Brother P-touch Label Maker Test Challenge

I've never really had much experience with a Label Maker and was excited when Brother sent me their P-touch Label Test Challenge Kit. They claimed that their labelers create durable, laminated labels that can stand up to some of the toughest of conditions including heat and cold, rough handling, sunlight, water, and spills. Here is the kit that I received.

The kit contained several items to test the label's strength. Included was-
• P-touch label samples
• Plexi-glass block
• Nail polish remover
• Travel size bleach with palm brush
• Scrubber sponge

First I tried the Nail Polish remover and after scrubbing really hard, the label still looked perfect-even the print!

I then took the Travel size bleach and added a little water. I used the palm brush to scrub-especially on the edges, and the label didn't budge.

I used a bit of dish detergent and the scrubber sponge with the same result. Evan even scrubbed for a while.

It wasn't included in the kit, but I also put the plexi-glass through the dishwasher-on the bottom rack. I put it through the highest temperature wash and it came out looking perfectly.

As you can see, all my attempts to destroy the label failed. I am truly impressed with what this label can handle. My only concern now is what happens if you actually want to remove it!  I was also sent a label maker and was assigned a room to organize.  Stay tuned, because I will be writing posts about my experience and show pictures of my newly organized space!

P&G Game Time: Tackling the Past Family Movie Night - September 3rd On NBC

P&G and Walmart have been teaming up for several months to bring Family Movie Night right to your living room. I have had the opportunity to work with them since the beginning to get the word out and am very excited to tell you about their latest movie - Game Time: Tackling The Past. The movie will premiere Saturday, September 3 on NBC at 8pm ET/7pm CT.
Pro football star Jake Walker is just one season away from setting an all-time receiving record that will guarantee him a spot in the Hall of Fame. But when he gets news that his father has suffered a serious heart attack, Jake leaves training camp and returns to Riverton, the small hometown he's avoided for nearly 15 years. Past memories of glory and regret resurface as Jake is forced to reconnect with the family and community he abandoned in pursuit of his career. A call from his agent delivers another crushing blow - Jake's contract will not be renewed. Stripped from the thing he cares about most, the real Jake begins to emerge from behind his armor to see that life proves more than the accumulation of personal stats. But when he's offered a lucrative new contract with another team, he must decide whether to go back to the career he thought he loved, or stay in Riverton and embrace the people who have always been there for him.
I was given the opportunity to view a sneak peek at this movie before it premieres on Saturday. With football season coming up, this is a fantastic family night movie - especially for families with children who play team sports. Game Time: Tackling The Past was full of great life lessons that could spark a fantastic conversation with your children about playing on a team and what really matters in life.

I'm going to step out on a limb and say that this was probably one of my favorite P&G movies that I've seen. Its not "just another football movie" and actually deals more with a pro football player who is dealing with his own issues and doing what is right. As with all of the other P&G movies, it is family friendly with no foul language or sexual references.

Tune in on Saturday September 3rd with your family to watch Game Time: Tackling The Past. Be sure to follow the Family Movie Night Facebook page to keep up to date on the latest movies.

Check out the trailer while you're here!

HABA Toys - Habaland Play Blocks Review + Giveaway

If you've never heard of HABA, you need to click over and check them out now. They are a wood manufacturing company known for their high-quality baby and children's toys, as well as their children's games and furniture. We have had the pleasure of reviewing several of their toys and can vouch for the high quality of their products. They most recently sent us the Habaland Play Blocks.
These play blocks are perfect for the youngest. First they can take their time discovering the many different effects of the building blocks then they can create their first buildings. In no time at all they will build little houses or even a tower. The trees and the vehicle with trailer will animate the mini town. The conductor and the load in the trailer are removable. Contents: 25 pieces. Material: beech wood.
This set is extremely colorful and has everything to allow an imagination to soar.  Children as small as 1 can play with it, but my 4 year old enjoys it as well.  I love toys that grow with my kids.

The show stopper is definitely the car. Both kids like to build the town and then roll the car around it. Isabella even talks to the little guy as she pushes him in his car.

As most children do, Isabella and Evan adore knocking down the town and rebuilding a new one! They can play together with this set which always warms my heart to watch!

Prince Lionheart Wheely Bug Review + Giveaway

My kids adore chasing each other with ride-on toys. Our downstairs is very open with the staircase going up the center, so it's basically one big circle. When Prince Lionheart told me about their Wheely Bug, I knew it would be the perfect product for my children.

The Wheely Bug is available in 6 different patterns and 2 sizes that are for ages 1.5+ or 3+. We got the large size and even though it says for children 3+, Isabella(2) can ride it perfectly. From the pictures, I assumed the seat was simply painted wood, but it actually has a 1” layer of soft sponge and then is covered with the cow print fabric.

They both have an absolute blast on their Cow Wheely Bug. One child will ride it and the other will hop on something else to chase them.  They do have to pick up the handle when going from a hard surface to the carpet or rug because it just stops abruptly if it comes to any higher surface.  It is ideal for any flat, smooth surface, but we will keep it inside so the wheels don't get nicked and the fabric stays perfect.  The quality is absolutely fantastic and everyone that has come over comments on how cool our Cow Wheely Bug is!

