New Family Pet - African Dwarf Frogs In An EcoAquarium Review And Giveaway

Evan has always been very interested in animals and little critters. We got him a fish a few months ago(which he named Red Fish) and he LOVES watching it and feeding it.

The kit includes the Classic Water Garden, 2 Frogs, Food and Care Pack, and choice of base. The frogs come in that bag with just a little water. The food is that bag with the tiny brown pellets.


The kit comes with detailed instructions. First you pour the brown "living gravel" into the aquarium. It contains important organisms that act as the natural filtration system for the water, constantly filtering, cleaning and conditioning the water. It is because of this “Living Gravel” that no external filtration system or additional chemicals are needed.


Next, you rinse the blue rocks with SPRING water and pour them into the aquarium on top of the brown rocks.


You also need to rinse the the plant and other rock with spring water. Fill the aquarium up with spring water and let it sit for several hours so that the water will be room temperature. Open the bag with the frogs and get them out with a net. Be careful not to let too much of the water go into the new EcoAquarium.


The frogs are extremely low maintenance so this won't be an animal that you're left taking care of all the time. You just need to drop in 2 food pellets per frog twice a week. The water only needs to be changed 4 times a year because of the living gravel mentioned above.


We've had these frogs for a few weeks now and Evan watches them everyday. This picture was taken when he was picking a name for them. He named one Frog Leg and the other is Swim. He gets so excited when it is time to feed them and has told all of his little friends about his new frogs. I'm not going to lie, I thoroughly enjoy watching them too. They're just too cute!
