATE!!

Many of you questioned if this homemade liquid laundry detergent really works.  I promised you a follow up with pictures.  Sorry I'm a week late!  :-)

I love this detergent!!  I'm so pleased with the results.  A picture's worth a thousand words:

This stain was worse than it looks.  It was not just dirt ... it was mud!  Even better, I let it sit in the washing machine for more than a day before I actually washed it.

I promise I didn't use any pre-treatment or stain remover on these pants.  No Oxy Clean.  Nothing.  Just the homemade detergent.  Now I'm sure there will be stains requiring some kind of stain treatment, but your average. run-of-the-mill dirt and mud seem to lose the battle!

I calculated out that this detergent comes to about $0.17 per load.  If that doesn't convince you, then I have nothing else to say!  LOL

It took 30 minutes at most to make it, made 10 gallons, is so inexpensive, and WORKS!

Until next time,

Pam

great job! I trying making homemade detergent and it didn't work, I probably did something wrong. Now with 5 kids I should be making it to save money.
