LEGO - Mater's Yard

I remember playing with Legos for hours when I was little. They were colorful, fun, and my cousin and I would build all sorts of things with them. I never would have thought there would be so many different kinds now.

LEGO has come a long way since I was little. The Kirk Kristiansen family founded it in 1932 and still owns it. It has gone from a small carpenter’s workshop to a modern, global enterprise that is now, in terms of sales, the world’s fifth-largest manufacturer of toys. I also learned that the name 'LEGO' is an abbreviation of the two Danish words "leg godt", meaning "play well".

Lego sent us one of their Duplo products - Mater's Yard.

Lightning McQueen is trying to escape Radiator Springs to get to the Piston Cup championship. But Sheriff is there to catch him and Tow Mater has his trusty tow line to tow Lightning McQueen back to Mater’s junk yard. Set includes Tow Mater and Sheriff cars, Tow Mater junk yard sign and oil barrel.

Evan is a HUGE Cars fan.  We have watched that movie hundreds of times and I'm pretty sure he could recite the movie in his sleep.  He was thrilled when he first saw Mater and Sheriff.  These are all of the pieces that it comes with.

My personal favorite Cars character is Mater.  How could someone not love him?

When we opened this box, Evan saw a picture of Mack(the Mack truck) on the back.  I have no clue why, but Mack is his favorite Cars character.  After days of him begging for Mack, we went and bought that set to go with Mater.  Disclaimer-the Mater set was given to us by LEGO, but we purchased the Mack Truck set.

Hey sits on the floor and pushes all of the Cars characters all around the house.  We build scenes with all of the legos and he pushes them through the scenes.  The Duplo pieces are large enough for him to put together and play with all by himself.  I also don't have to worry about Isabella trying to eat any of the pieces.

I'm sure we'll be purchasing more LEGO pieces soon!  Christmas will be here before we know it and LEGO makes great gifts.  Be sure to visit LEGO to view their full selection.

This was not a paid post and honest opinions were used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. Thank you to the company and/or pr agency who supplied the products for the review.
