It's Aloha Friday over at An Island Life! Answer my question and make sure you post one on your blog! After that, go relax because today is Friday!!
My question for this week is:
What cleaner(s) do you use to spot clean your floors?
When we built this house 3 1/2 years ago we were young and didn't have kids. We have a light colored carpet in our living room and as you know, kids spill EVERYTHING. We're getting ready to sell our house so we didn't want to invest in hardwoods in that room. We use spot shot or grease lightning to spot clean and then we use a steam vac every few weeks/months.
PS-the living room in our next house will have hardwoods!

I have ALL hard wood except for the bedrooms. FAR more work then carpets. Believe me. I highly recommend the Bissell Little Green Machine. It's one of those things you think you never need and then can't imagine living without. LOVE it.
I use Simple Green Naturals carpet cleaner - love it! And for pet clean ups on the carpet, I use their pet carpet cleaner.
We use a cleaner called Challenger.
I also use Simple Green...Put I also use Dawn Dish Soap because it gets everything out..I use it on laundry also..

I use a cleaner called AS i just love the green apple smell:)
Here's my Aloha!
I have a Hoover carpet cleaner so it's not a big deal to me but I have used just plain ole soap and water. On the hard to remove things like the hot tar my hubby tracked all through the WHOLE house I used rubbing alcohol and lighter fluid (worked like a charm) but my Grandma used to swear by vinegar.

We have hardwood floored throughout the entire downstairs (really old house). For the area rugs we have Resolve and other items to try to get things out if/when the need comes up.
I just got an awesome steam cleaner that just uses water - and it works on all types of hard floors! Love it!!
My floors are in concrete so I use lysol or something that smells good.
Happy Friday and enjoy the weekend.
We built our house 4 1/2 years ago, pre-children. We too have light carpets everywhere. I have a Bissel Carpet cleaner and would be in trouble without it.
Between constant spills, the flu, and the "accidents" that somehow seem to find my little ones....we use it on a weekly basis!
We have Dupont Stainmaster and I must say that I am glad that we spent the extra bucks for it. Between dogs, cats and kids it has really held up.
Have a great Friday!

I don't really spot clean my floors...I guess I don't really care since we are renting right now but we haven't really made a mess either. I am sure that will change in a few years!
I think I have used resolve in the past though. Definitely a hardwood fan too but the carpet is nice for little kids to play on!
We have this brush/mop thing from Woolite and it is the BEST on stains! Also, the woolite pods work WONDERS, but they tend to be hard to find. Those are my favorite, though. They work really really well!
for our kitchen & bathrooms (laminate) and our fake wood floors in the bedrooms, we use a swiffer thingy.
For spot cleaning carpets, we use this stuff we got in college when we were on residence life staff.
I have hardwoods myself and they can be a pain as well! For our rugs we generally use Resolve but I love reading all the other ideas!
carpet or tile cleaner depending on the room.
We have a steamer (4 kids, 5 dogs, grandson- this is a necessity) and we make up a homemade dealio so not toxic.
I use Resolve Foam on small spots on our carpet or when I have a spot that won't come out I use Club Soda and blot it. I also have a steam cleaner by Bissell and I regularly clean them. About every 3 months.
Good luck on the cleaning!
Our carpets are disgusting and need to be replaced, but we decided not to do it until the kids have outgrown the spilling stage. In the mean time we bought a steam cleaner and use that on the carpet. It does a great job and dries very quickly.
Clean my floors?!? I'm supposed to clean them:) Seriously, we only have carpet in our living room and play room so I don't do a whole lot of cleaning it. Plus we are planning on changing the little bit of carpet that we do have once the boys are alittle older. I probably haven't taken care of the floors as good as I would have if I knew it would be there forever!
I use vanish
we have wooden floors so we use murphys oil soap sorry could not help you
We have hardwood throughout the house... So my go-to spot cleaning solution is a little dish soap on a sponge. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
No kiddos, so we don't get many stains. When we do we use LA's Totally Awesome Carpet Cleaner. It's cheap and works.
We have a steam cleaner and I buy a big thing of the carpet cleaner, we do a major clleaning of the rugs every 3-6 months and for small spot cleaning, what I have done is bought a plastic spray bottle and add the carpet cleaner and a little water and I use that when I need a quick fix, works great.
If it's carpet we use Capture. Works great.
I also use simple green lol
lol, i can not remember... maybe its woolite?
:) aloha
We have hard wood floors everywhere.
