Wordless Wednesday - Yummy Goodness

The other day I was making a cake for my husband's birthday and I heard silence. As a parent, you know that is never a good thing. I look up and saw Isabella had climbed up on the couch with a bag of oreos and proceeded to eat them.

I put her in her high chair and let her have at it. We should all take time to enjoy the yummy goodness of oreos sometimes!

Go, Diego, Go!: Diego’s Ultimate Rescue League DVD

When a new DVD is delivered at the door, Evan runs through the house saying, "For me! For me!". He gets even more excited when it is one of his favorites like Go, Diego, Go.

The Go, Diego, Go!: Diego’s Ultimate Rescue League DVD was released today, August 21, 2010.

Synopsis:

Diego’s International Rescue League

Diego has assembled an elite team of world rescuers to endure a challenging test that will earn them their World Rescuers’ patch. Diego’s team includes Juma – the African desert expert, Shanti – the Indian forest expert, Burgin – an expert diver and surfer from Borneo, Yang – a panda rescuer who can climb up the tallest and most treacherous mountains of China, and team captain Diego – who’s rescued animals from every corner of the globe – even the frozen tundra of Antarctica! The team assembles on Rescue Island, where they must race against the clock in their Rescue-Flyer to identify and return five mystery animal eggs to their respective habitats before time runs out.

Ocean Animal Rescuer
Bottlenose wants to become an ocean animal rescuer just like Diego and Baby Humpback Whale. Bottlenose must swim fast and rescue the baby sea turtles from a giant wave that could devastate the population. Then Diego, Baby Humpback, and Bottlenose must work together to rescue the ocean animals from a dangerous oil-spill before it gets too close to their natural habitats.

Diego Rescues Prince Vicuña
Prince Vicuña embarked on an extensive exploration and has yet to return to his parents, the King and Queen, who long for their lost son. Diego and Messenger Vicuña are quick to develop a plan of action. Diego and Messenger Vicuña run into some trouble as they realize the Prince is over the mountain, near Puma Pass. Diego decides to use a special climbing hook and rope to climb up the mountain toward Puma Pass to rescue the Prince. After a successful rescue, we take the Prince back to Vicuña Valley, and reunite him with his joyful parents.

The DVD has an approximate run time of 95 minutes and includes some great episodes. Evan always gets up to sing and dance along with everything that Diego and his animal friends do. Diego provides a fun way for children to learn many facts about different animals and their habitat.

Pregnancy Questions Answered - The Pregnancy Test

I just saw a movie where someone took a ton of pregnancy test and I had to laugh. I was a little addicted to pregnancy tests myself. I took at least 3(or maybe more :)) with each baby before I "believed" that I was pregnant.

So I'm curious:
How many pregnancy tests did you take before you "believed" it.

Weboo Children's Shoes Review And Giveway

I do not like buying Evan shoes that tie. With two small kids, I only buy shoes that they can easily put on and that they want to wear. I like to get them cute shoes that they have fun wearing.

Weboo Shoes has a great selection of fun children's shoes. Their goal is to merge kid's shoes with toys. They combine the most innovative children's shoe designs with the most advanced ergonomic shoe construction available. Their slogan says it all - Developing Healthy Feet and Huge Imaginations!

Weboo Footwear sent Evan the Chompers Shoes.

Seriously-are these not the cutest shoes ever? I'm not sure of any kid that wouldn't want to wear these. Evan is the envy of the neighborhood and everyone always stops us to comment on his shoes.

The only thing that I don't like on these is the drawstring on the top. We will wear these more when winter gets here because long pants will cover the string. The drawstring makes it where the shoes fit snugly, but I think it looks a little silly.

I really wanted these Thrasher shoes for him for summer. They would match most of his clothing, and they would be even easier for him to put on and take off by himself.

The quality of these Shoes is fantastic. I can tell they are going to last him as long as they'll fit. He has already put them through a lot, and they still look new!

Make sure to visit Weboo Shoes to view their full selection. You'll get a kick out of all the styles!

