If you read my blog, you saw that
Evan's Birthday was yesterday and he was 3. Isabella's birthday is tomorrow and she will be 1. Yesterday we went down to the creek to take a few pictures. I was a moron and forgot to bring my tripod so many were a little blurry, but I still got a few decent shots. I'll probably try for a few more this weekend.
I don't know anything about editing photos, but I wish I did. I like this picture but it was a little too bright on Isabella and too dark on Evan because of the shadows.

I think your photos are stunning, even the BW one that you thought was not quite right. I use Corel Photoshop to edit my photos. It has a feature to alter the brightness by Highlight, Midtone, and Shadow, so maybe a program like that would work for what you want to do. It's kind of expensive, but I use mine a lot, and for me personally, it was worth it. But again, I think they look great as-is!
I love the photos! Isabella is tall and skinny like my dd...she is going to be a supermodel you wait and see! Evan is a handsome bugger and looks like a protective big brother. You have awesome kids!

Really beautiful photos. I have a suggestion for learning how to edit photos. I follow a really wonderful photographer on facebook, who's been kind enough to teach normal parents how to better their photos (through the camera and through editing). His name is Nick Kelsh and his business is "How to Photograph Your Baby". I hope he appreciates the free advertising I just did for him! Seriously, though, he has great tips. Those photos you took deserve to be perfected and framed!!
