Aloha Friday #18

It's Aloha Friday again over at An Island Life! Answer my question and make sure you post one on your blog! After that, go relax because today is Friday!!

My question for this week is:

Do you have any sinus/flu/cold remedies that work for you?

I've been sick for a while now and since I can't take anything other than Tylenol, I'm looking for anything help relieve the sinus pressure, runny nose, cough, sore throat-take your pick!

I did send hubby out to get a Tylenol head congestion or something like that..we'll see if that helps.

I tried all kinds of hot liquids, soups, vitamin C...NOTHING seems to really be helping!

See Kai Run Review And Giveaway

I'm always on the lookout for new, cute shoes for my little man. I don't just want the shoes to be cute, I want them to feel good on his feet too.

Photobucket

See Kai Run actually has both!

Their shoes are extremely comfortable with flexible soles which is great for outdoors. They allow the foot to flex in all the right places. The leather is butter soft with a breathable leather lining and padded collars. They close with Velcro which makes it easy to take on and off.

See Kai Run has a smaller line for babies up to 18 months and a regular line for sizes 3-9.

You'll want to check their website for the new Spring line! As always, the girls shoes always pull at my heartstrings because they are just absolutely adorable! The boys shoes are fantastic as well, but a little more "manly"!

I want you to go check out the new spring line yourself, but here is one of my favorite styles that they've had for a while for girls. If Evan was a girl, he would have had these a long time ago!!
Photobucket

This is the Oliver. I think I'm going to get these for Evan for next winter! They'll go great with jeans and so many of his little polo shirts!
Photobucket

Our Thoughts On See Kai Run
I'm not a big fan of boys and Sandals. I'm not sure why, I'm just not. I did break down and choose a pair for this summer though. It gets HOT here, and these will help him stay cool. At first, I wanted the Jackson sandals, but they were sold out in his size so I chose the Grayson.

Photobucket

Evan LOVES shoes. I've even posted pictures of him stomping around in his Daddy's boots. He wears my shoes around the house too. With his love for shoes, it didn't take much for See Kai Run to win him over. He's actually wearing them around the house right now with socks(yes, he looks funny)!

These shoes are so light that I don't think he even realizes they're there. I was a little worried that they would be heavy because it looks like a lot of leather. I am still amazed at how light they are. I know it says that the leather is butter soft, but I just didn't see how they could be this light and flexible. I can bend the shoe in half if I want to.

I am a little concerned that they may not fit him this summer. Hopefully his feet won't grow much. Evan wears a 5 right now, and still has a good bit of room in them. I ordered a 6 in the Grayson shoes and held them up to a few pairs of his size 5 shoes. The Grayson is only a TINY bit longer. Since he won't be wearing socks with them, hopefully they'll last a little longer than I'm guessing.

It's my fault, I didn't look at the size chart. I just assumed since he wore a 5 in all of his other shoes, the size 6 in Grayson would be plenty big for him this summer.

The shoes are fantastic though and exceed my expectations. If you're looking for cute, soft, and comfortable shoes for your little one, go with See Kai Run.

Sick+Pregnant+Chasing A Toddler= Torture

I've been sick since Sunday. No big deal, right? YES..it's a HUGE deal(at least to me)! I can't take anything for it because I'm pregnant. I can't get "extra" rest because I have a toddler. I'm TRYING to drink more fluids but I have to cut those down in the afternoon, otherwise I'm up 500 times a night running to go tinkle!

I think I'm complaining because I feel worse today. HOPEFULLY this means its about to end? I doubt it.

My mom has had whatever it is that I have since THURSDAY!! She has a three day head start on me and AND she's taken tons of meds!

She went to the Doctor on Monday...he didn't even TEST her for ANYTHING! He wore a mask and got out of her room as fast as possible because she sounded horrible! Gotta love him! He said that it was probably just viral since it had lasted this long and would go away either that day or Tuesday...it's Wednesday and she still feels like poo!

Last night I was FREEZING. I turned the heat up in my house, put two extra shirts on, and piled two blankets on top of me. Turns out I had a fever over 102! That will do it every time! I took my Tylenol and laid down, just waiting for body parts to fall off since they felt like they were about to.

