Music Videos and Performances from The Twilight Saga Soundtracks Review + Giveaway - FOUR WINNERS

I'm sure by now you know someone that is caught up in the "Twilight Craze". While I thought the books were fantastic and the movies entertaining, I'm not near as fanatic as my sister is! She was thrilled when I gave her my copy of Music Videos and Performances from The Twilight Saga Soundtracks.

Performance List:
1. Muse - Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)
2. Paramore - Decode
3. Death Cab For Cutie - Meet Me On The Equinox
4. Cee Lo Green - What Part Of Forever
5. Anya Marina - Satellite Heart
6. MuteMath - Spotlight
7. Lupe Fiasco - Solar Midnite
8. Editors - No Sound But The Wind
9. The Magic Numbers & Amadou & Mariam - All I Believe In
10. Collective Soul - Tremble For My Beloved
11. Eastern Conference Champions - A Million Miles An Hour
12. Metric - Eclipse (All Yours)
13. Fanfario - Atlas
14. Iron & Wine - Fightless Bird. American Mouth
15. Sia - My Love
16. Bon Iver & St. Vincent - Roslyn
17. Sea Wolf - The Violet Hour
18. The Black Ghosts - Full Moon
19. Hurricane Bells - Monsters
20. O.A.R. - Love Is Worth The Fall

This “visual soundtrack” pairs songs from the Twilight Saga films' hit and Grammy-nominated albums with new, never-before-seen music videos by its popular artists. I had never seen many of these music videos and was excited to get a chance to view them.

My sister was a little disappointed that it didn't have more scenes from the movies, but I was in it more for the musical aspect. It lasts about 100 minutes and you have the option for continuous play - kind of like a CD.

This would make a great addition for Twilight Fans. Anyone who enjoys music would probably like it as well!

Crest Pro-Health Invigorating Clean Multi-Protection Rinse Test Drive Program

I believe that Oral Hygiene is very important. I do pretty well about brushing my teeth twice a day, but I am not always so good about using Mouth Rinse or flossing. I have good intentions, but with two little kids pulling me in different directions, it often gets overlooked. I am excited to be part of the Crest Pro-Health Invigorating Clean Multi-Protection Rinse Test Drive.

New Crest Pro-Health Invigorating Clean Multi-Protection Rinse gives you an invigorating clean that lets you know you’re working toward a better dental check-up—not to mention 6 benefits in 1.

Benefits:
- Kills germs
- Reduces plaque buildup
- Helps prevent and reduce gingivitis for healthy gums
- Fight bad breath
- Keep teeth cleaner longer, versus brushing alone
- Invigorating sensation

I'm excited to be part of this program because I want to get better about rinsing.  It only takes a few seconds to do so and it makes my mouth more healthy and clean.  Even though getting ready with two small children can be challenging, I should always take the few seconds for Oral Hygiene!  I will be using it for the next month and will report back on how I did as well as my thoughts on the product.

I wrote this review while participating in a test drive campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Crest and received a sample to facilitate my candid review. Mom Central Consulting sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.

I Found The Silver Lining

There is always a reason to be positive and find "The Silver Lining" in everything. If you're new or have missed it - my mom has cancer. She had surgery almost 4 weeks ago and the surgery that she had makes it where she can't stand or even sit up straight for longer than a few minutes. She is just now healing from that last surgery.

As I've mentioned before, we live in the south and take any excuse to make someone a meal and take it over to them. We do it if you have a baby, are sick, had someone pass away, or "just because". Since my mom has "been out of commission", I've been spending a lot of time over there during the day to help out. As luck would have it, I just happen to be there when people have brought some seriously yummy food!

About a week or so ago, I told my mom that if there is a "silver lining" in all of this, it is the desserts. This, my friends, was a lemon cake with buttercream icing. #CompleteDietFailButOhSoYummySoIDontCare

Evan usually eats cake by only eating the icing.  Not this cake. He ate the icing AND the cake - seriously - it was that good.  I called the woman who brought this cake as soon as I had the first bite and thanked her profusely.

Tonka Chuck & Friends “Big Air Dare” DVD Review + Giveaway

Evan is a huge fan of Tonka toys. We have purchase all of the sets to the Tonka Chuck Stunt Park and my kids set them up all the time. A book came with the set we were given and he asks for it to be his "bedtime story" almost every night. He was absolutely thrilled when this box of goodies arrived for the Tonka Chuck & Friends “Big Air Dare” DVD.

He wanted to watch the DVD immediately, but we were leaving the house.  He had to take it with us even though he couldn't watch it until we got back.

