Ritzy Baby Shopping Cart Cover Review And Giveaway

As new moms, we usually try extra hard to eliminate as many germs from our baby's environment as possible. As they get older, we start to get slack and they get exposed to all sorts of germs and bacteria. Now that I have a tiny baby again, I'm trying to do all that I can to make sure they don't get sick.

Photobucket

Ritzy Baby has a shopping cart cover that keeps babies from touching those nasty carts. Ritzy Baby is a trendy online children's boutique that offers their own design of infant car seat covers, shopping cart covers, toddler car seat covers, and matching accessories. After years of experience, they know what customers are looking for and use top quality designer fabrics.

Ritzy Baby sent us their Sugar And Spice Shopping Cart/High Chair Cover. It came in this bag so I can easily store it in my car.
Photobucket

The shopping cart covers allow parents to keep their babies away from germs that are all over shopping carts, restaurant high chairs, and park swings. They are reversible for two unique looks and fully cover even the largest shopping carts. The covers are made with 100% cotton designer fabrics that are machine washable. The Ritzy Seat is padded and comfortably accommodates one or two children. To keep baby entertained, the cover has 2 toys loops, 2 bottle/sippy cup holders, and 2 pockets to keep toys in.
Photobucket

You can see how it can be used as a high chair cover in this picture.
Photobucket

In the blink of an eye Isabella will be old enough to sit in her Ritzy Baby Shopping Cart Cover. I wish that I had a gender neutral one so that Evan could use it now. I absolutely love that it includes 2 bottle/sippy cup holders. It keeps their drink in place and the 2 toy loops allow them to play with their toys without dropping them. It helps keep them entertained while shopping.

You're really getting your money's worth with this cart cover because it can be used with high chairs and park swings as well. I think it is great that I can put both kids in it when we are using one of those huge carts. I can rest assured that I'm doing all that I can to keep the germs away-especially during cold and flu season. Here you can see where two children can fit and the two toy loops on the front.

Check out Ritzy Baby to see all of their other amazing products. You'll be adding many things to your wish list. They have everything from burp cloths to diaper bags. I personally want this Zebra Hot Pink Infant Car Seat Cover.

He Went Pee Pee On The Potty!

I really wanted to start getting Evan ready for potty training before he turned two, but I was huge pregnant and it just wasn't happening. Now that I have more energy and we're settling into life as a family of four, I'm ready to get him out of diapers! It seems like every time we see my mom she hints that he is too old to still be in diapers and we were all potty trained by 20 months. I know that most kids are getting potty trained at two or later now, but it would be a big help to have him out of these diapers!

We've had the potty out for a while now, but he refuses to go on it. He would sit on it all day long, but he never went. He responds really well to positive reinforcement so I think all it would take is a few times of him going and us telling him how great he did.

Tonight we put him on the potty before bath time and he went pee pee on the potty!! We clapped and went on and on about what a big boy he is. We called my mom so she could say yay too him and we got him some ice cream. I hope this is the start and he will want to go on the potty more.

Anyone have any advice?

Aloha Friday

Photobucket

It's Aloha Friday over at An Island Life! Answer my question and make sure you post one on your blog! After that, go relax because today is Friday!!

My question for this week is:

Do you get manicures and/or pedicures?

I don't. I've had one pedicure and that was last summer. Someone gave me a gift card to go do it. I wasn't a fan b/c I have this thing against feet AND I'm super ticklish. As far as the manicures go-there's really no need since I stay home all day. Even when I worked I just did my nails myself.

All Things Ribbon Review And Giveaway

I was so excited when I found out that we were having a girl because I finally get to "play dress up"! I love shopping for girly items and was ecstatic to get to dress my baby in frills and lace. One day she'll probably be a tomboy, but for now I get to decide what she wears. I am in awe at how huge the selections of clothes and accessories are for girls compared to boys.

