My little man is obsessed with wearing his daddy's hats. He even takes clothes and puts them on his head and tells me that they are hats. We're always in search of hats that actually fit him.

Needless to say, he loves to wear it. He finally has a hat that doesn't fall in his eyes. It fits so great that I think he even forgets that it is on his head.

I'm glad that he has this love for hats. In the summer we are outside all the time and this hat will help protect his head and face from the sun. Also, since it is plain black in color, it will go with pretty much any outfit.

In reality, How To Mess up Your Child's Life brings a humorous approach to different bad habits that children are learning. Each chapter first tells you how to instill these habits in your child, and then tells you different ways to teach your child how these things are wrong. It also includes verses to show what the bible says. The chapters are titled in a fun way to grab your attention such as Discouraging Frivolous Generosity(Deadly Sin: Greed).

I really enjoyed this book. I dread reading some "parenting" books because they are simply boring. How To Mess Up Your Child's Life made me smile and think all at the same time.

My favorite part was the different exercises that you can do with your child to teach them how to be better people. The one that really sticks out in my mind was in the anger chapter. Your children can squirt out toothpaste and after its all out, you tell them that you will give $20 to the first child that can get it all back in the tube. Once they realize that they can't do it, tell them that is what happens when words start coming out of your mouth. If you speak in anger, you can't take it back.

I think this is a great book to help any parent teach their children values and morals.

NotMe Monday-Still Praying

1. I do NOT continue to pray for Baby Stellan and hope that you do too.

2. We did NOT play rock paper scissors a few times this weekend to decide which of us was going to have to change the stinky diaper. We would never do that because we are adults!

3. We did NOT stay up last night playing "guess that baby part" while poking around with my tummy. We did not find it completely amusing that we found her foot and when we touched it, she would kick back.

4. We did NOT drive over an hour and a half because I really wanted to go shop at some outlet stores for baby GIRL stuff!

5. My back was NOT killing me by the time we got done walking around stores for 5 or so hours yesterday.

Exergen TemporalScanner Review And Giveaway

I can't count how many times I've had to retake a temperature because my son wouldn't stay still long enough. I've even tried two different "fast" thermometers but 10 seconds to a toddler(worse for a SICK toddler) is an eternity.

The Family Review Network gave me the opportunity to test out the Exergen TemporalScanner.



The Exergen TemporalScanner is the world's first infrared thermometer that measures the body's temperature from the temporal artery. After 2-3 seconds, you have a completely accurate temperature.

It is easier to get a false reading from taking your temperature under the arm, orally, or in the ear because of outside factors. If you drink anything, you have to wait for a correct reading and the amount of clothing you wear could alter the temperature under the arm. Many times the ear thermometers are positioned incorrectly during the reading and can be misleading.

The Exergen TemporalScanner is the fastest, most accurate way to measure body temperature. Even if there is perspiration on the forehead, you can place the probe on the back of the neck to get a reading.

To use, simply place the probe on the forehead, hold down the scan button and slide over to the hairline. Within 2-3 seconds it will beep letting you know the scan is over. Release the scan button and take the thermometer away from the head when it reaches the hairline. It even has an automatic shut off after 30 seconds.

It is the only Thermometer made in the US and is better for the environment since it uses infrared sensor technology and contains no mercury. The Exergen TemporalScanner runs on one 9-volt battery and meets all regulatory requirements.

Our Thoughts
The Exergen TemporalScanner is AMAZING! I don't think it even took 2-3 seconds for the reading to be complete. It was accurate and we were done before my toddler even knew what we were doing.



I'm going to tell on my husband. I gave him the thermometer to use and he didn't take the cap off. He kept telling me it was too low and something was wrong with it. I took it from him and saw the cap was still on. We had a good laugh over it. So AFTER the cap was taken off, it worked perfectly.

Our toddler was completely intrigued with it and didn't move. It was pretty much over as soon as we touched it to his head. I really wish we would have had this last month when we were all sick!

I will never own another thermometer. I am absolutely impressed with the Exergen TemporalScanner and will tell everyone I know that they NEED one. Even if your children are older, or you don't have any kids at all-THIS is the thermometer for you. You don't have to worry about whether or not you just drank something to alter the reading or how long you're going to have to keep it in your mouth while not being able to breath because of your stuffy nose.

The Baby Is A...

As most of you know, I had an ultrasound today. I posted yesterday telling you how excited I was to get another look at the baby. In an earlier ultrasound at around 12 weeks, the guess from the ultrasound tech was boy.

It took a little while today because the baby kept crossing its legs, BUT it's a...GIRL!!!

A HEALTHY LOOKING GIRL!!

YAY!!! I am so THRILLED! Really though, I knew it ALL ALONG! Remember my post from December? If not, you can read that HERE!

I haven't bought anything for him and we have had the WORST time coming up with a boy name! We had the girl name from the start.

Anyway, here are the pictures. The first one is her bottom, and the last two are the 4D shots that we got today. I think she looks a lot like her brother!







OK, so now I need girl stuff! I have a house full of blue baby clothes and products!

Bring on the frills and lace! I want the pink shoes and those BIG hair bows! I want the cute dresses and the tights.........can you tell I'm SOOOOO excited? Hubby says I've been glowing since we found out.

Our Thoughts
I got a grobag Baby Sleeping Bag in a 6-18 month size with a 1.0 tog. I wanted to be able to try it out on my toddler and thought it would be perfect for when this baby is 6 months old since it will be winter.



My little man is 19 months old and he could still fit in the 6-18 month size. If he was a chunky baby, he would have had to go with the next size up.

I immediately fell in love with it because the zipper. As you can see in this picture, when it its fully zipped, the actual zipper is at the bottom so the baby can't open it themselves and the zipper is away from their face.



Evan always kicks off his blanket. In the cooler months, I dress him pretty warm but still wonder if he's too cool. With the Grobag baby sleeping bag, I KNOW he's warm enough.

He was intrigued by the sleeping bag and was excited to wear it. I was worried that since he wasn't used to it that he wouldn't wear it. He did and he stayed warm!

In this picture, Evan is holding Rocky's Bumper and is about to throw it. He has watched his daddy do this several times every day. Starting this weekend, HE throws Rocky's bumper EVERY time we go outside. LOL, poor Rocky-the bumper only goes a few feet so he has nothing to really chase after!
