Nintendo DS - Sesame Street: Elmo's Musical Monsterpiece + Giveaway

My kids enjoy playing video games together. Even if it is only a one player game, the child who isn't playing will sit behind the one who is cheering them on and giving them pointers. I like to encourage them to play games that make learning fun. Sesame Street: Elmo's Musical Monsterpiece is one of those games.
Sesame Street: Elmo's Musical Monsterpiece is a new game for the Nintendo Wii and DS that kids will be able to rock out with their favorite Sesame Street characters, engaging in activities that promote musical creativity and dancing. The game also manages to throw in a few activities designed to foster development of math skills through connections between math and music. The in-game music comes from eclectic Los Angeles band Ozomatli, who use a wide range of styles in their music – ideal for kids who need a lot of variety. Ozomatli is also no stranger to lending their work to the video game world, with songs featured in many prominent sports games, so their work should feel natural on these new Nintendo Wii and DS games. The game is simple enough for toddlers to play without too much help, but there is plenty of room for parents to get involved and get in some playtime with their kids.
All of my kids love music, so this game is a great fit at our house.  We still play with Once Upon A Monster from last year, so I knew that they would enjoy Elmo's Musical Masterpiece.  There aren't many games that Isabella can play well, but this game builds her confidence.  She often needs our help when playing most games, but she can play Elmo's Musical Monsterpiece while waiting in the car to pick up Evan all by herself.  The characters talk the kids through how to play during the games.

As I mentioned above, I want her playing games that help her learn.  As always, Sesame Street is a great way to make learning fun.  While there is a lot of music and instruments in the game, it also teaches children the basics such as counting and patterns.  It even has a parent's page where we can monitor what they're playing and learning.  Evan liked playing through it a few times, but he has started to get a little bored with it after time since he is older.  At 3, Isabella still enjoys the game very much and I'm impressed with what she takes away from the game.  As Kallie Jane gets old enough to play, I know that we will have this game to help her learn with confidence as well.

Sesame Street: Elmo's Musical Monsterpiece is available for Nintendo DS or Wii and would be perfect for preschoolers this holiday season.
