Veggie Tales- Abe and the Amazing Promise

Veggie Tales are a huge hit in our house. We have about 20 of the DVDs and we record it every Saturday morning when it comes on TV. Evan is only 18 months old, but it is never too early to start learning the valuable lessons that Veggie Tales teaches children.

Each DVD not only teaches children(and adults) bible stories, but they also teach life lessons.

Thanks to Family Review Network and Veggie Tales, we were able to review the latest Veggie Tales DVD.

In Abe and the Amazing Promise, Bob the Tomato wants to make a movie out of Abraham and Sarah's life. He wants to tell the story of all the patience it took while Abraham and Sarah were waiting for their promised son. He gets a set together and is prepared to shoot a film about their life.

On the set, everything begins to go wrong and the film crew is growing impatient. It is more important than ever for Bob to teach them about Abraham and Sarah's long wait.

After Bob is finally able to tell this amazing story, Larry comes on with another one of his songs. In most Veggie Tales DVDs, there are Silly Songs by Larry the Cucumber. In this DVD, the song is "Sneeze If You Need To"! Kids LOVE these songs.

This summer, I had a 5 year old and 3 year old that stayed with me a few days a week. They would get up and dance and sing during these songs. They are truly silly and lift the spirits of children. Now, at 18 months, Evan dances around to these songs.

The DVD doesn't end there! Next is the musical mis-adventure: Bluders in Boo-Boo-Ville. It stars Jacques(Larry the Cucumber) who is trying to make new inventions but things keep going wrong. This funny story also sheds light on the importance of Patience.

I sat and watched this with my son and the three year old little girl that I keep. Each of them sat and didn't move during most of the DVD, much like all the other Veggie Tales DVDs that we have. The 3 year old even wanted to watch it again!

It was nice for me to have a refresher on the story of Abraham and Sarah. With all the different bible stories, it is often easy to forget some of the details. My sister is 11 and she even still enjoys watching these movies.

If you already have a collection of Veggie Tales DVDs, Abe and the Amazing Promise would make a fantastic addition! If you're thinking about getting one for your child to watch, this would be a great place to start! Who doesn't need a lesson in patience?

We love Veggie Tales in our house, too! We haven't seen this one yet, we'll have to get it soon. We rent the DVDs from the library, but we're working our way forward from the first one. We just watched Dave and the Big Pickle.

I'll have to check some out. Hannah has one book and has watched Jonah and the Whale a few times. I asked her if god was in it and she goes "yeah mom, god's a tomato!". Love it. :-)

I adore Veggie Tales, I just recently read the book, Me, Myself and Bob by Phil Vischer. It's insane what he went through this his company and how he created them.
