ERGObaby Carrier Review + Giveaway

When I had Evan, I was oblivious to all of the different types of baby gear that would make my life easier. He always wanted to be held and he would scream in a stroller. I later learned about baby carriers and made sure I had one when Isabella came along. As she got heavier, I ditched my infant ones and started using my ERGObaby Carrier.

The ERGO Baby Carrier's ergonomic design supports a correct sitting position for the baby's hip, pelvis and spine growth. It disperses most of the baby's weight between the hips and thighs, which helps to eliminate compression of the spine when hanging by the crotch which most other designs require. The ERGO also balances the baby's weight to parents' hips and shoulders, and alleviates physical stress for the parent.

Did you see that? The ERGObaby Carrier tested safely up to 90 pounds! Even though Isabella is becoming more and more independent, there are still times when we can't use a stroller(or it would just be easier not to). This picture was taken several months ago when we were on a hike.

At almost 22 months old, Isabella is just pushing 20 pounds, so she still feels light as a feather in this carrier. Just last week we had a home show where we needed to walk through several different houses and I knew we wouldn't be able to use a stroller.  I carried her around those houses for over an hour(probably closer to 2) and wasn't fatigued at all. Had I carried her in my arms, I would have been handing her over to my husband 10 minutes in.

The ERGObaby Carrier has many features that other carriers don't, making it the carrier of choice. Not only can you wear it front, back, and hip, but it also has a sleeping hood. Isabella is a very hard sleeper and since she's older and can't be put into a cart while still in an infant car seat, I now take her from her convertible car seat and put her in the ERGObaby Carrier. The sleeping hood supports the baby's head comfortably while you continue your activities and your baby continues to sleep. The extensions on the hood allow it to expand as your baby grows.(on a side note, I was disappointed to realize that the beach nor the guy come with the purchase of an ERGO-so don't get your hopes up *wink*).

You can see that ERGObaby supports you and your baby in the front, back, and hip positions. The front position provides easy availability for breast-feeding. As baby becomes toddler, having them on your back or hip proves to be more comfortable. While I never had the chance to use the ERGObaby Carrier at the infant stage, it has provided me with hands-free movement as well as a more comfortable way to carry my toddler and still be able to tend to Evan.
