Diary of a Wimpy Kid chronicles the adventures of wisecracking pre-teen Greg Heffley, who must somehow survive the scariest time of anyone's life... middle school. Convinced it's the "dumbest idea ever invented," Heffley considers junior high school a place rigged with hundreds of social landmines, not the least of which are wedgies, swirlies, bullies, lunchtime banishment of the cafeteria floor and a festering piece of cheese with nuclear cooties that he must overcome to become popular. His diary - or "journal" - chronicles his thoughts, tales of family trials and tribulations, and (would be) schoolyard triumphs.
The DVD was released on Aug 3rd and is sure to be a big hit with any elementary or middle school aged children. As a parent, I had to laugh at some of the "corny" parts, but it was a good movie. My sister is in middle school and enjoyed watching the DVD with us.
If you haven't heard of this DVD yet, check out the trailer. This movie will gross you out and leave you on the floor laughing all at the same time.
I'm still totally grossed out by that cheese. If you know what I'm talking about, go play the Cheese Touch Chase game. Don't forget to like Diary Of A Wimpy Kid on Facebook for even more fun.
The Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack is available for the suggested retail price of $39.99 U.S and the standard DVD is $29.98 U.S.