On Monday, I had an OB appt and told her that I didn't feel well and explained what my mom was feeling. Coughing, headache, fever, aching all over, oh and feeling like your chest is going to sink in at any minute. She said I could take Tylenol and Mucinex for the cough. Mucinex hasn't touched whatever it is that I have so I quit taking it yesterday.

Sorry to bother you with my long whine, but I've about had it.

ERGObaby Carrier, Backpack, And Front Pouch Giveaway

As you all know, I'm in search of products that will make my life easier not only as a mom to a toddler, but as a mom of a toddler AND a newborn.

Photobucket

The ERGObaby Carrier is just what I need! This is the only baby carrier that I've found to hold either my infant or my toddler toddler in the front, back, or hip positions! This carrier is meant to hold babies up to 40 pounds but has been tested and can hold up to 90 pounds! You can use this carrier as long as you feel comfortable doing so!

Most baby carriers are either for infants OR toddlers, not for both. Parents prefer to wear their babies in different positions. I don't mind using a carrier on my hip, but I know many moms or dads that would rather use carriers in the front or back position. With the ERGObaby Carrier, you can wear your baby in the position that the most comfortable and convenient for you!

Some features of the ERGObaby Carrier:
Photobucket
-14 ounce cotton canvas
-Design supports correct sitting position for baby's hip, pelvis, and spine growth
-100% cotton batting in body of carrier for softer edges
-400 threads per inch cotton poplin lining and hood
-One inch, high-density foam in shoulder straps
-Reinforced stitching used at all fabric intersections
-Attached hood to support sleeping baby, provide sun protection, or provide privacy for nursing.
-For newborns(with infant insert) to toddlers
-Easily worn on front, back, or hip
-And MORE

Some features of the ERGObaby front pouch:
Photobucket
-100% cotton canvas with nylon lining
-Velcro attaches the front pouch around the waist belt of the ERGObaby Carrier
-Zipper pocket in main pouch
-Two exterior pockets
-Adjustable shoulder straps
-And MORE

Some Features of the ERGObaby backpack:
Photobucket
-Can snap around straps of baby carrier
-100% cotton canvas
-Attached bottle holder
-Side zipper pocket
-Shoulder straps for independent use
-Two front pockets
-And More

With the ERGObaby Carrier and it's accessories, I can carry either my infant or toddler. We don't have a double stroller yet, but I'm sure both kids are not going to want to be in there at all times. Also, a double stroller takes up so much space. It would be easier to just carry one child and use the umbrella stroller for the other.

The ERGObaby Carrier is also perfect for places like the zoo. We go to the zoo all the time but end up having to get my son out of the wagon anyway because it sits down below the railing. With the ERGObaby Carrier, my husband can put him on his back and he will be contained and happy to be up so high and see the animals.

If you buy this carrier at birth, you will never have to use anything else! With the HandsFree System(Carrier, Backpack, and Front Pouch), you wont even have to use a stroller! I wish I would have had this carrier all along with my son!

Buy It
You can purchase a variety of colors and styles of ERGObaby carriers starting at $94.00.
The Backpack is $37.00.
The Front Pouch is $21.00.

Cloth Diapering For Me?

I said that I would never do cloth diapers. I like the ease of disposable diapers and it's just what I'm used to.

WELL, I've been reading more about it and am no longer opposed. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking about doing cloth diapers with this baby.

I keep a 4 month old little boy occasionally and he has cloth diapers. Of course, I only change the diaper and put them in a wetbag for his mommy, but it doesn't seem that bad!

But, as I start doing a little research on it, there are tons of different kinds. AND the initial cost is pretty high!

Have you had experience with cloth diapers?

Do you/will you do cloth diapers?

What brand do you use?

Any advice?

Revealing The First Belly Pic And Update

I'm 16weeks and 2days pregnant today. I had an appointment and heard the baby's heartbeat. It was a newbie that was working the doppler and it took a few minutes to find the heartbeat so I started to get worried, but I knew he was OK!

I have a bad cough and a little bit of a fever. My Doc said there wasn't much I could do, just to keep hydrated and that I could take Mucinex. Hopefully that will do the trick and I'll start feeling better soon!

I am starting to feel him move around in there and that is what I've been waiting for! That is my favorite part of pregnancy! Well, that and people asking me to get in front of them in line for the bathroom and asking if I want to sit! LOL, sometimes it's nice to hear people want to help, but I never accept(well, unless I REALLY have to tinkle)!

