BABYBJÖRN Organic Baby Carrier Original Review And Giveaway

If you visit my blog regularly, you have seen several pictures of Isabella in her red Baby Carrier Original Spirit. I can't believe that I never used a carrier with Evan.

The Original Carrier is a consumer favorite for keeping baby close while leaving parents hand free. BabyBjörn chose to created the Original Baby Carrier with fabric made from organically grown cotton. As the website states, The fabric complies with the GOTS standard and, like all our fabrics, is certified in accordance with Oeko-Tex, Standard 100, class 1 for baby, a health and safety certification that guarantees it is free from hazardous substances.

Unlike many carriers, it can be used with newborns. I started putting Isabella in her spirit orginal carrier shortly after she arrived. She will be able to fit in these carriers until she is 25 pounds. She still likes to face me and nap while she is in the carrier, but soon she'll want to look out. I can fold the head support down so that the she can be carried facing forward, allowing her to look around.

The BABYBJÖRN Baby Carrier Original provides support for baby's back and head and ensures that their legs and arms are in a physiologically correct position. Isabella is so comfortable in the carrier that she falls asleep almost every time. My sister cut my head off in this picture, but you get the idea. Isabella likes to bring her arms inside the holes and suck on her thumb.


I love that there are no straps to go around my waist. I always feel so self conscious after having a baby and don't want any straps drawing attention to my waist. I have comfortably carried Isabella for several hours during the day in both the Organic and Spirit Original carriers. She is probably around 13 pounds now and I have never had any back or shoulder pain from wearing it. It is so easy to put on without any help from anyone else. You simply slide a hook in place and snap the top part.

The carrier is also machine washable! I have had Isabella facing forward a few times and she chews on the fabric. At first I was a little grossed out by that, but it is made from organically grown cotton and I can throw it in the wash after she gets it soaked. The Organic Baby Carrier Original gets two thumbs up from me.
