Safety Caps Review And Giveaway

Even if parents don't do a whole lot of baby proofing in their house, they should cover their outlets. Little fingers love to get into little holes and stick other things in them. It is a very inexpensive way to keep your baby or toddler safe.

I have covers on my outlets but didn't realize that I had another problem on my hands. Those covers that I thought were keeping my baby safe could actually cause another hazard. They are so small that my little man could put them in his mouth and choke on them!

Photobucket

George DeCell is the creator of the Safety Caps. His daughter choked on one of the standard size outlet plugs so he knew he needed to come up with something safer! The Safety Caps are much larger and have two holes to add an extra safety feature.

Look at the difference in standard size that I have and the Safety Caps.

I have secured the electrical outlets in my house but my older one can remove the caps now, so we are looking for an alternative. We also have cabinet locks in the kitchen and bathroom.

We have put outlet plugs in all the outlets in the house but our daughter loves to suck on them so these Safety Caps would be so great to have! We have also put locks on lower cupboards and drawers, removed plants that could be dangerous to her if she ate them, and put gates by the stairs.

I crawled around my apartment checking what was in my babies reach and then babyproofed- gates, window shades, bumper guards, cabinet locks, outlet covers... We've got them all. However, my one year old son is known as a bulldozer already pulled out some outlet covers, learned to open the drawer locks, pulled off the bumper guards... I've gotta re-evaluate and find some new safety products that are "bulldozer" proof

We've put in the small sized outlet caps, several baby gates, and locks on the cabinets in the kitchen. We've even cleared out a drawer close to the floor that's filled with plastic bowls and large spoons so that my niece can have her own area to mess with while we're in the kitchen.

we've only just begun. We're renting until we buy our new house so it's a little hard with cabinet locks, but we've started with outlets, sharp corners and securing furniture

I locked all the cabinets with anything remotely dangerous or possible dangerous in it. Certainly covered all outlets. Put a gate at the top and bottom of the stairs.
Removed all coins from reach and continue to do so (my son swallowed a penny once).

we put a baby gate (attaches to the wall on one side & latches on the other...and swings open)in the doorway/between our living room & kitchen. It is the easiest way to keep 28 mo. old & 13 mo. old out of the kitchen...which is so important when cooking. Thanks priscillawallace at sbcglobal dot net

We put up gates at the top of our stairways and attached our heavy furniture to the wall. We also have some of the smaller outlet covers in, but I would like to replace them with the larger ones.

My babe just started crawling a lot and I'm trying to baby proof as much as I can. We have an old house with few outlets, so we have a lot of cords around and space heaters. One thing I have done is I switched all my household cleaners and laundry detergent to Charlie's Soap and their All Purpose Cleaner. I use it for everything and it's non-toxic, even if she did get into the cabinets.

we did a lot (but not enough)- latches on the drawers and cupboards, used museum putty to attach breakables to shelves, attached shelving units to the wall.

Cabinet latches are a must at our house! Doorknob covers are also nice.

We are adopting (waiting to be matched) so we have just begun to think about babyproofing. We do have babygates (upstairs and downstairs), we did get rid of the glass coffee tables we had downstairs and we are preparing of the other things we will need to do before baby would come home.