Last week, while out in public, people started asking me how far along I was. One lady even asked if I wanted her spot on a bench while waiting to eat at Olive Garden(of course, I declined). I figured I now look pregnant instead of just fat and haven't taken any belly pics!

I got hubby to take a picture of my belly as soon as I got home from my appointment today to show you! Now for the debut of my 16 week belly...

Followers On Your Blog

I've gotten several emails about why there is such a drastic change in the amount of followers on EVERY ONE'S blog. I thought I'd post and tell you what is up!

It looks like blogger went crazy and switched a whole bunch of people that were following blogs to anonymous. Those don't show up on your sidebar anymore. 60-70 of my followers were dropped today.

It even says that ALL the blogs I'm following, I'm following anonymously and I'm having to change it back to public! I think that you all are still there and can read it, but I'm not sure.

Please go through all the people that you follow and make sure that you are following them publicly! You have to go through and do this manually. If you need help, please let me know!

Just go to your dashboard and click on MANAGE at the bottom left. Then go through and change all of the blogs you follow to public instead of anonymous!

Jump Start Review And Giveaway

Children love to play games on the computer. They see us using it and they want in on the fun as well. I have been on the lookout for fun, educational games for my son to play when the time comes. There are so many games out there that just don't teach him anything useful.

JumpStart Kisha Banner

With Jump Start , children can create characters(jumpees), play games, and discover new lands! It is a 3-D virtual world that teaches children math, reading, and critical thinking skills.

Jump Start is designed for children ages 3-10 and provides them with hours of fun while teaching them skills to be successful in school and life!

I love that children get to use their imagination to create their special Jumpee. They get to choose their clothes, hair, and overall look. They then get to take their Jumpee to play and learn around a 3-D land.

Jump Start set us up with a membership to get a feel for the website. I created a character(jumpee) and played some of the games. Even at 23 years old, I found Jump Start really amusing!

There is even a forum for parents. I think it is important for parents to be able to connect with each other and ask questions! Many articles are available that address several issues that parents may have.

I wish they would have had things like this when I was younger! I think Jump Start is doing a fantastic job at giving our children fun resources to get them ready for school!

NotMe Monday #13

1. I did NOT forget to post my NotMe Monday on Mr. Linky last week until Tuesday morning!

2. I am NOT sick. Headache, sore throat, heavy chest.....NOPE NOT sick!

3. I did NOT forget when my next OB appointment is. I would always write that down and keep it so I would know. It's either today or Wednesday....I think.......

4. I am NOT super excited that it is going to be warmer at the end of this week!

5. I was NOT watching COPS with my dad and rewind it to show him a couple on there. I did NOT say that the guy would make a really pretty girl...but the girlfriend...not so much....I would NEVER say something like this and I only think positive thoughts. I would certainly NEVER rewind it to see if my dad agreed...which he did!

I Never Grew Up's Birthday Bash

I Never Grew Up is having some great giveaways!! Head on over there for your chance to win!

Baby Name Update

I know some of you are probably tired of hearing about my problems choosing a name for the baby, but I have received several emails asking how we were doing with it picking one out.

First of all, if you can't tell, I have a problem with making decisions. I am what you would call a researcher and have to know everything there is before I can make up my mind. It took me 3-4 months to choose which camera I wanted, so choosing a baby name is super hard for me! I know the poor kid will be stuck with it forever and I want to still like it after he gets here!

With our first son, I used family names and knew that I was going to name my son that since I was in middle school. It would make it easier if Hubby wanted to have a junior, but he's not interested in using his name at all.

Last time I posted, we were thinking of using the name Grayson. I still like it, but Hubby isn't a huge fan.

NOW, here is the list we've made after looking through FOUR baby name books. You would think we should have a bunch, but it's not that many!

Tell me which ones you like or if there is something else that isn't on here that you think would be a good fit! The more suggestions, the better!!

For first names we like(when I say we, one of us usually likes it more than the other):
-Weston
-Tanner
-Grayson
-Connor

HAHA..I KNOW...pathetic huh? Only 3 out of 4 baby name books. But looking through those is so hard because it is overwhelming!

