Pregnancy Update + A Quick Question

I wish this pregnancy would slow down a little. I am 19w2d and with this being our last, I'm cherishing every kick. I started feeling those first flutters at around 12-13 weeks and am now getting harder kicks and nudges. This morning I was able to feel baby kick from the outside when I pushed on my tummy. Tonight I'm going to try and get baby moving around so hubby can feel it for the first time.

The plan was to not find out the gender. I've been trying to talk my husband into not finding out for months. I thought the suspense would be fun to keep up until the end, but he wants to know. I also admit that I would love to start shopping for this baby. With all of that said, we find out what baby #3 is on Monday!!

So here is my question - Have your babies always cooperated during gender scans? Both of my kids showed their girl/boy parts quickly, but I know that isn't always the case.

I find out tomorrow what we are having and I'm so nervous it won't cooperate! This is my third also and my first two always cooperated and showed us. I hope this one is nice to us and lets us see!

I don't know why I had to post the first comment as anonymous. Sorry this is Kate and my blog is wesandkatrinasouthwick.blogspot

Johnny wouldn't cooperate. Luckily the technician made up an excuse for me to come back since my insurance wouldn't cover it otherwise.

Gavin was cooperative but the first girl told us he was a girl. The Dr. had to come in and look at him closely since he was breech and congratulated us on our boy since we signed the want to know slip.

Clearly we spoke up very confused. After that visit we were too nervous to go shopping so we waited til the next one. With a breech baby we had regular U/S's so we knew it was a boy pretty well after that.

We found out that Kynlee was a girl at around 14wks. Of course we didn't confirm it until a few weeks later, just to be sure! My sister does ultrasounds so I was able to get scanned a lot, and we had plenty of opportunities to see the lady parts!

I always couldnt wait it would have probably killed me lol. All three of mine we were able to find out. What a special day enjoy!

Wow, that is going fast! Abby cooperated for the gender part of the ultrasound, but not for another part. I think it was the heart. We had to come back a week later. Her heart was fine and it was nice to confirm that she was in fact a girl! LOL!

I know they could tell on both of my kids without a problem, but I only wanted to know on the second one.

First one, yes. This one..we'll see!

Mouse proudly showed his bits & pieces! And that he had bits & pieces was really a surprise to me. I had been convinced he was a she prior to that because I kept having girl-baby dreams. Go figure!

I'm old enough to have had my son before ultrasound machines were on carts in the doctor's office! They were in hospitals and only used for risky pregnancies. So everything you bought or received before the baby was born needed to be gender neutral.

6 kids and all--boys are girls were all out in the open

All three of mine were cooperative. I had hoped that one of the boys would have been a second girl, but nope. They were all found out correctly. Congrats on baby # 3 :-)

My little man showed his parts at every ultra sound! Haha Hope you see the goods! ;)

They knew right away with the U.S. that we were having boys.

It took a few shakes by the sonographer to get our little guy to move his legs so we could see what was going on down there (he had his legs crossed and was sleeping peacefully). Good luck!

I only have one son and during the normal ultrasound, he "showed it off." So yes.

All three girls showed their parts (with the first two, we had the picture taken and sealed in an envelope that we opened after they were born!)

My daughter had her "booty" to the screen every sonogram that I had so we didn't know for sure with her. She keep her legs together like a "proper lady"..hahaha My son on the other hand let his glory shine the first test. I think it depends on the baby. Congratulations to you and your husband!

Where I live in BC, the hospital won't tell you the gender. (They also didn't let my husband in till the last 10 minutes, when they took the one or two pics they put on DVD for us to buy before we left; made me feel a bit like a tourist attraction.)

I didn't want to know, anyway, so it doesn't matter, but at one point, the tech said, "There's the tush!" and pointed it out--and then the baby moved, and she moved the picture pretty quickly, so I assumed that the gender was probably noticeable.

Good luck ~ no sonagrams for first pregnancy ~
second was very obviously a boy ~ good luck and God bless you and your family.

We didn't find out with our first and it was the best surprise! It was also nice because instead of getting a ton of boy or girl clothes, we got all of our big items on our registry. The clothes came after our daughter was born. We chose to find out with the second one because I wanted to be prepared if it was a boy, and it was! So I was able to reuse all of our neutral stuff from our first baby and then just stock up on boy clothes. Worked out awesome!! We are pretty sure we're done having kids but if we were to have a third, I would totally want it to be a surprise again since we already have stuff for both a boy and a girl.

Wow how exciting!!! I love the baby kicks!! Our daughter would never kick though whenever I'd want someone to feel! lol...I had the BEST baby doctor in the whole world (sorry ladies) who still answers all my questions after 6 years. If anyone ever needs an answer to a baby question check him out on facebook!

He told me to drink a little bit of Mountain Dew so I wouldn't have trouble finding the sex of the baby when I went. He said it aggravates the ultrasound tech but you'll definitely find out! We had no problem finding the sex the first time lol. We got some really good ultrasound pics.

My daughter is due in less than a week with her third child as well. Her first ultra sound they could NOT tell the sex & she was devastated!! She really wanted a girl as she has two boys. She decided on a second ultra sound (3D) and we are having our first girl!!! Congrats to you.

My children were not shy, but I have heard from some of my other mom friends that their babies were not always cooperative. Some would have their legs crossed or whatnot, so you could not see.

I always "knew" before. Both times it took a few minutes for them but then it was HELLLLLLLO!!

With #1, we didn't find out and didn't want to. With #2, we wanted to know so we could be prepared and it turned out that we would've known even if we didn't want to. The tech was scanning across to see position to start and it was like a guy sitting on a xerox machine! Our Little Man was SO proud to be a boy. With #3, I wanted to know (again to prepare) but it took some doing. Our Peanut was very modest and didn't want to reveal without some coaxing.

We were able to tell both of mine were girls very quickly! With our first, I wanted to wait bc I wanted a surprise, but the hubby wasn't having it so we found out she was a girl! I'm glad too bc the whole time I was thinking she was a boy!

We are really happy we found out that we are having a little girl. She cooperated for the gender scan. Congrats!!

Tell me about it. This may or may not be our last (He says yes, I say maybe). And I'm 28.5 weeks already!!! It is majorly flying by.

My daughter was super stubborn and we didn't find out what she was. I hated the suspense and would never do that again if I didn't have to. And this little boy was as spread as an eagle. She scanned over and there were no doubts that it was a little man.

I have 4 kids. My fist two (both girls) cooperated easily. The 2nd two were both boys and we did not find out the sex with them. It was so awesome not finding out the sex. Not that having a baby is not fun, but it is so cool the first time they announce it :)

Congrats :)

I'm just a little farther along than you and we found out we're having another girl. Both of them cooperated during the scans, and my ultrasound tech is also really great. I feel very confident that this one is also a girl. You are far enough along now that they should easily be able to tell what it is (although there is always the chance) but I bet they'll be able to tell. I could never wait to be surprised; I want to shop!

i didn't find out with Sabreena, my doctor then didn't think it was necessary ><
Shaun and Shae cooperated and I knew with them. I like to know the gender, it makes things so much easier.