Fisher-Price Celebrates Dora The Explora's 10th Anniversary With A “We Did It!” Dora Doll

A few weeks ago, Evan came and got it bed with us. Nothing unusual. Next, he tells us that he wants a Dora doll. A Dora Doll? Where did that come from? I'm not sure if he dreamed about a Dora doll, or what-but he talked about it for 2-3 weeks. My husband kept trying to turn his attention to something manly-you know, like trucks. A few weeks ago, I had to laugh when I got an email from Fisher price telling me about their newest Dora Doll. True Story.

We have several toys and dolls from Fisher-Price. As I'm sure you know, Fisher Price has been providing families with high quality toys for generations-since 1930 to be exact. They believe in the potential of children and in the importance of a supportive environment in which they can grow, learn, and get the best possible start in life.

Fisher-Price sent us the Fisher-Price We Really Did It Dora Doll.

It has been 10 years since Dora won the hearts of kids and parents everywhere with her empowering attitude, cultural diversity and emphasis on education for preschoolers. Fisher-Price introduced its first “We Did It!” Dora Doll in 2002 and it quickly soared to the top of kids’ wish lists as one of the best-selling toys of the holiday season. This year, in honor of the 10th anniversary, Fisher-Price has taken Dora and her signature and empowering “We Did It” dance to the next level for an entirely new generation of Dora fans.

The original Dora doll sang the “We Did It” song and swayed back and forth to the music. Eight years of technological advances later, Fisher-Price turns the new Dora doll into a truly magical experience as Dora comes to life like never before. This year, Dora moves her arms, swings her beautiful long hair and swivels her body to the beat as she teaches kids the steps to her signature dance and engages them with four modes of interactive play: Teach-Me (where Dora teaches kids the “We Did It!” Dance), “We Did It!” Dance, Freeze Dance, and Say It Two Ways bilingual dance game.

I can't even express to you how excited Evan was when he first saw Dora. I didn't tell him that it was coming, I just told him there was a big surprise for him in the box. Being the drama queen that she is, Isabella also squealed with delight when we took her out of the box with a big, "HEYYYYY Babyyyy!!".

The We Did It Dora Doll has a head and body that sways when moved. It kind of reminds me of a big bobble head doll. To make her sing and dance, simply push the flower on one of her shoes. Here is a video of Dora and her moves. Evan and Isabella both dance along with her. However, Evan is too intrigued with the tv in this video. They had been playing with her for a while before I grabbed the video camera.

She comes with a hair brush which is important because with all of her dancing, her hair gets a little wild. Evan and Isabella both dance around the house with Dora, but I have been so impressed with how much Isabella loves on this doll. She never really danced with music before we got Dora, and now she dances up and down when any music comes on. Every time she sees Dora, she'll go up to to her and talk sweet and brush her hair.

As always, Fisher-Price continues to be a brand that my family enjoys. Be sure to visit Fisher-Price to view their full selection of toys and other baby products.

Sport-Brella Beach Umbrella/Sun Tent Review And Giveaway

We normally go to the beach several times during the summer, but we didn't make it as much this year. We load up the car with all of the necessities for a day at the beach including products to keep the sun off of our children.

Sport-Brella is another product that we can count on to help keep those harmful rays away from our kids. It is an all-in-one beach umbrella, sun tent, and weather shelter. There are endless possibilities when it comes to using the Sport-Brella.

We were sent a red Sport-Brella.

Features:
* All-season protection from sun, wind and rain
* Easiest setup sun shelter available thanks to folding umbrella action
* Travel size = 54" x 4" x 4", weight = 9lbs., allowed as carry-on by most airlines
* Rugged umbrella structure with side flaps for full cover protection
* Top wind vents and side zippered windows for efficient airflow
* Maximum sun protection UPF 50+ and water repellent
* Protects over 99.5% of UVA and UVB rays
* Internal pockets for stakes, valuables and gear
* Includes convenient carry bag plus tethers and ground stakes for extra stability.

Unfortunately, we haven't been to the beach as much and haven't used it there. It arrived one day before someone was coming to look at the house(our house is for sale), so it got put in the garage and was forgotten about for several weeks. I'm sure we'll get tons of use out of it now between play dates at the park, beach days, and camping!

It comes in a easy to use carry bag. When folded up, it doesn't take up much room at all-perfect for traveling.

Here is what it comes with. The umbrella, bag, and a smaller bag with stakes and other accessories.

