Update On My Mom

If you're new around here, my mom has cancer. I've been pleasantly overwhelmed by the emails and messages from those of you checking up on her over the past few months. If you missed it, the surgery did not get all of the cancer. Much to my dismay, she continued to put off the next surgery but is still in a good amount of pain and finally scheduled it a few weeks ago.

The doctor that specializes in her type of cancer only does surgery on one day out of the week, so she couldn't get in until the end of July. I'm praying like crazy that they get it all this time!  Since some of what is left is still cancerous, it hasn't healed properly which causes her to still be in pain.

I want to express again how thankful I am of all the prayers and positive thoughts that are continuously pouring in!

Dee, I will definitely pray for her. I actually keep a little book at my desk to jot things down so I don't forget, and I just made sure to put her new situation in there.

Hugs!

I'm sure it is so stressful to have that little bit of cancer left to worry about! I hope her surgery goes well in July and that they get all of the cancer this time!

Dee- Prayers being sent now for your mom, your family, the surgeon and all the nurses. I hope that her pain eases in the next month and by the time the surgery date arrives, they will get everything.

You know she is always in my thoughts and prayers. Hopefully the month will go by fast, nothing like waiting for such an important date.

I'll continue my prayers for your Mom. I hope and pray that her next surgery goes well and the surgeon gets it all out this time. I only can imagine how hard this must be for you and your family. Dee, while you're taking care of everybody, take a chunk of time to take care of yourself too.

Good Lord Girl, I had no idea. I'm putting her in my prayers immediately. Be strong honey. My dad had lung Cancer, and they got it all. Nowadays they know lots of stuff if anything if they're going to find Cancer they should find it now then 20 yrs. ago that's for sure. She'll be fine. Sending my health guardian angel down to her. Hugs, Dolly

Awww my thoughts are with you and your family! Not a fun thing to go through at all! She'll need lots of support.

I think one of the best things to help is to get close friends and family to make meals to take over. Maybe prepare some earlier that are frozen. She'll need her strength, but won't have the energy to cook for sure.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I hope my story will give you a bit of hope... I was diagnosed with cancer 6 years ago. The first surgery did not get all the cancer. I ended up having a 10 hour surgery with 3 surgeons - major work... then 4 more surgeries later... months of chemo. There were times when it looked like I might not make it. But, here I am today - healthy and helping others going through cancer treatments.
No matter what the doctors say, or how bad things get, stay strong. There are many people praying for your mom (including me). She's blessed to have you by her side. I'll pray for her full recovery. Hugs to you.

I am sorry to hear about your Mom having cancer! Pray, pray & pray some more is the best advice anyone can give you right now. I lost my Dad 11 years ago next month to cancer, but he had small cell & renal cell cancer & they both fought each other to take over his body! From the time we found out he had it to the time he passed was 3 short months, but we made the best of everyday we had with him! Fortunately, I think the doctors are getting more & more advanced as the years go by with treating cancer! It seems so common these days, unlike years ago when it was very rare! The reports on the news come out with new causes everyday on why people get it! Praying for your family & your Mom in this time of need & please keep us updated! I know its hard to go through and it is miserable waiting for test results, surgery, etc....but just remember that you have God on your side and he will look out for you! I always remembered the quote "God will only give you as much as you can handle" when we were dealing with the issues with my Dad and it helpedme get through each day because I know he was watching out for us! I was very fortunate that my Dad was able to meet my children, I was the only child of 4 that had my kids prior to him passing away and my other nieces & newphews never got to meet him....so I was happy he was able to meet my kids & I know he watches over them from Heaven now!!!
God Bless You & Your family!
