K'NEX Farmyard Friends Set + Lincoln Logs - Fort Hudson

My siblings are much younger than I am, so the closest thing I had was my cousin who is just three weeks older than me. We were together all of the time and one thing we always agreed on was playing with blocks. I now get excited when I see my kids using their imaginations to build their own creations. K'NEX sent us their Farmyard Friends Building Set and the Fort Hudson Lincoln Logs to feature in the gift guide.

I was most excited about the Lincoln Logs - simply because they brought back memories of my cousin and I playing with them as children. The Fort Hudson set came with these 70 pieces.

There was a little booklet that showed step-by-step instructions on how to build the fort.

My kids both liked the little man that was included. They even found one of their little horses to put in the fort. I feel like Lincoln Logs are very easy for children to build with and the possibilities are endless.

The Farmyard Friends Building Set was perfect for Isabella. Even though it is recommended for ages 3+, at 2 years old, she can play with these. It comes with 47 fun pieces.

The box is supposed to house the pieces, but it is cardboard and I have visions of my kids ripping the handles off soon. We'll just throw the pieces in with a similar set that we already own. The back of the box has a few fun ideas, but kids can let their imaginations run wild with these pieces.

Visit K'NEX to learn more and to view all of their gift ideas. They have sets for pre-schoolers on up to ages 9 and over!

This was not a paid post and honest opinions were used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. Thank you to the company and/or pr agency who supplied the products for the review.

I bought the Lincoln Log special edition a couple years ago for my grandgirls. They really didn't show an interest in it (I think they were too young) But their Dad did. LOL Also: it came with one of the roof parts missing which was kind of a bummer.
It sits in G'ma's toy box until they get a bit older. They are 2 and 4 now.

bringing me back! Love it. :)

Hi. No, I never contacted anyone about the missing roof piece and I'm sure they would have been very helpful. It was actually pretty fitting that a roof piece was missing as I have lived with a leaky, flat, roof on my home for years. LOL Amazing what one gets used to.
But thanks for replying to me.

Great review! I too loved the Lincoln Logs when I was a child. I bought them for my children because I liked thems so much growing up AND they improve children's hand-to-eye skills and creativity. My youngest son would love the Farmyard Friends Set because he loves visiting his Grandpa who is a farmer. He especially loves all the animals.

My brothers and I played with Lincoln Logs and we were never bored. Now it's my granddaughter & her cousins who love to play with blocks. The K'Nex Farmyard Friends Building set and the Fort Hudson Lincoln Logs set look like fun for them. I like to watch them use their imaginations to build things and also LOVE that no batteries are needed!
