Aloha Friday #9

Photobucket

It's Aloha Friday again over at An Island Life! She says on Fridays, you should take it easy!

My question for this week is:

What do you usually do for New Years?
We usually go to my cousin's house and do fireworks. They sometimes get a little crazy though and I don't want to take Evan over there! The past two years we have been home and in bed before midnight! Last year we had a tiny baby, and the year before that I was pregnant! I'm not sure what we're going to do this year! Pin It!

Watch the celebration on TV, eat something at midnight, wear polka dots (only because I don't want to Argue with Mom who thinks it brings good luck!)

Watch it on tv or go to bed early. Now my son is getting older so he tries to stay up w/ me. Oh & we always have a junk food dinner & play games until Hubby & bg go to bed!

Some friends of ours have a party every year. It is a family type party so we take the kids and everyone has fun. We eat, play games and toast in the New Year. They have had this party for the past few years now and they just sent the invite for this year. With out their party we would be in bed by 9:00.

We usually stay in and stay up as late as we can. Since having Alex, we've been New Year's bumbs. lol.
Oh! But I secretly wish to go to a HUGE ball and wear my beautiful, beaded gown that fits me again. I'm sure that's not gonna happen. Maybe a Vlog is in my future where I get to wear my gown. :) lol
p.s. if i find out i'm not preggers yet, I'm totally drinking me some wine.

We stay home and buy sparkling water or sparkling juice, New Years Crackers and play games as a family.

We usually stay home and I make a nice meal, we open a bottle of wine and watch old movies.

Before we had kids (5 years ago) we would go out to a nice dinner and see a movie. Two years ago while I was pregnant with my second we went to a friends house, ordered in Chinese food and played games. This year I am not too sure.

We either do fireworks at home or at the father-in-laws or go watch some. So as you see we have no 'regular' and do not have definite plans for this year! I think it might be nice to pick one and make it a tradition!

New Years is a family night in our house. We stay up with the kids and watch movies until 11:30 and then we put on the tv and wait for the ball to drop.

It's great because they sleep in the next day which means we get to as well!

My husband always seem to be on call for New Years...so we usually sit home with the kids and play board games...which I love anyway!

I stay home for New Year's actually. I prefer to be off the roads away from the parties and just make it a quiet evening at home.

Pretty much the same as any other day. Just hang out and hope my husband isn't killed by a drunk driver while patrolling the streets.

New Year's in Hawaii is AWESOME. It is like the biggest holiday of the year!!! The entire island of Oahu is covered in smoke because everyone goes crazy! All vets prescribe tranquilizers for dogs! This year we are flying back from CA to HI...so who knows what the night will bring!

My Dad's birthday is on New Years' Eve so we usually go over to their house for dinner and cake and a movie!

We have a small party with friends over, usually a light buffet, and alot of talking, chatting, and catching up.

Love your background! (I have the same one!)

We have no traditions for New Year's! We're not the party till you're drunk kind of people, so we're usually just watching T.V. or movies at home! Last year, the city we lived in, had fireworks at 8 p.m. for families to be able to enjoy them together. Then, we got coffee and donuts and came home! We're in a new city this year, so we'll have to figure out what to do...

We do different things on different years, depending. Usually get together with one set of friends or another. I think this year we're going to try to have a New Year's party for the kids. :)

To me it's just another public holiday 'cos being Chinese, the Chinese New Year is more meaningful to me.

We normally have a party and invite everyone. This year it depends whether the hubby gets his check before or after the holiday.
BTW-- I nominated you--

We used to go out with friends and have dinner and maybe go to a movie. But since we've had kids, we haven't gone out for a New Year's Eve celebration!! In fact, last year, I think I went to bed around 10:00 pm! Life has seriously changed since I've had kids!
