Cars 2 Released On Blu-ray & DVD 11/1

I could probably recite Cars by memory. It is a favorite at our house that gets watched often. We went to see Cars 2 on "the big TV" when it came out in theaters. Evan has been asking to get it on Blu-ray ever since. Cars 2 was is now available on Blu-ray & DVD as of today, November 1st.

Star racecar Lightning McQueen and the incomparable tow truck Mater take their friendship to exciting new places in “Cars 2” when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car. But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage. Mater finds himself torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret mission orchestrated by master British super spy Finn McMissile and the stunning rookie field spy Holley Shiftwell. Mater’s action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world. The fast-paced fun includes a colorful new all-car cast, complete with menacing villains and international racing competitors.

Sequels often tend to not be near as good as the originial, but that is not the case for Cars 2. I think this movie was just as good(if not better) than the first. Cars 2 kept our whole family entertained and Mater had us rolling on the floor.  My kids have watched the movie many times since it arrived last week and I enjoy watching it just as much as they do!

It is hard to pick a favorite part with this movie. There are so many great clips. I personally like when Mater first gets to Japan - he is hilarious. Evan likes when Mater and Lightening McQueen hang out.  I wish I would have known about these recipes when we watched Cars 2 at home for the first time.

Evan also likes Toy Story and was excited to see the bonus feature short - Toy Story "Hawaiian Vacation". There is also another short Cars Toon - "Air Mater" that had us laughing.

Here are some activities to get your racer excited about Cars 2. Be sure to like Cars on Facebook to stay up to date.

My daughter LOVES Cars, and she's never even seen it! She has some of the books though so I guess she knows the story a little. She mostly just plays with the characters on her own though. She loves them so much and her own stories are so cute that I'm on the fence as far as showing her the movie. I think I'll buy it to have it but wait to show it to her til she's older. She just makes up the cutest stories with her own little Cars!

In this sequel Mater reminds me of a Mr. Magoo character. He’s so impressionable and really screws things up. I love how they made this a two act movie the way the conflict grows to a peak which reminded me of many other formulas in successful movies today like with superhero movies. I saw this movie in the theater but my kids didn’t get go come. I can’t wait to rent it from Blockbuster with my Movie Pass because then they can see it and I know they’ll love it as much as my wife and I did. It comes out Oct. 11th and I can put it in my queue before it’s even available to rent and Not only that but the Blockbuster Movie Pass from DISH Network that is free for new customers gives me one bill from DISH, over 100,000 movies plus games, streaming and I also get 20 movie channels on my DISH employee account as a current customer for only $10 a month. Next on my queue is X-Men: First Class and I don’t have to pay extra for mail to my home, or Blue-ray.