Visit Prince Lionheart to learn more and to view everything that they have to offer.

Voice Rockrz Mic Review + Giveaway

As most kids do, Evan and Isabella both adore music. They both enjoy singing along to their favorite songs and dancing around the house. They constantly shout out for us to play different songs for them in the car - Black Eyed Peas is their favorite at this moment. I immediately said yes when given the opportunity to review the Voice Rockrz Mic from First Act.

Voice Rockrz is an innovative microphone that magically interacts with included accessories to transform your voice. Tap the accessories to the mic to unlock different voice effects: you’ll hit those soaring high notes with ease, hear your voice echo across the stadium, and transform into a rocking robot as the crowd cheers in amazement!
The microphone itself is completely awesome, but there are also accessories! Tap the ring to the Mic to activate the Hi-Note voice effect, tap the bracelet to the Mic for the Echo-Tastic voice effect, or tap the ring and bracelet in succession to uncover the Robot-Riffic voice effect. Evan cracked me up because when he was first in the Hi-Note voice effect, he looked around and asked if Isabella was talking.

Another awesome feature allows children to plug the Mic into an MP3 player or iPod so that they can sing along to their favorite songs. The Voice Rockrz Mic is for children ages 4+ and I completely agree with that age recommendation. While Isabella adores singing into the mic, she quickly loses the accessories which are key to making it change pitches.

Here is a quick video of Evan playing with it.  He sings Happy Birthday regular then touches the ring and bracelet.  After that I start the song on the iPod.

13 Weeks Pregnant

I am going to try and post every few weeks during this pregnancy so I don't forget everything like I did with my last two. I am officially 13w3d today and am completely amazed with how big I've gotten already in this pregnancy. In all fairness, I almost forgot about the 12 week picture and this was actually taken on my first day of 13 weeks.

LOL! Evan thought taking pictures with a sticker looked like too much fun so he got in on the action too.

I had an appointment on Wednesday and got to hear the heartbeat on the doppler for added reassurance. It was very strong at 160bpm. I was measuring right on the dot and go back on the 19th for another one.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this, but we are not planning to find out the gender. We have one of each and this will be our last, so I want suspense until the very end. :)

I was having some serious trouble sleeping between getting up to tinkle 500 times a night and my back hurting. I never hit that "really tired" phase during this pregnancy, but am finally sleeping a little better at night.

I know it sounds super early, but I've started to feel little movements. At first I chalked it up to gas, but after doing this twice before, I know that I'm starting to feel those first flutters from the baby. I started to feel Isabella around 15ish weeks and then Evan a little later than that. After talking to a few other moms, I don't feel so insane because many of them felt their 3rd(or more) child this early too.

Look What I Learned To Do...

I bought a sewing machine about two years ago on clearance with good intentions of learning to sew cute things for my baby girl. The sewing machine never made it out of the box. I was with my cousin the other day and she was talking about getting an embroidery machine. We talked about sewing for a bit and she agreed to teach me how!

I got my husband to take the sewing machine out of the attic and she came over the next day to teach me. She was here for about 2 1/2 hours and in between refereeing our 3 small children, I learned to sew and made my first project!  Isabella was in a horrible mood yesterday and would not stay still for me to take a picture.  She kept pulling at the ribbons and didn't want to have the dress on-this was the best shot I could get.

It's far from perfect, but I'm proud of my little pillow case dress. I used some clearance fabric that I found because I thought my first project would turn out awful, but it really wasn't bad! I look forward to learning more and using cuter fabric to make her some of these dresses.

I'm now in search of websites/blogs with great sewing ideas/tips and if you have any suggestions, please let me know!

Pediped Baby Shoes Review + Giveaway

Pediped is one of my favorite brand shoes for Isabella. Not only do they offer some of the cutest styles around, but they are made with comfort in mind. They were even recently awarded the American Podiatric Medical Association Seal of Acceptance for the promotion of healthy foot development. As many of you know, I am pregnant with #3 and have visions of baby shoes dancing in my head. Pediped sent me the Alyssa - Silver Glitter shoe from their originals line.
The soft, flexible soles of Originals® are recommended by pediatricians and podiatrists because they allow children to closely mimic barefoot walking. Originals® are made of the highest quality leather on the market today and also feature a soft foam insert between leather layers. They are so comfortable, your child will not want to take them off!
The Originals line is made specifically for babies 0-24 months old.  I adore the Alyssa shoes, they have all the comforts that come with being an Original, but they're also super cute.  These little silver shoes would go with so much in a baby girl's fall/winter wardrobe.

The Velcro Mary Jane strap makes them easy to put on or take off. The bottoms are comfortable and perfect for those babies that are mastering the art of walking. They also come in this really adorable box that is perfect for gift giving.

Pediped has a fantastic selection of shoes. Not only do they have a large variety of baby shoes, but they also carry shoes for children up to 8 years old! They are sold in over 3000 stores in the United States and 40 countries worldwide with more than 120 designs for boys and girls.
