Day 3 question...

Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? Do you budget for the holidays? Do you always stick to your budget? Share with us any budgeting tips you may have!

I have already started my Christmas shopping. If I happen to find great buys and I think someone would love it, AND its after their birthday, then I keep it for Christmas. My little sister's bday was back in May and I am pretty much done Christmas shopping for her. I would say that I've done 75% of my Christmas shopping!

No, I don't have a budget. I DID set aside $1000 dollars from our taxes to help with Christmas shopping, but I haven't had to break into that yet! Hopefully, I wont have to and can use it as extra towards paying off my car!

I am super cheap though. I find everything that is on my Christmas list on sale...well ALMOST everything. That is why I start so early...because if I know it is something that I'm getting someone for Christmas, then why not go ahead and buy it on sale! For example, I am getting Evan a portable DVD player for him to have on trips and such. I found one on sale at Kohl's for $99...PLUS I had an extra 20% off...PLUS there was a $30 mail in rebate! I'm not going to find one any cheaper than that! I've also been known to use Ebay. My brother wanted a few Ralph Lauren Big Pony Polos, and I found 3 on ebay that are brand new...with tags...still in the wrapping................for a whopping $58! I got THREE for HALF of what ONE would have cost!!!

LOL..so I guess my tip would be to start early and catch as many sales as possible!

I did have a budget, kinda used some on Garrett's glasses that I had to order so our budget is less then planned but thats ok. Yes I have started shopping and honestly I have not purchased anything new yet. I am being the bargin shopper this year by hitting up garage sales and goodwill and am finding some great stuff! Today I bought a brand new chutes and ladders game, the same version that my parents played! And yes it was brand new! And I paid $1 for it! So there will be presents under our tree just might not be brand mew items.

Great ideas! It's wonderful when you can find things early in the year and just pack them away!!

I totally get what you mean about your room being a "holding room", my closet is that way, I've got gifts stashed in drawers. I just won an Ipod Touch for my best friend, where am I gonna hide that?? My boyfriends house :) Better to be safe than sorry!

I also already started my shopping and am looking for things on sale only, so far so good. My oldest daughter is still thinking of what she'll ask Santa, so haven't shopped for her yet.
