Synopsis:
“I think I can, I think I can…” The timeless story comes to life in this all-new, feature-length film filled with fun and adventure! When Little Engine (Alyson Stoner, Cheaper by the Dozen) must leave Dreamland to deliver toys into the real world, she sets her fears aside and learns that with a little determination and courage, anything is possible. Featuring an all-star cast, including Whoopi Goldberg (The View), Jamie Lee Curtis (Freaky Friday), Corbin Bleu (High School Musical) and Brenda Song (The Suite Life of Zack and Cody), this “fun family film” (Francine Brokaw, Los Angeles Family Magazine) is one you’ll enjoy again and again.
Trailer:
Our Thoughts:
I think we all know the story of The Little Engine That Could, but this DVD makes sharing the story with our children more fun. I was blown away by the animation and all of the life lessons hidden in this movie. It was better than I could have ever imagined and I absolutely love having this as part of our collection. The characters make the DVD fun and exciting for both kids and adults.
Evan absolutely adores this movie and has wanted to watch it multiple times each day since we received it. He laughs along with the characters and he cracked my mom up by reciting many of the lines that he's already memorized when we took it to her house this weekend. He has been having bad dreams for a while, and this DVD really hit home with him that bad dreams are just dreams.
As I mentioned before, this DVD is absolutely adorable and would make a fantastic addition to any family's collection! To make it even better, Universal partnered with the Starlight Children’s Foundation on The Little Engine That Could release and will donate 50 cents per DVD sold.

No did not learn about the little engine when I was younger - also comes from growing up in a different country though
I remember reading 'The Little Engine That Could' when I was younger, I actually think that this is one of the first books I learned to read in school.

Hi, new follower via email, Love your blog, also following on Networked blogs. I dont remember the story as a child or learning about it but I have 2 sons who loves trains. Anything to do with trains they become obsessed with, they are going to love it, I am also going to incorporate this plot within my daycare kids, its a good story.

I remember the story from when I was little, but never actually saw the book until just recently, when I got it from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library for my son. He loves trains and we have read the book several times a day for the last several months.