Here it is with one flap down, and the other flap still up. The flaps attach to the side of the umbrella, or can be brought down to create more of a "tent look".

The flaps both have two rings to be staked down to the ground.

Each side has a flap that you can unzip to expose a vented area so that air can flow through.

Here is a view from the back with one of the vents open and one zipped shut.

Using this knob, you can make the "handle" as long or short as you'd like. That makes it where the Sport-Brella will sit up as high or low as you need it to. When not in use, the bottom part goes up into the top part.

I posted about Evan hopefully playing sports earlier today, and I think we will be using this often! I used to take Evan to my brother's baseball games and I wish we would have had something like this. The kids can play with their toys on the ground, but still be in the shade.

It will be perfect for building sandcastles under at the beach-or for taking naps! We plan on camping soon and this will definitely be something we take with us. I'm sure any family can think of several places they would get good use out of the Sport-Brella!.

Parenting Questions Answered - Playing Sports

Evan is 3 and we're starting to think about sports. Hubby grew up playing soccer so we'll give that a shot. My family is more into baseball, so we're going to let him try that too and see how it goes.

So my question for you is:

How old were your children when they started playing sports? How many different ones did they do? If your kids aren't old enough yet-will you put them in sports one day?

Nickelodeon Favorites: Happy Halloween DVD

I still can't believe that Halloween is just around the corner. Evan was fun last year, but I think he will have a blast now that he completely understands.

We've been watching Nick Jr. Favorites: Happy Halloween to get him ready.

Synopses:

Dora the Explorer - Boo!
It’s Halloween, and Dora and Boots are out trick-or-treating when a cute Little Monster surprises them. Dora and Boots must embark on a spooky journey to help Little Monster hurry home before the arrow on the big clock strikes 12 – and in time for a Halloween party!

Go Diego, Go! - Freddie the Fruit Bat Saves Halloween!
It’s Halloween! Diego, Alicia and Freddie the fruit bat are setting up trick-or-treating booths for all the animals when suddenly they hear a cry for help. Diego uses Click to try and see what animals are in trouble and finds out it’s the llamas! They were bringing goodie bags to the Rescue Center when suddenly a bridge broke. Amigos, we’ve got to fix the bridge so that the llamas can bring the treats to our party! ¡Al rescate!

Wonder Pets! - Save the Bat / Save the Acting Donkey

Save the Bat-
The Wonder Pets travel to Transylvania to help a Baby Bat who is afraid of the dark.
Save the Acting Donkey-
The Wonder Pets head to the Old Globe Theatre in England to help a Shakespearian-actor Donkey who is not prepared for his performance.

Yo Gabba Gabba - Halloween
It’s time for the Yo Gabba gang to dress up in outrageous costumes and take part in gathering their own private stash of candy. “The Fall Song” celebrates the changing seasons, while the “Halloween Party Song” and “Trick-or-Treat Song” teaches shows kids what happens on Halloween. “Too Much Candy” helps showcase that eating candy in moderation is best. Come sing along to these great tunes!

Blue's Clues - What is Blue Afraid of?
Blue is scared and we play Blue’s Clues to determine what’s frightening her. As we search for clues, we investigate shadows and conceptualize what objects are making them; decipher extreme close-up photos taken by Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper; and label the source of scary sounds within a haunted house!

Ni Hao, Kai-lan – Ni Hao, Halloween

Trick or treat, it’s Halloween! Kai-lan and her friends dress up to go trick or treating with YeYe. Kai-lan is a dinosaur, Tolee’s a panda, Hoho’s the Monkey King, and Rintoo is his favorite – a dragon! But just when they set out to trick or treat, Rintoo sprains his ankle and realizes that means he can’t go trick or treating. It’s up to you and Kai-lan to make things better for Rintoo, so that he can have an amazing Halloween.

As I've told you before, I love when Nickelodeon sends DVDs that feature several favorite characters. This one has all of Evan's favorites so he never gets tired of seeing it. It includes about 149 minutes of pure entertainment for him.

He found his Trick-or-treat bucket the other day and has been going around the house handing out "candy" to everyone. He even did it at my mom's house. Now I have to make him understand that he still has about 2 months before the big day.

If your children enjoy the Nick Jr. characters, they'll love this DVD!