For middle names(in no specific order with no specific first name in mind):
-Matthew
-Zachary
-Graham
-Andrew(hubby's name but he could care less about using it)

I feel like I'm leaving one off, but I think that is it.

I think my BIGGEST problem is that I have a HUGE family and can't see using so many great names that are out there because I would associate it with SOMEONE in my family or that I know.

OK, so what do you think? Any other ideas? Do you like any combinations of our first and middle name lists?

EyeBuyDirect Glasses Review And Giveaway

I have had to wear glasses or contacts since I was 10. My vision continues to decrease EVERY time I go the eye doctor. It usually doesn't decrease TOO much and I can get by with buying a new pair of glasses every other time that I go. I normally wear my contacts, but try to wear my glasses as much as I can to let my eyes rest.

I know as much as anyone how expensive glasses can be. Even with insurance and getting frames that are on sale, the lenses are usually out of this world.

Photobucket

Family Review Network introduced me to EyeBuyDirect.

I had never heard of EyeBuyDirect before. Their glasses start at only $7.95! They have designer glasses that go up over $100, but the majority are under $50!

How does it work?
You're probably wondering how can you possibly choose a pair of glasses that you've never tried on. EASY! EyeBuyDirect has a fun EyeTry option! You just upload a close-up picture of yourself and try on as many pairs of glasses as you'd like!

I had a blast using the EyeTry. I'm pretty sure that I sat there and tried on every pair of glasses that they have! I finally narrowed it down to 2-3 choices and had hubby helped me make the final decision.

Once you've selected your frames, you put in the information about your prescription for the lenses. I just called my eye doctor and they told me that information over the phone. You then have a few different options such as Anti-Scratch and UV Coating.

After you've filled in that information, you're done! It's that easy!

I admit I was worried that I may have messed something up with the prescription, but they're perfect. I wore them for 3 days straight after I got them and could see perfectly. I have even been better about taking my contacts out as much as possible and wearing my glasses.

Looks Like We Didn't Escape It

I posted about my brother finding out he had the flu on Tuesday after he had been at my house the day before. You can read about that here.

I was worried because my doctor freaked me out that if I got the flu something would happen to my baby(I opted not to get the flu shot). Thanks to all of you, I'm thinking he was just being a jerk!

BUT Evan seems to have the flu!

My aunt even came in from out of town last night and stayed with us instead of my mom since my brother has had the flu. Later today Evan's eyes looked heavy and we decided he felt warm. We took his temperature and it was over 101(he made me take it away before it went off).

I called his doctor and they said right now there isn't anything they would do except give him Tylenol for the fever.

He seems OK right now, just not quite his usual self. My brother didn't get sick to his stomach so I hope Evan won't either!

I think I'm OK so far. I had a headache earlier...but nothing more than that. I took some Tylenol and am about to go to bed. I've been getting lots of Vitamin C and washing my hands like you all said. If there was anything else, I would be doing that too!

Hopefully I'll be able to keep it away. A friend of ours has kids who all had the flu and she ended up with pneumonia...HOPEFULLY that won't happen here!

Aloha Friday #17

Photobucket

It's Aloha Friday again over at An Island Life! Answer my question and make sure you post one on your blog! After that, go relax because today is Friday!!

My question for this week is:

How long does it take you to get ready in the morning(or whenever you get ready)?

Some days I don't even get ready, but when I do it takes me about 30 minutes. Before I had Evan it took me a good hour. Now I can shower, dry my hair, put some make up on, and am ready to go! Give another 15 minutes to get Evan dressed, get his juice ready, and out the door we go!

Baby And Kidz Banz Review And Giveaway

Evan was born in the summer and we were always outside. From the start, we needed to have sunglasses on him so he could be getting the UV protection that he needed. We would put a big floppy hat on him, but his sunglasses would always come off!

If we would have had Baby Banz, we wouldn't have had that problem! Our little man would have had the protection he needed and his sunglasses would stay put. Baby Banz are sunglasses with a band that wraps around the head so they don't come off as easily.

Photobucket

There is Velcro that you can adjust so it fits you baby's head perfectly. As baby grows older, they like to just take regular glasses off. With Baby Banz, it will be harder for them to do that. They will fit babies up until they are 2!

