Fisher-Price - Imaginext® BIGFOOT the Monster Review

My kids found the BIGFOOT display at Target a few weeks ago and now we have to go push the big red button every time we go in there to make BIGFOOT move. They are completely captivated by him, so I was excited when Fisher-Price sent us the Imaginext® BIGFOOT the Monster.

Imagine...
...a little monster with a BIG personality! That’s BIGFOOT! He’s happy. He’s angry. He’s sleepy. He’s fun. He talks and walks and throws a ball, chews and burps and exercises! And kids can bring him to life with an easy-to-use wireless remote control. The symbols on the buttons show you what BIGFOOT will do when you push them -- no reading required! BIGFOOT includes one (7.2Volt) NiMH rechargeable battery and battery charger. Remote Control requires 2 AA alkaline batteries.

Includes Rechargeable battery and charger ($25 Value!)

Product dimensions: 6.5"L x 14.5"W x 12.3"H

Even though we have seen him on display, we've never been able to hold the controller and play with him.  We were excited to get him out of the box.

We were quickly disappointed because we had to wait at least 4 hours for him to charge.  He comes with a rechargeable battery for his foot, which is awesome, but it is hard making a child wait for 4 hours to be able to play with something.  If you're giving this as a gift, you might want to open him up and take the charger and battery out(they're in the white rectangle part on the side of the inside of the box) and charge him so the kids can play right away.

Even after seeing the display, I didn't know that he would throw the ball that is included.  I just thought he moved and talked.  If you place the ball in his hand, he will "throw" it to you.  This is a lot of fun, but Evan gets frustrated because you have to make sure you put the ball "just right" in his hand for Bigfoot to grasp it and he often can't do it. Bigfoot's thumb has to lock onto it before he will throw it. When he throws it, its more of a small toss than a throw, but this makes my kids happy.

Bigfoot also comes with a leaf to eat.  Isabella thinks it is so funny to feed him.

The remote control does require 2AA batteries that are *not* included so be sure to have them on hand if this is going to be a gift.  Even though he does so much, the remote is very easy to use.  It has symbols instead of words so even the smallest player can have a ton of fun with him. The front/back button allows him to walk forward and backwards and the six buttons are happy, angry, sleep, ball, roll, and exercise

Bigfoot has been a huge hit at our house and has taken a ton of abuse, but still works great.  He falls hard and is pretty loud, which my kids absolutely love.  He does so much more than I even imagined.  I was worried that my kids would quickly get over the "wow" factor, but they haven't.  They play with him several times a day and we are still seeing him do or say things that we haven't seen before.  Watching him do flips is the best part.  He can also go front to back, but I wish he could go side to side because we're often bumping him into my poor walls.

Here is a short video from Fisher Price about Bigfoot.

BIGFOOT would make an awesome gift for children 3-8 this year.  He provides hours of endless entertainment that is sure to please the kids as much as the adults.  Visit Fisher Price to learn more and to view their other products. funny seeing this -my son is SO afraid of this bigfoot (He's almost 2) that we even have to tear his picture out of the magazines we get in the mail, or he cries and says 'scary' and moves away! He was sitting on my lap when I opened your window and he got off my lap REAL fast! SO funny though!

Im so glad you posted this review! My boys want one of these for Christmas. My 4 yr old, and my twin 6 y olds all want one! Do you think a 6 yr old would get bored with it quickly?

My dd loved seeing this display and playing with it at the store, but after a month on display it wasn't working. I dont know if this was poor store maintenance, but it didn't make me want to spend $100

He did look pretty cool in the store. My boy's liked playing with the display model. That's too bad your kids had to wait to play with him.

While Bigfoot looks really cute, I don't know if I can get on board with the amount of batteries it needs.

Fun idea Fisher-Price but definitely need to wait until my son is older. Laughing Elmo scares my son so I can't imagine what this bigger, most likely louder sounds would make him do. The hand remote is pretty fun looking!

My son saw a demo of Bigfoot at Target and loved him! I can't believe all of the different things he can do. I love that he comes with rechargeable batteries.

The ball throwing is very cool but seems like it would be difficult for a 3 year old. My almost 5 year old nephew would love this though! He loves all the Imaginext toys, they are just too expensive for how many nieces and nephews we have.

I can't help but wonder if it's worth the price - if the replay value on it is enough to justify - but i do think it's awesome.

Honestly, I would love to get this for myself, lol! This sounds like so much fun. I think it would be hilarious to see how my dog would react to Bigfoot.

Thanks so much for the review. My son wants one for Christmas and because of the price I wasn't sure. Thanks. I think we will get it for him.

Great information, thanks, really like the ball tossing feature. So glad you informed about the 4hr charging needed. It is on the list of really wants and now I can make an executive (lol) decision.

My son noticed it in the store a while back and I have been eyeballing it ever since but it's a little on the pricey side so I've been debating it.

All of my grandchildren are under the age of 5 so a few would enjoy him but the toddlers and babies I am not so sure about because he is their size. I have only seen him work on a news show that was reviewing him.

Bigfoot scares me three year old, he avoids it at every store at all cost!

I could barely tear my son away from the lucite case at the store. He thought BigFoot was so cool At 4, I think the easy to use controller is right up his alley. I was lucky enough to WIN one of these this holiday season. I can't wait until Christmas morning to see my little guy's face!

This is on my 3 year old daughter's Christmas list - she LOVES it! Every time we are at Target we walk down the toy aisle so she can push the button to make him work!

Ive seen the display Bigfoot in Target and it seems like it will be a big hit this holiday season but I must say it seems a bit expensive!

I really like your honest review and the tip about taking the charger out before giving it as a gift! I can definitely agree with that being a downer to a child, 4 hours is a long wait! I love the pictures, it helps me visualize the toy much better! Thanks!

Great review, I think my kids would like that he fallas hard too. Good tip on getting the AA's. I always try to remember to add the batteries to a present when I gift someone something that needs batteries. Nice reminder.

This is the cutest toy I have seen in a while. Sure to catch the attention of any kid and adult with all the theatrics it can do!

My kids saw this in Target and went nuts. They didn't want to leave the aisle LOL.

I like that it has a rechargeable battery and doesn't go through a TON of disposables.
