It's Aloha Friday over at An Island Life! Answer my question and make sure you post one on your blog! After that, go relax because today is Friday!!
My question for this week is:
Do you like/watch scary movies? How do you feel about Haunted Houses? Even though I KNOW it's just a movie-I freak. I just don't like scary movies so I tend not to watch any. I KNOW the people in Haunted Houses are just people like me dressed up, but I can't go to them! The last one I went to was my first year in college and I really don't plan to go to another one-unless there is someone on each side of me and one in front and behind me as well.
I was completely clueless when packing for the hospital with Evan. I didn't know if they provided anything and I really didn't know what personal items I would need. The hospital ended up providing me with many things, but only enough for my stay there. I needed much more when I got home.
Labor Kit is a company that takes all of the guessing out of what to pack. There are different size kits available, but each one includes a Birth Plan, Hospital Checklist and Share the Joy Contact list packed into a well-organized travel bag. They are full of top name brands such as Pampers, Kiss My Face, Gerber, and Burt's Bees.
There are three other kits available to choose from as well. The largest has everything that a new mom needs to prepare for the experience including a Bringing Home Baby DVD. The Standard Kit is perfect for moms who have had a little birthing experience. It has all of the essentials that you'll need at the hospital and for the first few weeks at home.
The Standard Labor Kit that I received has 84 items including:
Deluxe Canvas Bag
Lansinoh Lanolin
Gerber Breast Pads (36)
Stay Dry Icepack
Note Pad and Pen
Newborn Diapers (20)
Lip Balm
Thank You Cards (8)
Pillow Paws Non-Slip Socks
Share The Joy Contact List
Hospital Checklist
Birth Plan
Peri Bottle
Sanitary Pads (4)
Mesh Underware (2)
Large Blue Pads (3)
Stress Ball
Even though the hospital provided me with some of these items, I didn't have enough for my first few days at home. There were even several things that the hospital didn't provide such as breast pads that I didn't even think to pack with Evan. I was very happy with the products that they chose to include with the kit.
These Labor Kits would make great Baby Shower Gifts. Any new mom would be fully prepared and wouldn't have to stress so much over what to bring. The kit includes a hospital check list so that nothing is left behind.
The travel bag that they come in is fantastic! It can be used long after baby comes. I think that Labor Kit could take it one step further and instead of having their logo on the front, they could offer personalization of the mom's name. It's such a great bag and that would just make it where you'd definitely want to use it for years to come.
Visit Labor Kit to see all the different sizes that they offer. They also have great tools such as an Ovulation Calendar, pregnancy due date calendar, and a list of baby names.
Win It!! Labor Kit is giving one of my readers one of their standard kits.
To enter, visit Labor Kit and tell me which kit you think would make the best baby shower gift. This is required and must be done before the extra entries count!

As parents, we are always looking for ways to save money. My favorite way is to buy products that serve more than one purpose. I am always willing to spend a little more for high quality products that I can use for more than one thing.
Aeromax has a fantastic selection of Get Real Gear. With these high quality dress up outfits, your child's imagination will soar. You can find everything from Astronauts to Doctors at Aeromax.
Aeromax sent us the Jr. Fire Fighter in yellow for Evan.
The Jr. Fire Fighter is available in yellow, black, tan, and blue. It includes and adjustable hard helmet, adjustable bib overalls, adjustable suspenders, and coat. The overalls have several pocket ans knee patches made to look just like a real fire fighter. The coat has a zipper and then buckles on top of that. It also features authentic gauntlet cuffs, pockets, and reinforced elbow patches. It can be ordered as small as 6 months or as large as the adult size.
Not only does the Fire Fighter outfit make dress up more fun, it could also serve as a Halloween costume. Most Halloween costumes are light weight and poorly made. I was amazed with the quality of our Aeromax outfit. It is really thick and I know that it will last for years.
I ordered it in a size 4/6 because I wanted him to be able to wear it for a while. I think once Isabella starts wanting to dress up in her princess costumes, Evan will want to dress up too. It's pretty big on him right now, but that doesn't stop him from playing in it.
I love that the hat is adjustable so it can be made to fit any size head. He is always wearing that hat. Even though he's played hard with that hat, it still looks brand new. It is made of hard plastic and is meant to last. You can see that it's been thrown to the side in this picture, but is still holding up amazingly well.
Be sure to check out Aeromax to see all of their dress up gear!