CHUCK THE DUMP TRUCK and FLIP THE RACE TRUCK meet for the first time. Each truck shares his special talents. Chuck is great at lifting and building. Flip can race fast and do incredible stunts. Competition sparks, and the trucks challenge each other to a contest. Chuck creates a stunt course and tries to do better tricks than Flip. Flip builds a tall tower and tries to climb higher than Chuck. In the end, the trucks learn a valuable lesson: they need each other to succeed. Will the trucks become friends? Find out in this action-packed adventure!

The true test of a DVD around here is if they watch the whole thing and ask to watch it again.  Since the DVD is for kids over 12 months, I was concerned that he might not like it.  I was so wrong.  He loves this DVD and asked to watch it over and over again for a week.  We had to take it to Gi-Gi's house so she could see it too.  He was so excited to have a movie that featured his favorite characters from the book that we read him every night.

He was also so excited about the books and other toys that arrived with the DVD.  He is still amazed by the sticker book and is always pulling it out to play with it and make up his own stories.  It is fantastic for his huge imagination.

Isabella recognized the characters from the movie because my kids love to play with the stunt park together.  She got so excited and danced around when she first saw them.  As I've told you many times, my baby girl will not sit still long enough to watch TV, but she did stay around long enough to share in Evan's excitement of seeing Tonka Chuck and his friends on the screen!

Tonka Chuck & Friends “Big Air Dare” would make a great addition to your toddler or preschooler's collection!  At 3 1/2, this DVD quickly became one of my son's favorites.  The DVD is adorable and parents will love it as well.

Banana Crumb Cake Recipe

I am a huge banana fan and love to bake with them. Up until now, my favorite Banana recipe was the Banana Blueberry Bread, but now it is tied with this one. I was flipping through my Southern Plate cookbook - yum - and had all of the ingredients, so I made it.

I took some to my parent's house later that day and we have all been in love with this recipe ever since! If you like bananas - this recipe will not disappoint and you will quickly be addicted.

Her recipe tells you to make it in (2)8x8's so you can share, but I make it in a 9x13 every time! :)

Banana Crumb Cake

* 2C sugar
* 1 C milk
* 1 C chopped nuts (optional-I use pecans)
* 2 C self rising flour
* 1 stick margarine
* 2 eggs
* 3 bananas
* 1 tsp vanilla

Crumb Topping
* 1 stick (1/2 c) Margarine
* 1 Cup brown sugar (dark or light)
* 1 cup flour (self rising or plain, whatever you have on hand)

Spray two loaf or 8×8 pans with cooking spray(I use a 9x13). Place peeled bananas in mixing bowl, add sugar. Mix until bananas are liquefied. Add margarine, mix until creamed together with banana mixture. Add all other ingredients and blend well.

In medium bowl, place all topping ingredients. Cut together with a long tined fork until well blended. Pour 1/4 of batter into each pan, top with 1/4 crumb mixture(If using a 9x13, pour half of batter, top with half of crumb mixture and repeat). Pour remaining batter over and top with remaining crumb mixture. Bake for 45 minutes to an hour at 350(Since I used a 9x13, it was more like 50 minutes).

Cake is done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

This cake is extremely moist and the crumble top is so yummy!  We eat this for breakfast - or as a snack. :)  I even ate it for lunch the other day.  It is very filling and something that the whole family will eat.

Chugginton Wooden Railway Train Set Review + Giveaway

As promised, I have more traintastic news from Chuggington! Your trainees will be thrilled to learn that there is now a Chugginton Wooden Railway playset! We were sent the Chuggington Over & Under Starter Set, the Double-Decker Roundhouse, the Track Pack, and the Elevated Track Pack.

Evan was thrilled when this box of goodies arrived. We had to open it immediately and this is the track that daddy and the kids put together.

The Double Decker Roundhouse was a huge hit because there was so much that they could do with it. You can load the trains in the lower half, or push the red button and the platform pops up to the top deck!

You can also take the top deck off and make it just one big circle on one level. The top level can even be used somewhere else down the track so you have two separate places to load trains.

These are the two trains that we got with the wooden track. I absolutely love that the attachment is magnetic so my kids can put them together easily. I also like that it has their names on the bottoms!

The kids have spent hours playing with their new Chuggington Wooden Railway. They can change the tracks around and eventually we will buy more so they can make it larger. They have so much fun putting the trains at the top of the bridge or the Over & Under Set and watching them fly down.

