Aloha Friday

Photobucket

It's Aloha Friday over at An Island Life! Answer my question and make sure you post one on your blog! After that, go relax because today is Friday!!

My question for this week is:

If you were to go buy a new house now, what would be a must?

We're starting to get ready to put our house up for sell and look for a new one(we've just about outgrown ours). I will compromise on some things, but it has to have a large kitchen, big closets, and a big back yard. I also prefer an open floor plan where you can see the family room from the kitchen.

I would look for the same things and would add that it must be a ranch-style one story with a separate play/game room.

Happy Aloha Friday!

It would have to be a mater suite with exercise room and steam sauna/ shower. I think that would make me exercise more, lol. However I love my house and wouldn't want to move.

I would look for the same things that you are looking for but I think I would need an extra room, like a game room or office space.

The usual - adequate sized but my top priority is that it should be in a nice safe neighborhood of families similar to ours, with growing children, and that my house NOT to look the same as my neighbor's. I don't like those cookie-cutter houses.

I love my house now...really the only thing I would change is a much bigger utility room to store all the random stuff like strollers and shoes! My hubby would love to have a garage too...but he would turn it into a shop.

Ooh that's a really good question. I watch a lot of HGTV and drool over so many houses I see on there. And my list has changed - things that I wanted in a house when we bought our current home that I'm now used to having are all certainly still must-haves (2-stall attached garage, linen closet, 2+ bathrooms, etc.). But the two things that I absolutely wish we had in this house are first off, a large kitchen with plenty of counter/cupboard space. I would cook so much more if I had a kitchen that didn't make me feel claustrophobic just to be in. And the second thing is outside - I so wish we had sidewalks. I hate that my kids can only ride their bikes, scooters, skates and such in the street because we have no sidewalks and our driveway is sloped enough that they can't ride on it easily either.

Great question!

I would say a nice kitchen and 4 bedroom with 3 of them being large enough for each of the kids.

Happy Friday!

A bigger kitchen.

A 4th bedroom to use as office/study.

Master bath with a shower separate from the tub.

And the master bedroom on the opposite side of the house from the kids' bedrooms, if not on different floors.

Not that I've give this any thought or anything...

We are hoping to start house hunting and put our house on the market this Spring. The things I would definitely want in a new home is a big yard for the kids, all bedrooms on one floor, space for a playroom, and main level laundry for sure (ours is currently in the basement).

Lots of windows and little carpet.

A HUGE pantry and I would LOVE hardwood floors. At least 3 bedrooms and MORE square footage. Oh yes, and a full basement/playroom would be lovely.
I could go on, but I'll stop now. lol

A backyard and not a corner lot...since those are things we deal with now! Good luck!!

A nice level fenced yard for the kids to play

a three car garage and some LAND, level yard and fence when we build. Oh and most important, smaller mortgage. :)

Charm.
2 acres min.
Large kitchen with plenty of cabinet/counter space
2 bedrooms 1 bath, at least
Solid foundation and roof in good condition

Everything else is workable! Can you tell we're house hunting? LOL We've given this a lot of thought.

Much larger than the one we currently live in with a big backyard.

My absolute must is a kitchen that overlooks a family room. I would love a bonus room too for exercise equipment too, right now my garage is my bonus room. Oh, and it has to have a great kitchen too!

I must have an attached garage and a dishwasher - things I don't have now. I also won't live on a cut-through street (which I do now) and would prefer my house not to be on the same side of the street as parked cars if they can only park on one side - it makes it so difficult to pull out of the driveway.

Good luck on your search. I hope it's fun and exciting!

Big kitchen and 2 bathrooms.

Since tornadoes are so common around here a basement is a MUST. We built our house without one and now my DH is digging one out so it should be ready by next tornado season :)

Happy Friday!

Definitely a big kitchen with an island and eating area. A big family room w/ fireplace, and a large level private backyard!

A nice laundry room! I'm so tired of lugging my laundry down to the garage. Happy house selling/hunting!

My next house has to have a BIG kitchen. I love to cook and my kitchen is so darn small. I would love granite countertops with one of those middle counters too!

Seclusion and land.

4 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, Laundry Room and a finished basement!

Two bathrooms. It's not so bad just having one now that the girls are younger, but when they get older, we will have to move into a house with 2 full bathrooms.
