Wordless Wednesday - Its Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

The kids and I were so excited to put the tree up and finally hubby caved right before Thanksgiving. Isabella sat there and kept saying "PRETTY!!!". I put the hooks on the ornaments and Evan put them where he wanted.

LOL-see all of those clumps of green and red? I spaced everything out after he went to bed. That was the first of 89403 times we've told Isabella no and to leave the ornaments on the tree. I ended up having to move all of those stick things where she couldn't reach them because she was taking the little balls off of them.

SONIC® Guinness World Books Wacky Pack® Kids’ Meals + $50 Gift Card Giveaway

I have been stopping by Sonic for cold treats for as long as I can remember. I would almost always get a Strawberry Limeade. Now that I have kids, we often stop by for milkshakes and Wacky Pack Kids' Meals. Sonic sent us the Guinness World Books that are in their Wacky Packs.

From the tallest dog to the largest cheesecake, SONIC®, America’s Drive-in® is sharing some of the world’s craziest record-breaking feats this November with its consumers. In partnership with Creative Consumer Concepts and Guinness World Records®, SONIC is launching the SONIC® Edition: Guinness World Records book collection as part of a Wacky Pack Kids’ Meal.

collection includes four books: Wacky Records, Transportation and Travel, Amazing Animals and Sports.  Both of my kids enjoy flipping through the books, and I like reading them too.  I remember getting my brother a Guinness World Book every so often when he was younger because he loved to sit and read them.

Isabella loves to carry around small books and I guess she likes the pictures in these because she's been favoring them.  It also helps that the books come with some amazing Sonic Drive-in food.  Both kids get excited when they see that big Sonic sign because they know a milkshake is usually the treat they get.

Go visit Sonic and view their menu . They have some great Holiday treats right now too!

LeapFrog Learning DVD + CD Set Volume 2 Review + Giveaway

Evan put his LeapFrog Math Adventure To The Moon DVD in my mom's car and has to watch it every time we all ride together. His favorite part is when they are blasting off and have to count faster to get to the moon. He has learned to count by 2s and 5s from watching that DVD. He was thrilled when I showed him the LeapFrog Learning DVD + CD Set Volume 2.

Synopsis:

Math Adventure to the Moon (ages 3-6)
: Tad and Lily need the perfect collection of things to take to school for their math assignment. When they finally decide on moon rocks, there’s just one problem — how will they get them? With some magical help from their firefly friend, Edison, they board a rocket ship to start their quest. Soon the twins learn that math is everywhere, even in outer space! Watch as they use their skills in counting, sorting, skip counting and recognizing patterns to overcome obstacles, find new friends and make the trip back to Earth!

Word Caper (ages 3-6)
: A wild word-building adventure! When Mr. Websley is accidentally silenced by the Silent E Machine, Leap, Lily and Tad must journey through the Complex Word Complex to build the code words needed to return his voice. Guided only by the "Absent Professor Device," the kids learn how to build the complex words needed to solve the code and save the day. Humorous songs add to the fun and help teach the rules for advanced word-building. This title was previously released as Talking Words Factory 2: Code Word Caper.

Math Circus (ages 3-6): Step right up to the Math Circus! Watch the Quidget Family and the Subtractobats perform high-flying feats of mathematics! In this astounding story, Leap, Lily, Tad and wacky Professor Quigley train numbers to count, add and subtract in a series of amazing circus acts. Numbers and Quidgets fly from trampolines, trapezes and cannons as they teach early mathematical concepts. In addition, humorous songs add to the fun and help reinforce educational concepts in an amusing and memorable way.

Learning Songs Music CD (ages 2-6)
: Sing, dance, and learn with these 13 delightful songs from the LeapFrog DVDs available for the first time on one music CD! LeapFrog Learning Songs include 'ABC,' 'Math is Everywhere,' 'Let's Rhyme,' 'Days of the Week,' and more! Our Thoughts:
As I knew he would, Evan loves this set.  He wants to watch the different episodes very often and is learning so much.  The songs really help him remember things better.  They're fun and catchy so I often hear him singing them.  I am trying to help him learn letters and words, so I feel the Word Caper episode is really benefiting him right now.

Totally Talented Tuesday - Words

I'm bringing back Totally Talented Tuesday! It would be great if you wanted to play along and post one on your blog, but basically this is something that I do to make sure I document everything so I can look back one day and remember it all.

I started it in December of 2008, and did it for a few months. If you weren't following me back then, click here to see how it works. I'm bringing it back because Evan is in preschool now and I'm sure I'll have at least one new thing to post about each week.

http://twoofakindworkingonafullhouse.blogspot.com/2008/12/join-me-for-totally-talented-tuesday.html

The rules are pretty simple! Post this button on your Totally Talented Tuesday posts and tell me about the talent going on at your house.  Talent can be yours, your kids', your husband's, even your dog!  Just tell me what it is.