Isabella cracks me up because she also has such a love for "Choo Choos" now! She gets so excited every time we see a chuggington train!

My kids absolutely love their Chuggington sets and can have unlimited fun because the tracks can be added to. My only issue is that the trains to my other sets don't fit with the track. The train to the wooden set has the magnetic attachment(which is so much easier for my kids), but it won't work with the other trains that we already have. As you can see in this picture, all of the trains from past Chuggington sets that I reviewed are all different sizes! The trains from the interactive railway will fit on the track, but they can't be used with the trains from the wooden set because the attachments are different.

Check out my other Chuggington Reviews while you're here!

Buy It!
You can purchase the Chuggington Over & Under Starter Set for $49.99, the Double-Decker Roundhouse for $99.99, the Track Pack for $39.99, and the Elevated Track Pack for $39.99. There are several different Chuggington Wooden Railway Playsets available, so be sure to visit Chuggington to learn more.

Aloha Friday

It's Aloha Friday over at An Island Life! Answer my question and make sure you post one on your blog. After that, go relax because today is Friday!!

What was your favorite game to play as a child?
I'd have to put this as a toss up of Candy Land and Uno. I have been playing Candy Land a lot lately with Evan and I remember playing that game over and over again with my parents.

My Mama's Macaroni And Cheese Recipe

The problem with different versions of the same dish is that I'm usually going to like the ones closest to how my Mama made it. It was what I was raised on and I have tried different types, but always go back to Mama's! :) It also happens to be a huge hit for anyone else that we make it for!  Southerners take food to anyone that has been sick, had a baby, had someone pass away, or really just to say "Hey!".  This is a side that we always make.

We also don't measure out our ingredients so many of the recipes that I share are my best guess at the amounts we use.

Ingredients:
-1 box of elbow macaroni - cooked
-salt and pepper to taste
-can of evaporated milk
-1 egg
-Tbsp of flour
-3-4 cups of cheese(we LOVE cheese so its more like 4)
-Milk(you can add as little or as much as you want to make it "runny" or not-we usually add 1/3 or more)
-4-5 tablespoons on butter

Instructions:
Mix the first 6 ingredients together(we mix it together in the pan we're going to cook it in to save a bowl).  Add in milk until it is the consistency you'd want(we usually do 1/3-1/2 cup). Separate the butter into tablespoon sized pats and place 4-5 on top of the mixed ingredients.  Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes. We like ours "runny", so if you like yours more "hard", leave it in there a few more minutes.

Mommy SOS - Taking The Plunge And Need Advice

I've mentioned it on facebook, but I need more help. I have a 2008 Ford Escape right now and I need a larger car.  I have a much younger sister that often rides with us and she can barely fit between the car seats.  We plan on trying for #3 soon and there is no way I'll be able to fit 3 carseats in my backseat!  I was going to get a larger SUV and have sworn I'd never own a van, but with gas prices going up, it seems like the most sensible thing to do.

SO, I'm taking the plunge. I'm going to buy a mommy van. At 25 years old, I'm going to turn into a soccer mom...

Here's where you come in. I need help deciding what kind and what features are a "must have" and what I can do without. I think I've decided on a Grand Caravan or Town And Country, but I'm stumped on some of the features. I know that I want a DVD player and stow and go, but other than that, I'm not sure. I think that I want power sliding doors, but I'm seeing that usually means several thousand more. I need your advice!!

Spring Cleaning With Clorox ToiletWand System Review + Giveaway

Spring is officially here and between spring cleaning and keeping our house "show ready", I'm always looking for products to make cleaning a breeze. Clorox is one of my favorite brands that I turn to that keeps my house disinfected. I was excited to try out the Clorox ToiletWand System.

Featuring disposable heads loaded with Clorox® cleaner, the Clorox® ToiletWand™ System covers more surface area in your bowl and under the rim than traditional toilet brushes.

How It Works:
- Open pouch of disposable cleaning heads and push handle straight down onto cleaning head unit until clicks into place.

- Dip cleaning head in toilet bowl water for 1-2 seconds. Scrub entire toilet bowl above water line.

- When finished, to release excess water, press cleaning head against the toilet bowl and slide blue button forward to release head into trash bin.

- Flush to rinse toilet. Do not flush cleaning head. Slide Clorox® ToiletWand™ System handle into caddy for easy storage.

Our Thoughts:
The ToiletWand system is extremely easy to use. It leaves my toilet sparkly clean and my bathroom smelling fresh. I love that it comes with a stand to keep it all within reach of my toilet.
