Evenflo Momentum65 Convertible Car Seat Review

Will you be traveling over the holidays? Traffic can be insane and you'll want to take every precaution to keep your infant, toddler, or baby safe. Even if you're not traveling, every parent wants to do whatever they can to protect their children. We recently had the opportunity to test out the Evenflo Momentum65 Convertible Car Seat.

The new Evenflo® Momentum 65™ DLX Convertible car seat offers parents superior e3 Side Impact™ protection to keep their child safe alongside features that help make safety, car seat installation and use as easy as possible for parents. Momeuntum 65 provides exclusive car seat safety features including SureLATCH® connectors, making installation easier. Safety. So Simple!

Features:

e³ triple-layer foam reduces side impact crash forces by up to 50% by absorbing crash energy away from the child. This means that the Expanded Zone of Protection absorbs energy in a broader range of side impact crashes, keeping your child safer.

We often switch carseats from one car to the other and the SureLATCH® technology is awesome. You simply click and push so that instillation only takes a minute - literally.

Adapt the 5-point harness to fit your infant, baby, or toddler without removing and re-threading the straps through the seat. Simply slide the red harness tabs for a secure fit every time.

The ReclineRight™ multiple-position upfront recline is easy to use and adds comfort for the child.

I know this is gross, but my  kids recently had a stomach virus and got sick while in their car seats.  I absolutely love the fact that it has an Easy-off, machine-washable car seat pad that requires no harness re-threading.

The car seat is meant to use rear facing with children that are 5 to 40 lbs or forward facing for children that are 20 to 65 lbs. Here is a short video explaining all of the safety features a little better.

Not only is this car seat really safe for your infant, baby, or toddler, but it is also comfortable. The seat is big, but that doesn't bother me because I feel it is more substantial and will keep my baby safe.  She is still rear facing in my car, but she was forward facing on this car ride in my dad's truck so she could see.  Be sure to follow your local laws, babies have to be 1 year old AND 20 pounds before they can face forward here.  She is 16 months and over 20 pounds. She thinks sitting in the seat is great - see, she falls right asleep.

Love, love, love the fact that the straps adjust from the front!! I hate having to take the seat apart to adjust the shoulder straps. My 7 month old has just about outgrown his infant seat. This looks like it would make a great replacement!

I am really loving the triple layer protection for my baby's head! I also love the color and fabric selection :)

This is such a great idea for the Grandmother. She will be able to get any of the grandchildren in there because it is so versatile.

I really like the fact that the weight limit is up to 65 pounds our car seat is lower than that.

Donna said...

The best feature, in my opinion, is the superior e3 Side Impact™ protection. I had to purchase the head wraps so that my granddaughter's head would be still during turns, etc.....the second best feature, again, my opinion, would have to be the Easy-off, machine-washable car seat pad because like your child, my granddaughter was sick in her car seat, the cover was NOT removable and I had a terrible time cleaning it and getting the smell out of the car.....A+++ in my opinion.

I love how the seat starts at 5lbs. I always thought that you need to use infant carrier seat but this just seems so much easier. :)

I like that the 5-point harness can be adjusted without removing and re-threading the straps through the seat!

Thank you for sharing your review to us. I am with you with throw up thingy because that happened to us a lot of times during our road trip this summer. It sure was difficult and I felt sorry for my little guy, so I carseat that is easy clean up would sure make life easier. :)

What an awesome carseat! I love the neutral fabrics. My favorite feature is rear facing up to 40 lbs!

Love the SureLatch technology, except my husband's truck does not have the latch system. Wish it converted to a booster as well but I love that it goes up to 65 pounds. My pediatrician advised me to now leave my son facing backwards until the age of 2. singnsk8@hotmail.com

The Surelatch technology would be awesome- we have a terrible time getting our car seat in and out when switching vehicles!

I really like this carseat, it seems to really have good support!! i hate it when my son is napping in one of his carseats and it looks like his neck is about to snap off. This looks really nice for a good price:)

Thank you for the review. I am grandma of 9 grandchildren and all have to be in a car seat or booster seat. We usually keep a car seat in the car because we never know when we will need it. It would be nice to upgrade to the newer seats.

the surelatch sounds like such a helpful advance in installing car seats!

Comment +1: I like the idea of a convertible carseat which gives a lot more flexibility than I had. My son is alread in a booster but I was looking at a seat like this for my nephew who is expecting in January. This would be a gift they could get a lot of use from.

Great review...this car seat seems to have all the features I would need. I like the fact that it can be used front and rear facing and the fact that it has an Easy-off, machine-washable car seat pad that requires no harness re-threading. It sounds like a car seat I would feel safe letting my child rode in it.

You read so often that a large proportion of car seat installations are improperly done, unbenknownst to the parent or care giver. Having the easy installation method you described is a wonderful feature to tout. Kudos to Evenflo for putting child safety first.
