Bright Starts InGenuity Collection Review And Giveaway

I have used several different types of baby gear between Evan and Isabella. There are many times that I think of things that I wish the designer of the product had done differently or added.

Bright Starts has several products that exceed my expectations. They are dedicated to creating high quality, innovative, and practical products. They strive to inspire a child's curiosity and confidence.

Bright Starts sent us the four piece InGenuity Collection.


The InGenuity™ Collection combines the latest innovations in technology with on-trend styling and plush fabrics to create the most soothing and attractive product offering possible. Each product is designed with unique technologies to provide parents the features that make life with baby even more enjoyable. From a bouncer that bounces by itself, to a swing that runs on one set of batteries for babies entire first year, this collection of innovative gear products raises the bar on feature and fashion.

I have been completely impressed with the InGenuity Collection. The fabric and toys are all gender neutral so you will be able to use the collection with all of your children. I've seen a lot of gender neutral patterns, but this has to be my favorite. Each product has features that I've dreamed of, but have never seen with my other baby gear. I can't imagine how much research along with love and care must have gone into creating this collection. Even though each product has amazing features, the prices are so affordable.

InGenuity™ Automatic Bouncer™

The only bouncer that truly bounces, powered by Hybridrive™ Technology. Traditional bouncer seats don’t actually bounce, but the InGenuity™ Automatic Bouncer™ features a unique Technology that provides a smooth, consistent bounce that mimic’s mom’s natural bouncing motion.

The InGenuity™ Automatic Bouncer™ was the first product in this line to jump out to me. First of all-see how comfy it looks? It has a ton of cushion and the head rest is adjustable to grow with your baby. Both of my kids loved for me to bounce them. I remember bouncing Evan as I walked around the house and wishing there was some product out there that simulated that movement. The Automatic Bouncer does.

Isabella has never been a huge fan of her other bouncer. It hasn't been used in weeks because she'll only sit in it for a few minutes. She loves the Bright Starts InGenuity Automatic Bouncer. She'll sit in it the entire time that I'm getting ready in the morning without making a sound.


It has two speeds which is perfect because every child is different. Isabella likes the faster speed. There are 10 different melodies and nature sounds so that baby never gets bored listening to the same thing. The toy bar is removable and can also pivot back and forth for easy access to the baby. The seat pad, bolster system, and head rest are all machine washable which is a mom's dream.


The InGenuity™ Automatic Bouncer™ is meant for babies weighing up to 25 pounds and requires 3 C batteries that are not included.

InGenuity™ Portable Swing


The InGenuity™ Portable Swing features the innovative TrueSpeed™ Technology, which provides sustained swinging speeds even as baby grows and gets heavier. The swing automatically recognizes baby’s weight and adjusts the swing speed to maintain a consistent swinging motion. With innovative solutions like TrueSpeed™ and on-trend fashion combined with the quick fold-and-go mechanism, this portable swing is the ideal travel companion.

The one thing that I've never owned is a portable swing. I wish that I would have had the InGenuity™ Portable Swing since Isabella was born. It is so great to be able to take it in the kitchen with me when I'm cooking, or to the park when Evan is playing. It is just as cushioned as the Bouncer and the headrest is also adjustable or removable. I can also hang some of her other toys from the toybar so she has something new to look at.


I was amazed with how compact it is when folded up. It takes me 30 seconds or less to have it folded and placed into a corner. It easily fits in my car so that I can take it with me anywhere I go.


The swing actually has a timer that you can set for 15, 30, or 45 minutes. The TrueSpeed™ Technology makes it where the swing will maintain 6 different speeds even as Isabella gets older and heavier(right now she only weighs about 13 pounds). There are 6 melodies to choose from and the Comfort Recline™ seat has two positions.


The InGenuity™ Portable Swing is perfect for babies up to 25 pounds and requires 4 C batteries that are not included.

InGenuity™ Cradle And Sway™ Swing

This swing allows you to provide baby the motion that best suits their needs. The swing seat rotates 180° for either "Cradling" motion, which provides a side-to-side movement; or "Swinging" motion, which provides a traditional front-to-back movement. The innovative control unit on this swing, powered by Hybridrive™ Technology, is more efficient than any comparable swing and provides more than 2X the battery life.

The InGenuity™ Cradle And Sway™ Swing has so many features that are a mother's dream. The batteries actually last 2x longer than comparable swings. The batteries are supposed to last the whole first year of your child's life so you don't waste your money on tons of batteries to keep it going. It is also so quiet. You don't even know it is on if the melodies or nature sounds aren't playing.

As we all know, every child is different. The Cradle and Sway Swing allows babies to move side to side as pictured above, or you can turn the seat so that they swing front to back as shown below. Isabella seems to like going side to side better.


I am in love with the toy tray. One of my biggest problems with the swing that I was using before is that I couldn't take the tray off. It always got in the way and it wasn't good for a newborn who likes to stay balled up. This tray can be lifted from the left or right, or can just be taken off all together. It actually comes with two plush toys to keep Isabella entertained. The mobile overhead can pivot easily out of the way or dangle down to keep baby entertained.

The InGenuity™ Cradle And Sway™ Swing can hold up to 25 pounds and requires 4 D batteries that are not included. Like the Portable Swing, it has Whisper Quiet™ operation for peaceful swinging and TrueSpeed™ Technology that maintains 6 swing speeds even as baby grows. This swing also has a timer with the 30, 45, and 60 minutes settings. The Cradle And Sway has 10 adorable melodies and nature sounds to choose from.


The Comfort Recline™ seat has two positions. Smaller babies can recline back and snooze the day away, while larger babies can sit up and play with the toys on the tray. The comfy seat pad and head rest are both machine washable.

InGenuity™ Playard

Convenience for travel, styling for home. The InGenuity™ Playard is designed with the One Less Step™ folding system for the easiest portability and beautiful fabric styling to complement your home decor. But the patented Sleep Easy™ feature in the bassinet makes this Playard a stand-out in offering the most comfortable and healthy sleep for your baby. The bassinet mattress can be adjusted to a slightly inclined sleeping position or can remain flat.



Both of my children had reflux as babies. They were happiest when sitting up and I remember propping books under the mattress so that they were on a slight incline while sleeping. The InGenuity™ Playard actually has a Sleep Easy Incline™ bassinet with 2 sleep positions: flat or slightly inclined. That is by far the best feature on any playard that I've ever seen. Can you see the incline below?


The Playard can hold up to 35 pounds which is perfect for babies and younger toddlers. There is a changing table that makes it where parents don't have to lean over for diaper changes. I've used 4 other changing tables on playards and this is my favorite. It has high sides which makes me feel more comfortable using when baby starts to roll. I never leave my baby unattended, but she's a quick roller and I'm always scared she's going to fall off of other changing tables. The changing table can also pivot over to the side when not in use.


The storage tray on the side is huge and holds all the diapers, wipes, and other accessories that you could ever think of. There are wheels on the bottom that can be locked into place or make it easy to move from room to room. I think this playard would be perfect for the sitter's house or to leave up permanently. The only problem I had is that we couldn't fit the changing table and storage tray into the travel bag. The playard will stay set up in our living room for naps downstairs and a place to change her diapers.
