Mohawk Home Area Rug + Giveaway

As I write this, I want to point out that we still have the furniture from our old house.  Our new sofa and chair is being ordered and I will update these pictures once it arrives.  While I adore the look of hardwood floors, they aren't as "cozy" as carpet. We have hardwoods in the main living areas and our master, so I need rugs for the kids to play on. Mohawk sent us the Felicia Area Rug.

I had a hard time choosing a rug at first.  Mohawk had no rugs that were completely gray, black, and white. They were mostly brown or beige which isn't exactly what I was looking for.  The Felicia has some of the earth tones, but it still has the grays that will match and it is very neutral if I ever decide to change my colors.  I really liked it more in person than in the pictures. Again, the brown couch is our old furniture and will be replaced as soon as our new one arrives.

I then had to decide where it would go.  I put it in our living room for now since I desperately needed something for Kallie Jane to crawl around on.  The back of the rug was very rough, so I bought a rug pad to put under it to keep it from scratching my newly finished floors.

While I like it in my living room, I am getting a larger dining room table with 8 chairs and I think this will go great in the dining room.  The rug definitely gives the room a more finished look and it is large so our new dining room table should fit great.  Here is a "before" picture of our living room for fun.  I promise to show many before/after pictures soon, but my house is nowhere near finished and decorated.  This was before we bought the house and this is all of the previous owners' furniture.  Its amazing to think how far we've come in just a few short months!  The TV in my "after" picture above is in the corner behind where Isabella is in the picture below.  No more wood paneling and the floors had to be ripped up and replaced with new hardwoods.
