Aloha Friday #6

Photobucket

It's Aloha Friday again over at An Island Life! Her question was:

What are you thankful for?
I said that I was thankful for my family's health!

Now its time for my question to you! I'm SO ready to decorate and get things ready for Christmas so....

CHRISTMAS TREE-DO YOU DO REAL ONES OR DO YOU HAVE A FAKE ONE? WHEN DO YOU PUT IT UP?

We have always had a real Christmas tree! I LOVE the smell of them...but HATE the needles that constantly fall off. This year we broke down and bought a fake one because I have visions of Evan picking up EVERY needle and trying to eat it! We put ours up the Sunday after Thanksgiving..and I can't wait! Pin It!

Ours is fake. We are never actually at our house the week of Christmas and I have a big fear of a real tree combusting. I realized that it doesn't just burst into flames, but that is my irrational fear. And we put it up the day we get home from wherever we are for Thanksgiving.

Ours is fake, always has been. It's nice cause we have the prelit kind so we don't have to worry about stringing the lights which always seemed to take the longest time! And now that I have a toddler who puts everything in her mouth it's nice to not have all the needles everywhere. We usually put ours up at Thanksgiving.

I just read your comment about games. I love Apples to Apples too! I made my own version at work and on special days I let the 4th and 5th graders play it. It is their favorite!

We use a small fake tree, we put it up sometime in December, it varies year to year.

WE have a fake one with tacky colored lights, reminiscent of the tree in "A Christmas Story." The kids love it, and my husband and I do to, I guess. We put it up either on Thanksgiving or the day after, and take it down the day after Christmas.

I have a fake one. My husband was allergic to evergreen's as a child so we decided not to risk it.
(I'm putting an evergreen wreath on my door, if that counts)
My tree goes up on black Friday...after the parade. I watch A Christmas Story (on repeat) and put everything up. My husband stays out of my way. :)

Ooohh...Look at your 3-column-ness! It looks great.

Our tree is fake and we usually put it up after Thanksgiving, but with a grabby toddler I am wondering if a good idea to put it up;)

We do fake as well. It has the lights on it already and once its up its ready to go! Plus I hate real trees because the needles drop everywhere, there is a higher chance of fires and you have to water the thing every day! I am lucky to remember to feed my kids! LOL

I use a prelit white light fake tree. But I make sure I have candles or incense to make the house smell like Christmas. Real trees are just too dangerous I think.

Oh I forgot, I put up all decorations on Black Friday and they come down the day after Christmas.

Ours has always been real. However this year I just don't know what to do. The little one is now mobile...we may not even get one. As to when we put it up...around the second week of December. They dry out so fast!

We have a fake tree. I have no idea how i am going to keep my toddler from pulling off all of the ornaments this year! Last year she was too young to care but this year she is into everything :) So that'll be our challenge this year! And we usually put it up right after thanksgiving - usually that saturday. I can't wait!

We have a fake one. My husband and I love real trees - we had one for our first Christmas together. When our oldest was a baby, we bought a fake tree, so that she wouldn't choke on needles. Ever since, we just put that up every year, cause, why not? - we already have it... Why bother with the real one! We usually get it put up soon after my son's birthday, which is today!

I have to have the real thing, we live in Oregon you see, one of the Christmas tree capitols of the world! Did you know that the tree in times square has come from Oregon?

Right now we use fake due to the fact that where we live doesn't really have trees and I will not pay a ton for a tree. But when we lived back in Washington we would go to a tree farm every year and cut our own. And I refuse to put our tree up until it is actually december. :)

BTW, I love your blog and all the great giveaways.