Later, when your baby is no longer a baby, you can get them Kidz Banz. Regular sunglasses don't stay on small children who are always on the go. Kidz Banz will make it where your child can run and play as much as they'd like! Kidz Banz will stay in place. They fit children ages 2-5.

The Baby Banz website provides a list of ways that UV rays are harmful and how you can protect your child. The best way is to have them wear wide brimmed hats and sunglasses. To read more, click here.

Photobucket

Since Evan will be two before I know it, I chose to get the Kidz Bandz. They're still a little too big for him, but will be perfect when he's two in a few months! As always, he loves to wear hats and glasses so he thought he was so cool in these!

I have two pairs of regular sunglasses, but they don't stay on when he's running around from place to place. They all fall off after a while. The Kidz Banz stay on his head. Now I have a kid who thinks he looks cool and he's safe from harmful UV rays!

This baby is due this summer and I will be buying a pair of Baby Banz to keep him as safe as I can. Nothing is as important to me as keeping my children as safe as I can! If all it takes is a pair of neat looking sunglasses, I'm going to take that precaution!

Buy It
You can purchase the Baby Banz or the Kidz Banz for $15.00.

WIN IT!!
One of my readers will get a pair of either the Kidz Banz or Baby Banz.

Bath Luve Review And Giveaway

I was so excited to give Evan a bath for the first time. I set his bathtub up and couldn't wait to take pictures of him in his first bath. It was horrible. He screamed and I only got pictures of a red-faced, MAD baby!

Babies are so used to being warm when they are that small that bath time is just too cold for them. We would even put the space heater in his bathroom to get it as warm as we could. He was even born in August so our house was NOT cold!

Photobucket

Amy Seckinger had this same problem when her son was born 10 years ago. She wanted to find some way to make bath time more pleasant and to keep him warm! Amy created the Bath Luve.

The Bath Luve will keep your baby warm during bath time! Just soak it in warm water and drape it over your baby's torso. They are made from 100% cotton and are 14"x10". The Bath Luve now comes in three absolutely adorable designs, the duck, frog, and fish.

Photobucket

We got the Bath Luve Frog! Even though Evan is not a tiny baby anymore, he still gets cold in the bath. As babies get older you can drape the Bath Luve over their shoulders to keep them warm.

We put the frog on his shoulders and he loved it! I think that he felt like a super hero! He didn't even want to take it off when the bath was done. He takes longer baths than he used to so the Bath Luve did start to cool off after a while. We just soaked it again and put it back on his shoulders.

I don't like posting pictures of him in the bath since he is getting older...but here he is telling me "HAT"!
Photobucket

I will also use this with the new baby when we're traveling and not using our Spa Tub. I am going to buy one to keep at my mom's house as well. There will be many baths at grandma's house and this will keep him warm in the sink!

Not only will it keep him warm, it will also make cute pictures! Having a frog on him during his first bath pictures will be adorable and something I can share with everyone because it will fully cover him up!

Buy It
You can purchase any of the three Bath Luves for $6.99.

WIN IT!!

Wordless Wednesday #18-Take Me Out To The Ballgame

Photobucket

This was in June last year. My brother plays baseball pretty much year round. Right now he's playing with his HS team and in summer and fall he plays on traveling teams.

We usually go when they have tournaments in fun places. This was in Charleston, SC. The first day of the tournament we went shopping but decided to go to the games the next day. It was SOOOO hot and we kept having to feed Evan snowcones and letting him play with ice. Obviously we had taken all his clothes off except for his diaper to keep him as cool as possible.

OH NO-The Flu

At my last doctor's appointment, my doc all but forced me to get a flu shot. I just didn't want to get another shot and I've heard about some people getting sick after they had it. He said that was a myth, but I said I'd think about it and maybe I'd get one at the next appointment.

He gave me a short lecture on pregnant women having the flu and then having miscarriages.

WELL, my brother was at my house ALL day yesterday. He woke up this morning with a fever. My mom took him to the doctor and he has the flu!! My brother even had the flu shot this year!

Now my doctor has me all scared that if I get the flu from my brother, something will happen to my baby.

Scanalog Review And Giveaway

If you're anything like me, you have pile of magazines that you want to save. Some of you may be a little more productive and have actually cut out the articles you want to keep and put them in some type of folder. Either way, you're still taking up space in your house and it is hard to keep it all organized.