Every Tuesday, I will post Mr. Linky and would love for you to play and link up if you have time!

I always wish that I would have written down more when Evan was a toddler. For today's TTT, I'm listing the words that Isabella says right now so that I will always have a record of it.

At 15 months, these are the words Isabella uses:
Mommy
Daddy
Evan(she RARELY says Evan)
Gi-Gi
Pop
Derrick
Grace
Best Friend
Kitty
Puppy
Hey
Bye
Pretty
Rock-a-bye baby
Amen
Juice
Please
Thank you
Baby
Cheese

I think it is fun to hear what kids say first - you learn a lot about their daily activities or what they like. I'm sitting here racking my brain but that's all I can think of that she says right now.

Link up to the talent going on at your house!

Chiquita Bananas Explore the Lost City Sweepstakes + Active Life Explorer™ Wii Game Review And Giveaway

I'm sure by now we've all heard of Chiquita Bananas and have gotten that little jingle in our heads - you're welcome if it is now stuck in your head because of reading this post. I am very excited to tell you about their Explore the Lost City Sweepstakes.

Chiquita Bananas is celebrating the release of the new Active Life Explorer™ game for Wii™ by sponsoring the Explore the Lost City Sweepstakes. Prizes include a trip for 4 to the Bahamas and 5 days/4 nights accommodations at the Atlantis Paradise Resort, Wii™ game console, Active Life Explorer™ game, and a Chiquita Bananas Sports Package. You can Increase your chances of winning by inviting up to ten friends to participate (1 additional entry given for each referred email).  Sweepstakes ends 12/31/2010!

Active Life Explorer™ is a great new video game adventure for Wii™ where you can run, jump and slide your way through 24 exotic locations in search of treasure. Play alone, with a friend, or let the whole family join in the fun. Recommended for ages 6 and older, this game tests skills and enhances endurance, and makes a great gift for the holidays! Available in stores now.

With this game being recommended for children 6 and over, I wasn't sure if Evan would be able to play.  I opened it up one Saturday morning to try it out and we got lost in the game for well over an hour.  I had no idea how exciting or physical this game would be.  I was also extremely thrilled that Evan could play it and really enjoyed doing so.

You can use the mat or controller, but we always use the mat.  The game is all about testing skills and enhances endurance. We have played this game every night since we got it and I am usually lying on the couch gasping for breath by the end of it. It really gives me an awesome workout and is a fun game for both kids and adults.

My family came over the other night and we spent hours taking turns doing the different adventures. You complete one to go on and unlock the next ones. Most of the adventures can be completed by more than one player at a time which makes this an awesome family game. You get to customize your player and before each new adventure, a screen pops up to explain exactly what you do to reach your goal.

Evan can do pretty much all of the games that are level 1 and 2, so we stick to those adventures. Each time we complete something, our score goes up and we even sometimes unlock different levels or win a new costume.

I can't express enough how awesome this game is and how much it gets us up off the couch. It is especially perfect for those of you that live in cold, snowy places because this will help get some of your children's energy out.

Be sure to visit Chiquita Banana to learn more and and enter the Explore the Lost City Sweepstakes(you have until December 31st).

Build-A-Bear Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer® Collection Review + $25 Gift Card Giveaway

As I've told you many times, Isabella gets so excited when she sees a new stuffed animal or baby doll. When we walk into Build-A-Bear, the child goes nuts. She sucks in her breath and goes "PRETTY!!". Thankfully for me, Build-A-Bear sent us a gift card to buy one of their items from the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer® Collection.

We were greeted with this display as we entered the store.

Since Evan had done it before, he was really excited to make another animal.  Isabella didn't care which reindeer they went with(she just wanted to hold one), so I let Evan pick.  He decided on Rudolph.  They were so excited that his nose lit up and he talked.   At $23, he was one of the more expensive animals, but having his nose light up made it worth it.

He got to help stuff it and give the heart a kiss to put in his back.  For $6 we could have made him where he would sing the Rudolph song too.  LOL-someone needs a haircut!

Evan's favorite part of making a new animal is giving them a bath.  We had to pry him away from that big tub so that we could choose some clothes for him.

They finally decided on this cute hat and elf shoes.  We named him Blinki, but Isabella just calls him "pretty" and Evan sticks to "reindeer".  The animal does say "My name is Rudolph, Hi", so Evan is starting to call him that sometimes too.

As always, we had an absolute blast building our animal at Build-A-Bear.  The quality is great, and the experience is so amazing.  We could spend hours in there if given the chance.  The kids have pushed him and a few of our other Build-A-Bear toys around in strollers and have even wanted to sleep with him.

If you've never taken  your kids to Build-A-Bear, I would definitely recommend it.  Visit Build-A-Bear to see the different animals that are available and to learn more.