Photobucket

All Things Ribbon is a website that is overflowing with handmade hair bows, headbands, girls hair accessories, hair bows for infants, and little girls fancy party dresses. Usually you find an outfit and then the bow to match. After looking at All Things Ribbon, you'll want to find new outfits to match the bows!

All Things Ribbon sent us a set of their Infant Headbands.
Photobucket

Both bows are made of satin and attached to 13" of stretch lace. The colors are perfect because almost all of Isabella's outfits are either pink or go with white. She has worn the white one almost everyday. Sadly, I can't find it right now. Someone once told me to buy an extra of your favorite hair bows because you always seem to loose them. I'm going to get another one even if it does turn up in the next few days so I can keep one in the car just in case I forget to bring a headband along. This is a picture of her wearing the white one when she was one day old.
Photobucket

These bows are the perfect size for her. Many times Infant Headbands or bows are so small and you can barely see them. She also has some that are larger, and I don't really put them on her yet because they look like they're as big as her head. We get compliments on her bows every time we go out. With these bows, no one has ever mistaken her for a boy! Here is another picture that I had in photobucket of her sporting her headband.
Photobucket

All Things Ribbon also carries some adorable dresses. Most dresses start at size 2, but there is a Little Sister Dress section and this dress is also available in 12 months and 18 months. I love the brown one.
Photobucket

If you have an older child, these headbands are perfect!
Photobucket

These Korker Flower Bows are attached to a lined alligator clip so you can put them on crocheted hats and headbands or just use them as a bow!

Wordless Wednesday-Is That All She Does?

Isabella is THREE weeks old today and still sleeps all the time. Even when she's awake, she's a very calm and quiet baby.
Photobucket

And this is what Evan does. He pesters her. I think he wants her to play with him and doesn't understand why she just sits there. I hate to tell him, but that time will come and he'll be wishing she were sleeping again!

Use Your Imagination With CitiBlocs Review And Giveaway

One of my favorite things about Evan getting older is being able to witness his imagination. It is amazing how young children can start having these elaborate imaginations and too often they are wasted because they don't use the right tools to express them. Children are watching more and more television and not utilizing their skills.

Photobucket

CitiBlocs is dedicated to help children capture their imaginations. CitiBlocs are a unique wooden construction toy that can be used to build just about anything. They are made from Grade A New Zealand Radiata Pine and each block is exactly the same size. Simply use your imagination and stack to make anything you can think of! CitiBlocs just won an IPMA 2009 Outstanding Products Award and an Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Seal Award.

CitiBlocs sent us their 54 Piece Color Wooden Building Bloc Set for Evan.
Photobucket

Even though they're meant for children 3 years and older, he has had a blast with these blocks. He is sitting and playing with the blocks right now. He isn't coordinated enough to use them like they're intended, but I have observed him using so many different skills with these blocks.
Photobucket

The blocks are red and blue and Evan kept sorting them out according to color. Over the past few weeks he has gotten great at stacking them up and I've seen his coordination improve. He usually puts the red ones going one way and the blue ones going the other. He may not be building cars or animals yet, but he can build his own version of a house.
Photobucket

The best things about these blocks is that he can continue to grow with them. He will continue to develop his fine motor skills as he works with this set. He'll be able to use his imagination and build all sorts of amazing things for years to come. Reasoning, problem solving, cause and effect, engineering and improvising are all part of the building block experience. Here is an example of what can be built with these blocks.
Photobucket

CitiBlocs has several other sets that are available so that we can continue to grow our collection. These blocks give us something else that we can do as a family. Not only will we be having fun, but we'll also be helping Evan improve many valuable skills.

Personalized MJM Book Review And Giveaway

As I've told you before, we like to read to Evan. I want to do everything that I can to make it where he enjoys reading. I find books about different things that he likes such as trucks and trains so that he will get excited and want to help pick out books.

Photobucket

MJM Books has come up with another way to get children excited about reading. The company was created in 2007 when three brothers began publishing personalized children's books. They have since recruited three artists that illustrated their books.

