Paint Shop Pro VS Photoshop And Other Random Updates

I asked for help in deciding whether or not to go with Paint Shop Pro or Adobe Photoshop elements a few days ago. After all of your emails and comments I ended up taking Paint Shop Pro back, but they didn't have Photoshop. I decided to wait until it came in and I downloaded Adobe Photoshop Elements 8. I'm pretty lost! I can do some simple things like crop pictures, but what is up with the organizer? It randomly put my pictures all over the place! I've got to learn how to do some more basic things on there. Some of you have given me some helpful links to learning how to use it and I really appreciate it!

Keep the tutorial links coming-I'm a moron when it comes to photo editing software!

Also, I got an email from a reader telling me about photoscape. For those of you that don't want to purchase any software, it is free and allows you to do a bunch of fun stuff to pictures!

I've been slack and will begin the STYLE event tomorrow! We have some fun giveaways lined up and the event will last through Valentines. If you have any products that you think fit in with the event, let me know.

We're getting our house ready to put on the market and have started the process of looking for a new house. Our 3 bed, 2 1/2 bath house is getting too small and we need a little more space. Keep your fingers crossed that we'll be able to sell our house and find another one that is a good fit for us!

Dee,
If all you are concerned with is photo editing you can get a much cheaper and user friendly type of software than PhotoShop. All of those links I sent you, check out the basics but as you will see many of them are tuts in helping to "change" photos, create "art" and "design", etc- Unless you want to eventually get into that (if you do then definitely get PhotoShop) otherwise you can go with something free or a very cheap program that will still give you many functions.

Good luck with selling your home. I've heard that spring is a good time. What little of your house shows in your pics is beautiful. I imagine it will be a little hard to leave behind :)

Good luck with the house sale! You may be lucky because there isn't as much competition at this time of year.

Have you tried using the free program called Gimp? It is a little similar to Photoshop but free. It is what I use but I am not very advanced when it comes to graphic design.

Good luck on finding a new casa!! The hubs and I are working on that one too - but probably won't be moving until next year (hopefully)!

I was going to mention the Pioneer Woman as well, but I see someone already beat me to the punch. :) She is actually who helped me go beyond cropping in Photoshop because her tutorials are actually understandable if you take your time and do them step by step. Also, she's fun to read. :) Good luck...it just takes some practice. Once you get the hang of it, though, you will be hooked...just a warning. :)
