Matchbox Stinky The Garbage Truck By Mattel Review

Evan normally doesn't pay a whole lot of attention to commercials, but when he saw the Matchbox Stinky The Garbage Truck on TV he got all excited. He's so cute-what's not to love?

Stinky™ is the name, gobbling garbage is his game! The newest addition to the Big Rig Buddies™ assortment—a real working garbage truck brought to life. This interactive buddy talks, tells jokes, eats, exercises and sings!

Stinky features sensory points, an articulated body that allows his head and front half to move, and over 90 phrases and sounds. Kids aged 3 and up will be eager to make Stinky their best interactive buddy.

Stinky just has too many awesome features to name.  To get him started we switched him from "Try Me" mode to "Play" mode.  There is also an off if Mommy ever has enough.

He's always saying something different and has my kids constantly giggling.  What can I say, Stinky is a charmer.  There are many different ways to interact with him.  My favorite is pushing his belly button.  He will laugh or sometimes have a not so polite sound escape.

Opening his back hatch brings on a whole new slew of phrases and sounds.

In most pictures he's standing up, but he does go down too.  If you press his lever long enough he'll get you to help him sing.

Isabella playing with him totally cracks me up.  She sits there and giggles but has no idea what she's giggling at.  I think she's still trying to figure him out.

What makes him even cooler is that a DVD comes with him!

Here is a short video with some of what he says and does. Excuse Isabella-she was trying to feed him her juice.

While Stinky isn't exactly teaching my kids manners, he is pretty funny.  He keeps them entertained and is always impressing me with the new things he says or does.  My only wish is that he came with a volume control.  I have the power to turn him off, but sometimes I just want him to be a little more quiet.

Stinky would make an awesome gift for any child over 3.  He is energetic and has that humor that any young child(or grown man) can't help but laugh at.  Visit Matchbox to learn more and view their other products.

I wondered about this. It's on my 4 and 5 year old's Christmas list, but it's a little pricey and I was wondering if it was worth it.

My twin 3 year old boys have their hearts set on this for Christmas. I was able to find it on sale this week for $44.99 and then I had a $5 off coupon so we went ahead and got it for them.

My boys love this truck more than the other ones they see at the store! It is on my Holiday list. I love how it engages little ones and makes them laugh! (who doesn't love hearing your kids laughing??)

I think it looks cute. My brother wanted to be a garbage collector when he was younger. Or a sanitation engineer :)

thats so funny. my 3 year old thinks the garbage truck eats garbage and when he comes to our town house he has to watch it eat. this toy would prove that they do eat garbage. lol

this looks fun. My little man always has to watch the garbage man when he comes by.. he might like this.

I love that he has a DVD that goes with him. Whenever there's a story that goes along with a toy, I think kids get into them more. I was that way with American Girl Dolls and my boys like Thomas, Team GeoTrax and Little People because they have books and movies that come with them.

I think this is such a unique toy, I was unaware of it until you told us about it. I can't wait to try and get this. What a great surprise in since it isn't on their lists. I like to always surprize them with something they didn't ask for.

I can't imagine wanting a garbage truck for a toy, but my son does want one, lol.

He's pretty cool! The electronics are little loud making it hard to hear what he's saying in the video, but definitely a lot of fun.

My nephews would really love this but it is out of our price range for them (We have 8 kids to buy for besides our own). But I wonder how durable it is? My sisters are always looking for present ideas but my 4 year old nephew manages to break a lot of electronic toys!

That is a great looking toy... we are big into recycling and my little girl would get a kick out of that

It's so funny because my son, who's 3, saw this toy in Target & was instantly captivated. He insisted that my husband push the "try me" mode on all 12 or so of the Stinky Garbage Trucks displayed on the shelf. He had to have them all talking & lighting up at the same time. It was very entertaining such that I added Stinky to his Christmas wish list!

My 3yr old son saw this on display at Target. It had him mesmerized for 5 mins. I bought him the smaller version that just has a ramp and turns wheelies for Xmas. Hope that he likes it just as good. ven_cheryl1@yahoo.com

I don't think I would get this for my son. It seems like a funny toy but I could just picture the phone calls, emails, or red dots (bad day at school sign) because my son would go to school and do some of the things to make people laugh, etc and his teacher wouldn't find it too funny. He already got in trouble this week for getting sticky during an art project! Crazy!

I agree with the last poster. This looks like such a funny toy, but my little one is only 2 1/2 and I can definitely see him mirroring what he sees with the truck. I think he would absolutely LOVE it, don't get me wrong, but I think he might need to be a bit older (then again it is recc. for kids over three). Also, he got a Chuck the Truck last year and is just now able to play with it without getting scared when it suddenly roars. :)

Lol - My son is afraid of this toy as well :) SO sad, but soon he will laugh about how he was afraid of certain toys *this and the big foot thing!* that were larger and made lots of noise :)
Maybe next year he'll get more into these toys!

What a cute name! Love that it is almost acrobatic. This is sure to thrill any kid and maybe some adults!

I'm glad to see this can take a little beating. My oldest would love it but my little guy would also be trying to give it juice :)

Isabella is just too cute. Lol. I think this is so cool. Why didn't they have cool toys like this when I was a kid? My 5 year old nephew would love that to pieces. I have been trying to find something he doesn't already have and as far as I know he doesn't have that. Wow, I just can't get over how cool it is. Thanks for pointing it out. I don't know much about boy toys these days.

Gianna said...

Wow, that is pretty cool. My son said, "Ohhhh I want that toy." Funny how they show up whenyou look at certain things LOL.
