Pediped Shoe Spring And Summer 2011 Collection

We are huge fans of Pediped Shoes. We've owned several different styles and they hold up extremely well. The Spring/Summer collection of Pediped Shoes debuts with the new Adventure Line, an innovative collection of eco-friendly, machine washable, water-safe shoes. The new collection, an expansion of the popular pediped® Flex® line, offers style, protection and comfort both in and out of the water. The Spring/Summer 2011 collection is pediped’s largest and most innovative to date featuring more than 75 new styles across pediped® footwear's three lines, Originals®, Grip ‘n’ Go™ and Flex®.

We were sent the Amazon Purple Flex Shoes for Isabella.

The Amazon is the perfect shoe for adventurous kids. Mud, surf, sand, this shoe can withstand anything! The Amazon is made with eco-friendly materials that are not only good for your child, but the environment too.

The machine washable shoes are lighter weight and more flexible than other waterproof shoes available on the market.

Features:
• All natural rubber sole
• Water-safe shoe that features toe caps and Velcro straps that make this shoe perfect for any outdoor activity
• Machine washable
• Water-safe
• Approved by the American Podiatric Medical Association for promoting healthy foot development

Our Thoughts:
I didn't get a choice in style or color on these shoes and to be honest, I am not a fan as far as looks go. Isabella has very few purple items and these just don't match much of her wardrobe. With that being said, she can still wear them in the backyard, around the pool, on the boat, and possibly at the beach. I like to match her outfits and swimsuits to the shoes she's wearing(one of the perks of having a girl), and was a little disappointed that these won't match much.

Even though I'm not a fan of the look, I am impressed with how practical they are.  My absolute favorite thing is that these are machine washable!  Kids are messy and mine are always tromping through mud and dirt that destroy their shoes.  As an added bonus, it is made with eco-friendly materials so I'm doing my part in "going green".

We are in some sort of water basically every day during the summer.  Having waterproof shoes is a must and these are extremely light.  They don't hold water and my baby girl can play without being weighed down.  I know that I can put her in these this summer while playing in the backyard or walking along the water's edge and she won't be messing up any of her other shoes.  If they get messy, I can simply throw them in the wash.

Be sure to visit Pediped to learn more and to view their full selection.  Check them out on Facebook or Twitter to stay up to date.

Aloha Friday

It's Aloha Friday over at An Island Life! Answer my question and make sure you post one on your blog. After that, go relax because today is Friday!!

What are gas prices where you are?
I got gas at the "cheap" station yesterday and it was $3.10. I'm thinking we won't have as many boat days/wont ride out as far this year with gas prices going up!

Prince Lionheart Multi-purpose CatchALL Review + Giveaway

Let's face it, kids are messy. I attribute this to their "creative process", and have no problem with the messiness. Thanks to the new Prince Lionheart Mult-purpose Catchall, cleanup is much easier.

Cleaning up after meals and playtime just got easier! The Catch-All floor cover catches ALL messes that fall while little eaters learn to self-feed and junior artists let their imaginations go during craft time. Makes clean up time quick and easy.

Features:
Coated with EVA, this mat is easy to wipe clean
• Protects floors and carpets
• Fits underneath most high chairs and play tables
• Generously sized - 48” diameter
• Great for home and away
• Easy to clean, laminated cotton

Isabella loves to throw her food on the floor when she feels like she is done.  Having the Catchall mat means cleanup is simply me shaking the contents into the trash.  Here you can get a better idea of size with Isabella in her chair.  The size is perfect to fit under the table and catches most of the food she slings.

I often wish that this came in different sizes.  While this size is good for under the table/high chair, I really could use a larger one for times when my kids are both eating pop corn or other snacks.  Having a mat under them makes the process so much easier because popcorn is all over the place by the time Isabella gets done.

Our weather is pretty warm here compared to most, so we usually take our art projects outside.  My kids love to sling paint all over the place, but as they get older, the CatchALL Mat will be perfect to put under their easel while painting to catch any drips.

The Prince Lionheart Multi-purpose CatchALL is a very gender neutral color and doesn't scream, "look at me". It easily folds or rolls up to take to grandma's or anywhere else when we are trying to save floors from our kids. As mentioned before, I hope that they'll offer larger sizes in the future and different prints would be fun as well. The great thing is that you can use them over and over again and they are easy to tote around the house or anywhere else!

Visit Prince Lionheart to learn more and to view everything that they have to offer.

Timmy Time: Timmy Steals the Show DVD Review + Giveaway

For the first time on DVD, Timmy Time: Timmy Steals the Show debuts today, February 22,2011.