Scanalog Moving Logo

Family Review Network introduced me to Scanalog.

This software is actually designed for you to keep ALL of those magazine articles that you've been holding on to for years. You simply scan the article(s) that you want to keep and place it in the correct category within the software.

There are 11 master categories that you can file your articles under. You can even give your article some keywords so that if you forget what you did with it, you can just type in those words and find it!

Scanalog Mousepad

Each of the master categories have subcategories to make it easier to organize your articles. You can even make your OWN subcategories to customize it to your life.

I think that most of what I try to keep is recipes. Later, I forget that I even kept those recipes because I have no way of actually organizing them to know what I have. With Scanalog, all I have to do is scan the recipe and place it in the correct subcategory. I can even make some of the main ingredients keywords so that later I can search for recipes that use chicken and they will all pop up!

You can even create a subcategory to scan all of your children's artwork into! It is so hard to keep EVERY drawing they ever created, but with Scanalog you can keep anything that you want! I've scaned all of Evan's little scribbled artwork because it's something that I want to make sure I keep!

Scanalog has something for everyone! EVERYONE wants to keep some magazine articles, newspaper articles, or recipes. Scanalog even has a place to keep up with which books you've read and which ones you need to. It takes it a step further with a spreadsheet where you can type in catalogs that you want to order from. You can put the name of the catalog and which page the item that you want is on!

Don't have time to sit down and write a journal? Scanalog has a journal already set up with dates and everything! Use it as a journal OR a calender! I am keeping a record of all the new words Evan says and the new things that he starts to do. As this pregnancy progresses, I will also put down special little moments with this baby!

Totally Talented Tuesday #11

Photobucket

I hope everyone can join in and link up with Mr. Linky at the bottom of this post to show off the talent in your house! Just post about the talent going on around you on your blog!

Talent can be anything from anyone you know! Did your baby learn how to sit up this week? Did you write an amazing blog post? Post about it! To read more, click HERE!

This week is a few talents rolled into one post! We went to a Birthday party for a very special 3 year old and I was a little worried that Evan wouldn't play very well and just want to stay beside me the whole time. Because he stays at home with me, he's not around a whole lot of other kids and usually just sticks to my side when we're out!

He actually did VERY well and played with the other kids and didn't even notice when I had to leave the room! It was at a gym for kids and he had a BLAST! They have tons of equipment that the kids got to play with and Evan played with it all! He was so proud of himself. I'm thinking about putting him in classes at this place.

Photobucket

Now post about the talent in your life and leave a link in Mr. Linky!

Digital Scrapbook Starter Kit Ends TONIGHT!

If you haven't already entered the Digital Scrapbook Starter Kit Giveaway, go do so!

This would make a great gift for anyone if you already know how! Its so easy to use, teens and older kids could use it too!

It ends tonight at 11:59pm!

The New Neighbors HAVE To Go

For a little background, I live in a new neighborhood. We were actually the 3rd house to start building so I've had to deal with a lot of waking up early to the sound of loud music and hammers. I'm OK with that, I knew that would happen.

Well, my neighborhood is pretty much built now. My street has been done for about a year so I expect a little bit of peace and quiet!

The house two doors down is actually owned by another lady and she rents it out. That's OK with me. My problem is, she must rent it month by month to people who just need it for a little while. In the past 2 years since her house has been built, there have been no less than 4 families that lived there. I have no problem with that either because MOST families are good neighbors.

Not this new one! I'm pretty sure they may even be vampires. LOL! They started moving in at least 3 weeks ago...at midnight. That's right, MIDNIGHT. I woke up to people talking REALLY loudly with slight screaming and high pitched laughing.

I can deal with one night of that. A few nights later, the SAME thing happened. I'm starting to get a bit annoyed now. I'm pregnant, so I wake up multiple times a night to go tinkle. I need quiet the rest of the night so I can actually sleep!

I don't mind them moving in at midnight with their KIDS running around, as long as they're quiet. By the way, do these kids go to school? Why are they up at 1:00 in the morning?