MJM Books sent us a copy of A Day At The Park with Evan as the main character.
Photobucket

A Day At The Park takes a fun approach to what children see while at the park. It takes imagination to a whole new level and will be enjoyable for both parent and child. Not only will children be excited that their name is in the book, but the character also looks just like them. It only takes a few minutes to personalize their book, but it will soon be one of their favorites.

Photobucket

We got to choose the gender, hair color, eye color, and skin tone of the child in the book. We even got to write a special message to Evan on the first page. Sure enough, when the book got here, the little boy looked like Evan. Evan's eyes got so big the first time that we read the book to him and he got to hear his name over and over. He brings this book to us several times a day for us to read to him.

These books are an inexpensive way to keep your child engaged in learning. They will feel special that it was made just for them and they will want to read it again and again. I love the special touch of being able to write a special message on the first page. Evan can always open his book to the first page and read how much his mommy and daddy love him.

Be Prepared With Energizer

After we became parents, toys took over house. Most of those toys require batteries and they go through them like crazy. I don't even know how much money we've spent replacing batteries. Last Christmas I even asked my aunts to just get me a ton of batteries because I knew he would be getting toys that would all need batteries.

Photobucket

Energizer has several products that can help reduce the cost and waste that we're creating. You can choose from all of their different rechargeable battery devices to find what would fit in best with your lifestyle. They have charging systems that recharge batteries in just 15 minutes and others that can recharge several different types of batteries at once. If you have problems keeping your phone charged, they have a way to help you there too!

Energizer sent us their Energi To Go Portable Cell Phone Charger, 15 Minute Charger, the Family Charger, and several batteries.
Photobucket
Photobucket

I got them right before we went to the beach and took the Cell Phone Charger with us. My phone is always going dead and I never seem to remember to bring a charger. This charger is extremely small so it can stay in my diaper bag for emergencies. It would also be great for people who work so they could keep it at their desk or in a briefcase so they can charge their phones on the go. Be sure to check which one you need for your phone. They come with a few different plugs for different phones. Simply choose which one you need and plug it into your phone.
Photobucket
Photobucket

After about 2 hours, the phone will be fully charged. You can see where the batteries go in with this picture. I love having this in case of an emergency, but the batteries only last for one charging. You'll have to have rechargeable batteries with the Cell Phone Charger because you'll need to replace the batteries after every use.
Photobucket

My favorite charging system is the Family Charger. I can charge several different types of batteries at one time. My son has a singing thing that he goes to sleep with and it goes through C batteries like crazy. I can charge those C batteries and AA batteries from other toys or for the Phone Charger at the same time!
Photobucket

The outside shows how charged the batteries are. The picture of the battery will be completely colored in when the batteries are done charging. The batteries in several different toys usually go dead at once. This makes it so much easier just to pop them all into the charger and have them ready in no time.
Photobucket

Sometimes you need batteries recharged quickly. Either the batteries in a favorite toy went dead, or you know you're going to be leaving the house in a few minutes and really need to have new batteries in the Portable Cell Phone Charger. You can use the 15 Minute Charger either in the house or in the car to have recharged batteries within minutes.

Photobucket

The 15 Minute Charger comes with a car adapter and an AC adapter so you can recharge at any time. It can charge 1-4 AA or AAA batteries at one time and has a charge status indicator light to let you know when they are ready. It also comes with (2)AA and (2)AAA batteries.

With these products from Energizer, I can always be prepared. If your family goes through as many batteries as ours, you should definitely invest in a Charger. They even have a tool on their website to help you decide which Charger would be best for your family. I think EVERYONE needs the Portable Phone Charger. You never know when you'll be out and need your phone charged in the case of an emergency.

Buy It
You can purchase these products almost anywhere that you get batteries. I found the Energizer 15 Minute Battery Charger on Amazon for $33.58, the Energizer Portable Phone Charger for $19.99, and the Family Charger for $26.74. The batteries all range in price.