Synopsis:
A new preschool star is here! The Oscar®-winning creators of Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep show off their all-new preschool play group, with adorable adventures showcasing Timmy and his young friends! Fun, laughter and surprises take center stage when Timmy performs groovy dance moves, genuine acts of kindness, and also learns the true meaning of saying "I'm sorry." So grab your front row seats for play time with Timmy and his nursery friends in these five lovable tales.

Episodes:

“Timmy Steals the Show” - While bossing everybody around during rehearsals for the nursery’s talent show, diva Yabba loses her voice! Yabba is crestfallen that she may not able to perform, but Timmy saves the day by performing for her.

“Timmy’s Picnic”
- The class is off on a picnic! But during a game of soccer, the ball bursts on Apricot’s spikes. Apricot feels guilty that the little animals no longer have a ball to play with, but soon finds a good use for her prickly spikes – picking up the picnic litter!

“Timmy Brings a Smile” - Apricot has brought her favorite blanket to the nursery – of which she will not let go! But when she briefly puts it down, the other animals mistake it for a rag which they use to clean up paint and mud. Timmy tries to console Apricot with substitutes, until he discovers a pleasant surprise in Stripey’s sand pie!

“Timmy Can’t Dance” - Led by Harriet and Osbourne, the class is exploring various dance styles, from hula dancing to line dancing. But Timmy just cannot get into the groove! He soon discovers a passion for hip-hop music and wows his friends with his break-dancing moves.

“Timmy Says Sorry” - Timmy accidentally kicks a soccer ball through the preschool window! After a time out, he tries to be more careful, but ends up knocking down Otus’ sandcastle with a careless kick of the ball. After much soul searching, Timmy realizes it’s not enough to say sorry, you have to show you’re sorry, too.

Bonus Features:
Timmy Time Sing-Along

Our Thoughts:
As I've stressed several times, Isabella is not a TV watcher.  She normally watches 1-2 minutes at most before she is off doing something else.  Recently that has changed.  We popped this DVD in and she ran in front of the TV as soon as the Timmy Time song came on.  She stayed there for at least 10 minutes before moving.  It has been a week since she first saw it and it is still the only show she will watch.

Up until about a month or go, Evan wasn't a huge fan of Timmy Time, but he has been asking to see it more and more.  I don't know what it is about this show, but it manages to capture both of my kids' attention.  The DVD has a run time of about 45 minutes and is a great addition to our collection!

Mexican Pizza Recipe

This is a quick and easy recipe that can be changed to add anything you want. We used to make it pretty often, but since I have been trying new things, we haven't made it in a few months. I got Pillsbury Pizza Dough on sale and decided to make it last night.

Ingredients:
Again, this is a recipe where you can use as little or as much as you want.  Here are the basics.
- 1 pizza dough(I use Pillsbury thin crust)
- 1 -1/2 pounds hamburger meat, ground turkey, or shredded chicken
- 1 can of refried beans
- 1 can of black beans
- 1 can of corn
- 1-2 cups of cheese(I usually use the Mexican blend or some sort of white cheese, but I only had cheddar yesterday)
-lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, salsa, guacamole, etc, etc, etc for toppings.

Preheat oven to 350. Saute half an onion(if wanted) then brown your hamburger meat, turkey meat, or you can use shredded chicken. Mix with a packet of taco seasoning as directed.

Spray pan with cooking spray. Spread your pizza dough to cover pan.

Spread can of re-fried beans over pizza dough.  I leave about 1/2-1 inch of crust on all sides as you would a pizza.  I used to use a spoon to spread the re-fried beans, but it is so much easier just to use your hands.

Pile on the toppings.  I use the meat, black beans, corn, and cheese.  Put in oven for about 10-15 minutes or until sides start to brown.

I then add lettuce and tomatoes.  Only Isabella and I like tomatoes, so I only add it to one side.

I wait until I put them on plates to add the toppings such as sour cream and salsa.  You'll want to eat it with a fork.  This makes enough for my family of four to eat twice, so we have leftovers for lunch or dinner another night.

Our Thoughts:
Even though this DVD set is geared more towards the girls, Evan loves watching it too.  Isabella still doesn't like to watch much TV, but she stops to watch when someone is singing.  There were many parts of these DVDs that caught her attention.  Evan has really been into all things school lately, so that Barney DVD was his favorite.

With over 3 hours of favorites, these DVDs are sure to impress.  I personally am a fan of Angelina Ballerina and had already seen this one, but this was the first time that I had seen Fifi and the Flowertots.  They were really cute and my kids enjoyed them.  This 4 DVD set is a fantastic addition to our collection.

Buy It!
