Chuggington Interactive Railway Coming To The United States In February

Evan and Isabella play with trains on their train table daily. Since the tracks are large and we have several trains, it is a toy that they can both play with. My kids went crazy when we were sent the Chuggington Interactive Railway Playset complete with the Interactive Trains.

Featuring spiral elevation and over 70 total pieces, the bundles includes more than 4 yards of track and includes 3 interactive train stops: a loading yard, a tower platform, and a roundhouse with an Interactive Vee figure. It also includes 6 pieces of cargo and the following Interactive Chuggers: Wilson, Koko, Brewster, Dunbar with Flatbed Car, Mtambo, Irving with Hopper Car, Harrison, Chatsworth, Action Chugger, and Frostini. Best of all, the Interactive Vee and Chuggers included in the set actually recognize and react with other Chuggington Interactive engines and train stops! This set features over 250 sounds and phrases. The UK version has British voices, but the set coming to the United States in February will feature American voices.

Here is what is included in the Interactive Railway box.

It is the perfect size for Evan's train table!

The playset has three interactive stations.
Each station has an on/off switch, but if it isn't used in a while, it turns off anyway.

This set launched overseas in the United Kingdom last year to rave reviews. Featuring revolutionary SmartTalk (TM) technology, the interactive Chuggers recognize and react with each other and key train stops! Check out this video to see more.

The Die-Cast trains that I've talked about before are much smaller than these trains, so this track is not compatible with Die-Cast trains that have already been sold in the US.

Both of my kids have played with this Chuggington Playset daily since it showed up shortly before Christmas.  At 17 months old, "Choo Choo" and "All Aboard" are in Isabella's vocabulary.  The only problem that we have is that neither one of them can put the trains together when they want to line them up.  We have to snap them in place for them.

We've had this set for several weeks now, but Evan is still so excited about it.  He brings the trains with us when we go somewhere and anyone who comes over to the house has to go up to his room to see the Chuggington playset.

Here is a video of a few of the trains interacting with each other. When you press the buttons on top they will talk to each other.  When they pass a station, they also interact with it.

Here is a minute long video of Evan pushing the trains around the track so you can hear some of the interaction. He went a little fast at the start so its hard to hear what they're saying. The train table is against the wall so he had to come back to the other side when he got them at the top of the hill.

Chuggington has a bunch of great new toys and DVDs coming in 2011, so stay tuned for more news from me!

Buy It!
This set will not be available in the US until February.  The approximate retail value of the sets and trains will be $215.

Terrific review!
I had not known about these.
My son is crazy for trains and would go wild, bananas, nutso and bonkers all at once for that set!
It looks sturdy and like a lot comes with it.
Thanks for sharing!

Love having reviews before making such a tremedous investment in toys :) Gotta say most of the toys purchased are for my enjoyment more often than the kiddos! Thanks for all you do!

I have a little one who loves trains--and these look awesome! I love that they turn off if they aren't used for a while-kiddos can really go through batteries quickly when things don't shut off automatically!

I love how thorough your review is! Makes me want to buy it :) It does have a lot of pieces though, but I am glad they are bigger pieces and not super small, those are the ones that are hard to put together!

This looks like a neat set. My son LOVES trains. He is going to be 3 this month and my mom bought him a train set for Christmas. He LOVES it but has already broke some parts of his.

That's like every kid's (and big kid's) dream! It's amazing what they come up with and I like these so much better than Thomas (that scares me).
