Motherhood Is Gross

I'm pretty sure that if being a mom was a paying gig, I would have quit a long time ago. I am convinced that motherhood is the grossest job in the world. My kids better be glad that their hugs and kisses are totally worth it.

I thought that I had reached my grossness level by 9 am yesterday. Little did I know that my kids had a whole day worth of nasty in store for me. I'm not going into details because I don't want anyone to gag or puke from the result of reading my blog. I'll just tell you that yesterday alone, I had the pleasure of dealing with poop(LOTS of poop), puke, dogs, mud, blood, dirt, and chickens(don't ask).

Here's to hoping that today is less gross.

And because I hate posts without pictures, this is was taken on Easter. Evan has recently allowed his finger to find his nose and they have a great relationship. "Way to make Mama proud, son!" :)

And this is just one of the many moments that makes being a mom so wonderful. This was taken this weekend(don't point out the dirt on the floor next to him).

I'm right there with you. Why does it always happen at once? The cat (hairball), the dog (ate something bad), the kid (must have eaten with the dog)...

hope today is better!

this is why I think people who say "you wont mind when it's your own kid" are nuts. Poop is poop. And it's gross. :)

I can be so frustrated, gorssed out, at my wits end with my kid but when I see him sleep, I see his halo. There's nothing as sweet as a sleeping child!

That is so funny! I am new to your blog but think yours will be one I will follow. I am following you on Facebook and on here. I would love it if you would follow me. Hope you didn't have any more yukie stuff today!

Oh my gosh, I've had poop under my fingernails, chunky vomit in my hair, and boogers stuck to my arm. Parenting is definitely gross! Our kids sure are lucky we love them so much. We'd never forgive anyone else for such treatment! LOL

Oh we all have our days - all though you do have me wondering where the chickens come in... This sounds worse than when you had to clean throw up off of everything including the stuffed animals in the crib last year! I hope your day was less gross today. I have three germ loving little boys so I feel your pain :)

Isnt' that funny! It like kids totally have a grossness quota they have to meet each day. Good thing they are so darn cute.

If that's dirt on the floor, then I renege the invite to my house. You'll go nuts - I'm part of the 'God made dirt. Dirt don't hurt" school of thought I make sure to take it Verrrryyy seriously.

I hear ya. The other day we reached a new level of "ewww!" when we thought it couldn't be reached. But oh boy, your wee ones are adorable. We think cuteness is a defense mechanism.

I totally agree, we all probably would've quit a long time ago. But, I'm very thankful that quitting isn't an option, because my children teach me so much about patience!!! :)
I hope they stay healthy for you... grossness is all part of the package. It's a good thing kids are cute. :)

There was a reason God made kids so cute!
I have had more than my share of gross to deal with, and Sam doesn't seem to ever plan to quit giving it to me.
It is funny, but at our house, it is the girls who are the nose pickers. Drove me nuts! I used to ask God why not the boys? We expect boys to be gross! lol

LOL! 'Into every (mom's) life a little poop/puke/blood/chickens must fall', eh? :)

Great post, and I love the nose-picking pic! It's priceless...and will be GREAT ammunition for you when he's a teenager. ("Hello, My Son's Prom Date, why don't you come in and let me show you some photos of my little angel when he was but a child?")

Thanks for the laugh!

I agree there is nothing easy about parenting! Way to keep loving your little ones despite the gross situations. I have a 16 month old and the diapers seem to be getting worse the older she gets! Maybe it's time for POTTYTRAINING!!

Not only gross, but messy. I'm trying to figure out why my 8yodd is messier than all three of her brothers combined!
