Wordless Wednesday - Redneck Snowmobile

We usually only get a significant amount of snow(over 4 inches) every 5 or more years. This past year has been different. It has snowed 3 times in the past 12 months with 2 of those times being a significant amount. Since we rarely get it, our state is not prepared with salt, sand, and snowplows, so most businesses and all schools are closed. We also don't have snow sleds or any other "snow toys".

It snowed a few days ago and "redneck ideas" usually occur when you have several people standing around with vast resources. If there is a trash pile close by, you usually get a lot of "Hey, I wonder what would happen if we do ______ with the_____" kind of ideas. Since we were out for two days, we had a lot of those ideas.

THIS was was on a trash pile in my cousin's field and after using a pair of water skis in the snow, they decided to screw them to the bottom of this old, nasty couch that had been sitting in the trash pile waiting to be burned.

Sorry this is blurry, but my lens was a little wet and I had to crop it so it would zoom in a bit.

Don't hate!  You know it looks like fun! :) Click here for last year's redneck snow fun(we used it this year too-with some other "redneck ideas").

LOL -- I love it. My dad did something equally redneck when we were kids and had a huge snowfall. . . .took the hood of an old, non-working truck . . . turned it upside down and hitched it to chains.

Twas very fun.

Oh such fun! and you can pull more than one or two at a time, unless someone wants to lay down! Hey even here in the north weird things get used for sledding if the toys break or wear out, LOL! Heck I even used my old car mats to put under my tires when I got stuck in the snow (for traction) and it worked better than trying to dig it out & throw down sand!