I'm sure that most of you have noticed that I don't really post on the weekends. My husband is off and I have declared weekends as our "family time". If we're just sitting around the house, I might pop on to check emails and things, but I usually don't post.
I've decided that I'll write about our weekends on Mondays so that I can document things we do and you get a little more insight to our little family.
We spent all of Friday at the fair. It was BEAUTIFUL with the exception of the 20 minutes that it drizzled rain on us. We didn't go last year so this was the first time that Evan really got to experience it. We rode rides for HOURS and he had a blast.
He LOVED this huge slide, but I quickly got tired of having to carry him up those steps OVER AND OVER again.
Here is my brother and sister...
I was brave enough to let Evan ride this over the fair. He kept saying "WHOA"!
This train was the only ride that he did all by himself and he was a little unsure about not having me ride with him.
We walked around the fair and visited the animals.
We didn't leave until 9:30 or so because my sister danced at 8:00 and we didn't want to miss that. Here we are after a LONG but fun day at the fair.
Isabella did AMAZINGLY well and loved being carried around in her Baby Bjorn Original Spirit Carrier. As I told you in my Aloha Friday post, I was worried about feeding her in public. I used my nursing cover and would duck into corners to feed her. One older gentleman made a big deal out of it once and I got mad that he didn't "approve", but I didn't back down and I fed my baby! I was completely covered and I was usually out of sight somewhere. I did have one mom come up to me and say that she wished she would have had a nursing cover when she was feeding her babies. I saw several moms who were just feeding their babies as they walked around the fair-I'm WAY too modest for that but applaud them for being able to.
Saturday we mostly drove around looking for a new truck. We sold my husband's and he's been looking for another one for about a month now. That night we went to my parent's house to eat wings and watch the game.
Sunday we didn't make it to church and spent a lazy morning at home drinking coffee and reading the paper. My mom and I went out to do a little shopping and to run a few errands after lunch. After we got back, we all sat around playing with Evan and Isabella. My favorite part of every weekend is being lazy and spending time with my family.

My question for this week is:
How do you feel about breastfeeding in public? I'm REALLY modest and have only breastfed Isabella 2 times in public and I definitely had a nursing cover. Today we're going to be outside ALL DAY and I don't want to take pumped milk because it is supposed to be warm outside and I don't want any of it to go bad. I don't mind when other people breastfeed in public at all, but I just hate doing it! I feel like everyone is looking at me. I need some nursing shirts-maybe that would make me feel more comfortable.
I try to always give unique, personalized gifts for baby showers and baptisms. As a mom, I know how exciting it is to get something with your baby's name on it. Those types of gifts are the ones that will turn into keepsakes.
Li'l Inspirations has a great selection of products that I would be proud to give to anyone. The family operated business has been specializing in heirloom quality gifts for every occasion since 1992. In addition to baby items, they also have great gifts for anniversaries and weddings.
This pink puppy is much more than those other security lovie blankets that you see. The blanket is 23" x 20" which is the biggest that I've ever seen. I was pleasantly surprised with how large it was when it arrived. It won't be something that Isabella will outgrow in a year or so.
It is made of Soft "minky" fabric on the front and satin on the back. It is personalized with Isabella's name and came wrapped in a beautiful organza bag. The presentation was perfect for gift giving.
They attached the optional 7" rattle to the arm of the security blanket. Evan has taken over the rattle as his own bracelet and shows Isabella how to play with it. My favorite feature is that it can be machine washed. We all know how gross favorite blankets and lovies can get.
You won't be disappointed with the quality of gifts from Li'l Inspirations. Be sure to visit their site to see everything that they have to offer.
Win It!! Li'l Inspirations is giving one of my readers a Personalized Puppy Baby Blanket in the color of their choice.
