Aloha Friday

It's Aloha Friday over at An Island Life! Answer my question and make sure you post one on your blog! After that, go relax because today is Friday!!

How old were your kids when they were potty trained..or how old were you or someone else kid that you know if you don't have children?
Evan is ALMOST 3 and he is finally completely potty trained. He has been tinkling on the potty for a long time, but refused to do #2 on it! (Sorry for the TMI) He even woke me up at 2 am to tell me he had to go potty the other day. Shortly after he turned 2, my mom made me feel like he should already be potty trained. She says we were all potty trained when we were really young.

My son was 3 1/2 before he finally got it together. He still wore diapers at night for a bit but by the time he was 4 he was in underwear full time. It seemed 'late' to me and many people I know but it was what it was. :)

Iz was somewhere around 2.5...and yes, #2 took a long time. I don't even remember exactly when it happened. She started at like 18 months. Yeah, we aren't doing that year long process again!

My daughter was about 2 1/2 but my son was more like 3 1/2 at least! He was way slower!

Wow! I applaud all of you who got your kids trained before 3! My son is 3 now and we had him almost trained when our 2nd son was born. :( Talk about total regression. We've had to start totally over and he still won't poo in the potty. It's so frustrating since he was already there only 9 months ago and having to clean up messes again. I'm determined to kick this in the near future!
Have a great weekend!

All four of our kids were about 2.5-3 yrs. old when they were potty trained - meaning they could tell me on their own and/or go on their own when they needed to. We took a very laid back approach to potty training and it was never a stressful thing for us. My youngest had problems with occasional bedwetting until he was 8 yrs. old.

It's really a physical thing. Everyone potty trains eventually.

Have a great Friday!

Gavin was completely trained by day at 2 and night at an early 3. I don't remember that well with Johnny but I think it was around the same time.

All kids are different just because you guys did doesn't mean your kids will.....and there is nothing wrong with that. Also boys take longer then girls ;)

Both of my boys were just a little before their 3rd birthdays before they were potty trained. They still had accidents every once in a while for a few months after that though.

I HOPE to have my daughter trained shortly after she turns two. She already tells us after she has gone, so she's on the right track.

My daughter was 3 and every kid is different although I have noticed a distinct pattern of grandparents claiming they potty rained very young.

Don't be discouraged. Children are going to do it when they get good and ready, and everyone is different for heavens sakes. Sometimes it really bugs me that people thing that their children has to punch a time clock that they should be potty trained at a certain age or off the bottle or no pacifier or be a certain weight etc., but come on people let's use our heads. Of course if the kid is 5 yrs old, and not potty trained well there's a problem & that goes for everything else. Stop pushing them & they may surprise you.

I'm so glad you asked this question! My son will be 3 in November and he is NOT potty trained. He is just not ready yet to get the whole concept of using the potty. In fact he gets VERY agitated when I try and show him what to do. I'm afraid if I push the issue he is just going to regress and delay learning further. He might be 40 and still in diapers!!! LOL!

HA! My mom sounds like your mom! She's appalled that we don't even start training until after their 2. I need to start training RyRy but the other 3 were all completely trained by 2.5

They really don't get it until they are ready though & to me trying to train before they're ready is a huge headache....I don't think anyone likes to clean up #2 off their floor ;)

They were both 2 when they were potty trained.

I was potty trained at 13-15 months old (on my own). My oldest son was almost done before he was 2, but regressed some once he was able to walk. My little guy just potty trained this week. He was three two months ago. He could have done it earlier, but it was a battle of the wills with us.

I was potty trained about 3. I kind of come from the attitude of letting your kids want to be potty trained. If you rush them, they end up having too many accidents.
