I received an email a few weeks ago inviting me to the
Wilton Mom Retreat that will be held next week. I was ecstatic and couldn't wait to learn the things that they are going to be teaching a select group of bloggers. BUT, family comes first and my brothers high school graduation is right in the middle of the event. With a heavy heart, I had to email Wilton back and tell them that I had to turn down my spot.

They emailed me back and said that they would send me the Complete Line Of
UltraGold Bakeware to ease my pain. :) I took the first Wilton Cake
Decorating Course about 6 months ago and want to go take the others so that I can practice more and be able to decorate all the cakes for birthdays and other occasions. Wilton has been the industry leader in cake decorating, quality bake-ware and food crafting for 80 years and I am always excited to see their new items.

UltraGold is their new line of Bakeware. Wilton took all of their experience and created pans with features that provide the perfect baking results decorators demand. The Premium Aluminum distributes heat evenly for a light, golden brown cake surface that is easier to decorate.

It has an Anodized Surface that means the UltraGold finish will look great and continue to bake evenly for years to come.
I haven't had these pans long, so I haven't used them many times. I will continue to use them with different recipes and post about them. As I mentioned before, my brother's graduation is next week so I need to start thinking about how I'm going to decorate a cake. I don't have to look far because Wilton has several great
Graduation Cake Ideas. I think I'm going to do this Capping Off
Success Graduation Cake with my brother's High School colors.

My sister's birthday was May 15th, but she wanted a cookie cake. I used the Ultra Gold 12x18 inch sheet pan and the cookie baked beautifully. I used two packages of cookie mix and made it into a big circle in the center-I was careful to keep the edges thick so that they wouldn't burn. It spread out over most of the sheet while baking and I cut it into this circle. It baked evenly so I didn't have to worry about cutting off the edges that touched the sides.

Wilton has great icing recipes. I used the
Cream Cheese recipe and the
chocolate buttercream recipe. My sister is into peace signs, so this is what I made using some disposable bags and one of the star tips-#16. I only had about 15 minutes to decorate it, so it isn't the best-but it was delicious.

You have to try this cream cheese icing recipe-I love to make red velvet cakes with it. Cream cheese icing isn't easy to decorate with-but it is incredibly yummy(I don't use the orange juice and zest).
Ingredients:* 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
* 2 packages (8 oz. each) cream cheese, softened
* 8 cups sifted confectioners' sugar (about 2 lbs.)
* 2 tablespoons milk
* 1 tablespoon orange juice
* 1 teaspoon orange zest
Makes: About 5 1/2 cups of icing.
I made granola bars the other day. It was a little bit of a fail so I will post the recipe and ask for advice soon. I used the 9x13 pan.

Other than baking evenly, my favorite thing about the Wilton UltraGold Bakeware are the handles. They are large so it is easier to put the pans in and out of the oven. The size of the pan is also indicated on the handles. You never have to wonder what size pan you just grabbed.

I look forward to all of the yumminess that I will create with my Wilton UltraGold Bakeware for years to come. I know that I can turn to
Wilton for
decorating ideas and recipes to make any occasion special. Stay tuned because I will be posting more recipes using the UltraGold Bakeware.