Since then, I have not ONCE seen them during the day. I have only heard them come home really loudly somewhere around 11:00-12:00 at night. Until yesterday. Hubby came inside from working on his truck and told me that their kids were running around in the road and he hadn't seen the parents at all. It isn't THAT big of a deal because we live at the end of the very back road in a small neighborhood. But still, it could be dangerous.

THEN, last night I go to bed at about 10:00 and I was exhausted. At 10:45, I wake up to kids yelling and running around. Seriously? Not this again! Sure enough, there are kids running around in the road and in their yard. At about 11:30, they're still really loud. Only this time, they're INSIDE hanging out one of the windows(or so hubby says, I was in bed with a pillow over my head trying to go back to sleep).

I have NO clue how many kids they have or how old they are. I have seen no less than 8 kids ranging in age from 5ish-17ish. I don't even know if parents live there! I've never seen them! Their house is actually one of the smallest houses in our neighborhood so I know why the kids would want to come outside, but why can't they do it during the day and SLEEP at night?

Anyway, I was finally able to go to sleep around 11:30 or so. BUT at 4:00, I woke up to loud music and a car starting. One of the cars was leaving the driveway.

It's 7:45 now. The house is quiet and dark. I'm thinking about going outside and turning the radio up REALLY loudly in my car!

NotMe Monday #12

1. Hubby's truck does NOT keep acting up...UGH!

2. I did NOT take Evan to a birthday party on Friday. It was the first one he's been to and he had a blast.

3. I did NOT go out and buy a pair of secret fit maternity jeans even though I own 4 other pairs. I was NOT tired of looking like I had two stomachs because the other maternity jeans have the elastic right in the middle of my tummy.

4. I am NOT upset that it's going to be about 5-10 degrees cooler this week than it was last week!

Safety Caps Review And Giveaway

Even if parents don't do a whole lot of baby proofing in their house, they should cover their outlets. Little fingers love to get into little holes and stick other things in them. It is a very inexpensive way to keep your baby or toddler safe.

I have covers on my outlets but didn't realize that I had another problem on my hands. Those covers that I thought were keeping my baby safe could actually cause another hazard. They are so small that my little man could put them in his mouth and choke on them!

Photobucket

George DeCell is the creator of the Safety Caps. His daughter choked on one of the standard size outlet plugs so he knew he needed to come up with something safer! The Safety Caps are much larger and have two holes to add an extra safety feature.

Look at the difference in standard size that I have and the Safety Caps.

Aloha Friday #16

Photobucket

It's Aloha Friday again over at An Island Life! Answer my question and make sure you post one on your blog! After that, go relax because today is Friday!!

My question for this week is:

Have you ever been on a cruise? Have you taken your kids on a cruise? Do you get sea sick?

I have never been on a cruise. My husband's Grandparents want to take the whole family on one next summer for their anniversary. Its a SEVEN day cruise and I just can't decide if I want to take two kids and go. The kids will be 10 months old and almost 3 years old.

And, I get sea sick while deep sea fishing, but don't know if I will on a ship!

Daddy Diaper Changing Toolbox Giveaway By Fun Stuff 4 Babies

Let's face it, Dads aren't usually included when it comes to baby showers and gifts! It's usually women only, and then the new Daddy's just come and load up all of the baby stuff after it's over.

Well, Fun Stuff 4 Babies came up with a hilarious way to include dad! I don't know many Dads that don't make a little scene when they first learn how to change a diaper. Now there is the Daddy Diaper Changing Toolbox to help them get the job done!

Photobucket

This Toolbox includes:
-Mask- toxic fume filter for when it doesn't smell like roses.
-Goggles- for protection against your own mini version of Old Faithful.
-Patent Pending Poop Poncho-need we say more???
-Tongs- Several inches of steel separation between you and the little warm wrapped gift.
-Turkey Baster- for precision hiney washing.
-Ear/Nose Plugs- use with care.
-Pacifier- scream plug.
-Baby Wipes- for cleaning baby bottom and various parts.
-Diaper for newborn- cute as a kitten until it gets wet then it looks and smells like a sewer rat.

-Hand Wipes- to clean up afterward. (For Dad's use only).

My best friend is having her first baby next month and this will be perfect for BOTH of them. Neither of them have had much experience when it comes to changing diapers and they are pretty weary of the idea! The Daddy Diaper Changing Toolbox will make a fun way for them to learn!
